A Delightful Finish

Wake up Sunshine! ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŒž

Let's start this week bright eyed and bushy tailed shall we?

Happy Monday, Sweetness! How was your weekend?  Was it fast and furious or did you sit back and enjoy the days quietly?

Mine - well it was a little bit of both! I do have a finish to share !

Excuse me a moment while I break out into a happy dance! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿ’ƒ

I finished the binding on Autumn's Delight  This was a wee four patch that I pieced last month. I shared the measurements in my September 2, 2024 post entitled Autumn's Delight - A Wee Four Patch.

I quilted this wee quilt while camping in Kentucky last month.

Autumn's Delight  measures 12 1/2" x 14 1/2"  and is perfect to sit out year round, but especially during the fall season.

Some of the fabrics are 20 + years old and some are thrifted.

On a whim, I rolled up the wee quilt, added some jute twine and a faux leaf and put it on display.

I think it looks pretty nifty! How about you?

Well , Sweeties, I will keep it short and sweet today .  Remember - we are hitting the ground running on this fine beautiful Monday. So let's go!

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

  3. What a cute idea to roll it up to fit into your fall display! We went back to 80's and humid, ick! I preferred the 70's and windows open week before that.

    1. Aah thank you kindly, Vicki. It is always fun to come up with another way to display a quilt. Yikes on the humidity; it makes the heat so unbearable. Our temps went back up to 90 with no rain in sight. I hope that it cools down for the both of us soon. Enjoy your week, Vicki.

  14. Such a wash of fall colors in your Autumn Delight. So nice. Displaying it with the twine and leaves enhances it so sweetly. I worked on piecing a backing to my Dinosaur quilt top for the gr'son. Gathered some produce from the garden. Boy, my crookneck squash is acting like zucchini this year. It has been producing in high gear for long enough. Put up 3 more bags of diced tomatoes this morning, too. I am going to follow your lead and start a simple block-a-day for the next little while - a bow-tie.

    1. You have been super busy , Ginny. Aaah a Dinosaur quilt- all little boys love dinosaurs. I know he will just love it! When my grandsons were younger, I bought so many dinosaur books and toys. Your garden is doing great! How lucky are you to be harvesting all of the squash. Are you freezing any or just eating it as it comes in? I made a lot of squash pickles last year. I am glad I did since our garden did not do as well this year. Ooh a bow tie quilt sounds delightful. I hope you enjoy working on this new project. Have a great week, Ginny. Hugs.

  19. What a beautiful quilt - I have never made an actual quilt - I have cut out squares and sewn them together but that is about as far as I have gotten. You do inspire! I have made so many of your adorable cross stitch patterns though - beautiful work you do and it is so appreciated that you share so willingly! I think the squirrel cross stitch that is behind your Mini Squirrel Sampler is so cute - is that a pattern you created? I have not seen it before but I love it. thank you again for all you do - Carrie

    1. Good afternoon, Carrie. Oooh it sounds like you are off to a great start on a quilt. You just have to jump in with both feet. I know you would do a fabulous job! Please keep me updated on your quilt in the works. Are you going tom make a mini or a larger one? Oh thank you so much for asking about the squirrel stitch . The big stitch with the squirrel and house is called 1803 Autumn Home. I posted it on Sept. 7, 2021. The other small squirrel stitch on the stool is a With Thy Needle and Thread piece called Oktober Feast. It was a fun one too. I wish you a wonderful weekend. Happy Stitching. Hugs.
