Little Hoot- Halloween Stamp Freebie

Howdy, sweet friends. How you doing on this lovely October Tuesday ?

 

I have been absent again and if you have guessed that Mr. Pinker and I have hit the ole' dusty road for rest , relaxation and perhaps a few adventures, you would be right? We have been gone for a number of days, and for this trip it was quite a feat to pack. I will tell you more about that later.

 Where are we at? Well in "no man's land " where the coyotes howl, the deer frolic and the  internet/ cell service is non existent, but that does make for quiet days and nights. 😃😏 So when I go to town I will try to pop in  to say hello. 

 Today I wanted to share another Halloween stamp.

Movin' and Groovin' Sunday

 Rise and shine, Sunshine! It is a beautiful sunny Sunday! And we do have so much to do - don't we? 

The Hum of the Bees,  Itty Bitty Bee Pinkeep ,Aunt Bea's Summer Home, Bees and Blooms , The Ole' Crow Saltbox

What you may ask? Well some slow stitching, Silly! Hee! Hee! I have my needle and thread ready. Do you? 

First off, I do need to tackle a few of the Blooming Hexies.

 I chose a buttercream yellow for some of the blocks. I have an extra needle if you would like to join in and applique one down. Hmm, perhaps the purple one. 

I need to press some of the edges down before appliqueing. 🙄

What else can we tackle?! How about some binding on "Shoo Spider, Shoo". I have the binding fabric all picked out. If you do not mind, will you cut the strips while I get the thread?  

And let's see . Hmmm we need one more thing to work on.🤔 How about some yarn punch?!

 

I still have all of those  thrifted skeins of wool that need to be put to good use. A woolly pumpkin would be nice. Don't ya' think?

Ooops I forgot to tell you my plans for the week. Of course, I will continue working on these projects,  and I do need to work on my Harvest Moon house. I must not forget my Otis Payne quilt. ( Are you sick of it yet? Hee! Hee. )  Oh well , that should do me.

Hexies, Jars and Bow Ties

 I stomp my feet and yell at the top of my lungs! "No I refuse an intervention!" Hee! Hee! 

Good morning y'all and Happy Tuesday . Are you wondering what I am being  so obstinate about? 😁😛 Well, you know that I went thrifting the other day.  And guess what I came home with?  

Yep! Another cookie jar and bean pot! I know. I know.  Some of you are saying , "Girl, what's up with you and cookie jars. " Hmmm I just don't know. I just love them especially if they are old. And in my defense, my Granny got me hooked on bean pots. Love my Granny! ❤❤❤

Anywhoo, I am as happy as a lark singing on a summer's day. Of course, a couple of pitchers came home with me too. 

 

In celebration of my thrifty find, I hung up one of my crock cross stitches that I purchased years ago. It matches my bean pot doesn't it. 

So now down to the nitty gritty. What am I working on today. 

Over the last few months while camping, I have been working on my hexie flowers. I have one more to piece, and then I will be ready to  applique them . Now I just have to choose a background fabric for them. 

Hmmm what else can I work on?  Another house is in the works.  Of course I am putting in the garden before the construction of the dwelling begins. 😀Every house needs a pumpkin patch doesn't it? 

Harvest Moon Saltbox in the works. 

The hoop has been moved in my Otis Payne Bow Tie. 

 Alrighty, y'all I better get off here. I got cookies to bake and beans to cook . Gotta make those thrifty finds  useful. Don't I? 

Hmmm , Ok, you caught me! I came home with another cookie jar that  I failed to mention earlier.😀  Or is this a biscuit jar?😁 Either way, let's just keep it between us though .Shall we?  Hee Hee!

Making the Cut

Butterfly Weed is in bloom and the butterflies are happy! So that makes me happy! 

Saturday Salutations! Has your weekend started out as a delightful one? I sure hope so. 

Flaming Butterflies which was finished earlier. 

Me? Well Mr. Pinker and I are camping again!  I know ! I know! I bet you are thinking - doesn't that gal ever stay home. LOL. Well since Mr. Pinker has retired we have been keeping the roads hot!  But yes, my weekend is starting off nicely. 

Anywhooo. I think it is time to cut into some fabrics

 All tied up in a pretty ribbon. I have had these fat quarters for years. 

Some of these pretties will be used in the RSC blocks. 

2 1/2" strips are cut. 

Oooh, butterfly fabric! 🦋🧡🧡🧡

Time to make some orange "On the Plus Side" blocks. 

 

I will then use some of the pretty fat quarters to cut out some hexies. I need 5 more hexies flowers before I begin to applique them .

Prepping for a New Month

  I spotted these beautiful orange flowers near our latest camp.

 Angela at So Scrappy said that orange is the Rainbow Scrap Challenge color of the month. 

So with scissors in hand, I have been cutting hexi papers and colorful scrappy rectangles. 

Cutting paper and fabric for hexies. 

I store my hexi project in the Dollar Tree totes. This is a project that I carry on my camping trips. 

Several hexies are in the works.   

This will be my Slow Stitch project for the next few days.

Like a Bandit

A great big howdy to you! Well I have been at it again!! Scouring the thrift shops for thrifty deals.😀 

A few weeks ago, Mr. Pinker and I high tailed into Alabama to search out my favorite honey holes. At first, I thought there was going to be slim pickings, but Mr. Pinker spotted this fabulous wedding ring quilt.

 

Isn't it gorgeous? 

 It has a few bad spots in it. I thought about repairing them and I may in the future , but only if I decide to pull out my vintage worn feedsacks.

Do you see the star design in the quilting? 

 I made out like a bandit when we went to the 2nd shop. Eeeeeh! Look at this hexie basket quilt!!! It's huge!!!! 

 I bet you can't guess what I paid. - $19 . Can you believe it? And there is not a thing wrong with it. 

 This sweet little pillow also jumped into my buggy as well.

 It was a great day to be a bandit that is for sure. 

 

Soon we were trucking home and we decided to stop at one more thrift shop. There I spotted this Pioneer Woman comforter with shams for only $7. 

But look the blue floral fabric is the same that I am using in my Summer Day's quilt. 

Can you imagine them being paired together.  Maybe the quilt at the bottom of the bed. I think that would look cute. Now to put my nose to the grindstone and get the Summer Days quilt complete. 

Well that's this week's thrifty haul.
