Busy Bees and Sunny Sunflower Hutch Tour

Hello there, Sunshine! Welcome. Do come in and join me.

Buzz! Buzz! 🐝🐝 A little bee told me that  it is a perfect day for a Country Clutter tour.  

My homemade hutch is filled to the brim with all things yellow which includes busy , buzzing bees and sunny sunflowers. 

So if you are up to it. Let's take a gander . 

I forewarn you. I am a maximalist . I know it is not for all, but it is just my style. 

OK Now for the tour! 

The top of the hutch is rarely ever changed, but I did tuck in a little yellow tin . 

Each shelf was layered with bowls, plates and stitching galore. 

Two large stacked Pyrex bowls were perfect to nestle some sunflowers and a stitch in.  Blessed is a 2020 freebie from Stitching With the Housewives which is as cute as a button. 

 My Mini Bee Sampler looks quite at home in the little Dollar Tree wooden box that I painted and added my Home stitch to. 

The grand rooster was a thrifty find years ago. He has been in storage for quite a spell. He was as happy as a lark to be out among the sunflowers and bees. 

Now tell me. Who can resist sunflowers captured in a mason jar? Not me!  🌻

In past posts, I have told you about my "plate addiction."😏😀 

I am sure you have already spotted bookoos of them layered behind all of the clutter. 

But I haven't told you about my Pitcher Affliction. Hee! Hee!  I have never met a water pitcher that I did not like. 

Do any of you suffer from the same affliction? 

I pulled out my mustard yellow pitcher  and plopped the The Ole' Crow Saltbox right on top of it.  Perfect for a summer display. 

 Sunflower Strut Stamp is nestled in the hanging basket of eggs. 

Let's buzz down to the 2nd shelf. Shall we? 🐝 Buzz! Buzz! 

Sunflower Sampler is gingerly propped on a stack of saucers.  The wooden bee skep was a Big Lots find over 20 years ago. I still love it. 

Front and center is The Hum of the Bees which was stitched on gray Rit dyed 14 count fabric. 

The little wooden spoon was a gift from my sweet sis and the knife sharpener was a thrifty find from New Mexico. We won't talk about my love for old "kitchen utensils".  

My one and only butter mold holds another ceramic rooster and " Dora Jane's Cabin on Sunflower Lane" . I stitched this cabin a couple of years ago, but have yet to post it. 

But we are not finished yet! The bottom shelf is overflowing with stitching and more stitching. I just could not contain myself and kept  adding more and more.  Eeeh! 

Behind all of the stitching are some of my platters. A few years ago Mom gave me a number of hers when she was cleaning out her cabinets. I enjoy having them on display as I have warm memories of the yummies that Mom used to serve on them. 

A modge podge of bee and sunflower decor with not an inch to spare. 

The little sunflower truck was a gift from my sweet friend, Joan. I believe this precious stitch is a Stitching with the Housewives design. I just adore it. Thank you , Joan. 💛

Behind it on the stacks of plates is Annie and the gang in  Bees, Bloom and Chickens . This stitch was created in honor of my Great Grandma Annie who gathered and sold eggs to buy the dining room set that I now proudly own.  

In the Apiary Stamp is one of the newest stamps that I shared earlier this year. 

Last year, sweet Vivian sent me a beautiful card  filled with treasures.  She used my Blooms of Sunshine design on the front of the card.  Isn't the card magnificent? 

Look at the precious handmade envelopes. This is a treasure. Thank you, dear Vivian. I love having this out on display year round. 💛

The precious honey pot and pitcher were moved from the counter to my hutch . This darling set was sent to me from my dear friend, PJ who spoils me rotten. Thank you again, sweet PJ. 💛

Finished on an metal tile is "Sunflower Keeper" a possible stitch that I will share in the future. 

And I must not forget my scales that are always displayed on the hutch. Stacks upon stacks, of little bowls, doilies and stitches which includes Skeps and "Zilpha's Summer Cabin" , another house that I have not shared yet. (  I need more hours in the day to do all of the things. LOL Don't you? ) 

That's all she wrote!  The Busy Bees and Sunflower Hutch Tour is complete! That was a lot to take in . Wasn't it? 

Do you think I have enough "bee themed " items? LOL.  Yeah , I think I do . Yet, I am still stitching bees and sunflowers. 😁🐝🐝🐝

I was tempted to recreate last year's display which I adore, but I went with something different. If you would like to see  2025's Bears, Bees and Sunflower Hutch Tour just buzz on over and take a look.  I think I contained myself last year and did not use as many "things". LOL

Now that the tour is complete , maybe we can sit back and stitch awhile. Maybe I can rustle up some treats in the kitchen. And I definitely have coffee and iced tea for our enjoyment.

Stacks Upon Stacks and Some Slow Stitching

And a very warm summer's welcome to you, sweet friends. 

Summer and "For Viola Berry" I have not shared it yet. 

How about we start the morning off with a sunny Sunday Quilt Stack.  

The theme : Bees and Yellows 🐝💛

I enjoy rearranging quilts and creating little stacks based on themes.

I   also enjoy pulling out different little pot holders to enjoy for the season. 

Creating plate stacks are a delight as well. Have I told you that I suffer from a severe case of ATP- Addiction to Plates. Hee! Hee! The sad thing about it is , I refuse treatment. 😂🤣

See. Canisters are stacked upon more stacks of plates.  Oh bother , what is a plate addict to do!

"But what about Slow Stitching Sunday? ", you ask. Well ,  I am a girl on a mission! 

I have  moved the hoop 4 times this week on my Pretty in Peach Butterflies quilt. Eeeh! I am over halfway finished!  I am doing a little happy dance! 

Eight more blocks to quilt. It takes me around 2 hours to hand quilt a block. The blocks measure 15" finished. 

I am also on a mission to finish a little ornament that I am calling "Winter Pines".

It is going to be a good evening of slow stitching.

Three Cheers for the Red , White and Blue- A Patriotic Hutch Tour

 

Good Friday morning, y'all! How are you  doing on this fine lovely day?    I think I will wrap up July with a great big ole' country clutter tour!  What do you think?   I haven't posted one of those in a spell. Y'all who have been with me for awhile know that I am no minimalist. All of this  junk ahem I mean treasures sure make this gal a happy camper.  Are you up to taking a peek at my patriotic hutch ? It is filled to the brim with all sorts of stitching. Come on ! Let's go! 

Of course, I have filled every nook and cranny. I started with layering in the background my Pioneer Woman plates just for a bit of color and then I brought in all things red, white and blue. 

  I did not change anything on top of the hutch. It has tins filled with dishes and old Coca Cola crates. I did add some yellow floral garland and a cherry garland to soften the lines. 

The tins hold plates and Christmas ornaments. The garland softens the lines of the hutch.

Every year I display Nanny's red coffee canister  for the patriotic season. I found the little Tea canister years ago at the thrift store. 

The Uncle Sam stitch is a new design of mine that I actually stitched a few years ago, but it has been hanging in the wings to be fully finished. It will probably be a freebie next year if I don't forget. 

Do you remember the chalkware wall decor of the 70's? (Maybe its plaster.)   Well,  I pulled out my cherry chalkware piece to prop on my shelf. It brings back  lots of fond memories.  On the stack of plates is Liberty  and House of Liberty , another future freebie. 

Oh , I forgot to mention , if you see anything you are interested in just click on the colored links and you will be magically transported back to the post with the chart. 

In the hanging egg basket, I displayed a little cherry stitch. It was a super quick piece that I stitched about 8 years ago. I found it on Pinterest but for the life of me , I cannot remember who the designer is. Do you happen to know ?  Oh bother,  my memory fails me.😏🤔

Hold it! 

Are your eyes crossed yet? 🥴🤪 I know. I know. It is a lot to take in, but there is still more. So let's shimmy down to the 2nd shelf shall we. 

The second shelf holds more stitching and an old teapot. 

The little red tea pot is actually strawberry themed. I just turned it around so the strawberries would not be seen.  The darling clothespin flag was a gift from my sweet friend, Patricia. It is always on my hutch or buffet for the patriotic season. I just love it! ❤ Thank you , Patricia. 

Front and center is Little Miss Liberty.  I shared her a few years ago. Isn't she precious with her lantern as she walks  among the flowers? 

"Little Miss Liberty" is surrounded by wee patriotic stamps including: Patriotic House Stamp, Pop Goes The Fireworks Truck Stamp, Mini Patriotic Jar Stamp,   and I even included a strawberry stamp called Strawberry Basket Stamp.

 On the silver butter plate , is U. S. A., a piece that I shared in 2024. 

 Strawberry Jam Jar is tucked in the corner on top of an overturned bowl. 

Wheww! Still one more shelf to go. As you can see,  it is filled with a modge podge of items. 

The vintage juicer is filled with a bowl of faux strawberries.  I then layered the shelf with some cross stitch pieces along with vintage salt and pepper shakers that my dear sis gifted  me. 

"Freedom Rings" is a piece I worked on last year. I haven't posted her yet.

In 2021 , I stitched a whole series of Patriotic Wordies, just simple stitches that made for quick finishes. Old Glory was one of those stitches. 

I still think the 1776 Crock  is as cute as a two dollar button and is one of my favorite patriotic stitches. I stitched a whole series of crock pieces and I still have more brewing in my head, but those are for another day.  More stamps join  1776 Crock  including Summertime U.S.A. Stamp,  and ...

Do you know who designed this darling Uncle Sam? 

I know some of you stitched him. He was a freebie a few years ago, but for the life of me I cannot find my post about this darling little fella. Anywhoo... I finished him onto a trivet. He is another favorite that I enjoy bringing out during the patriotic season. 

Well Sweeties, that's all she wrote!  😀We made it to the end of the hutch tour. It was a lot to take in wasn't it, but to be honest I just could not help myself and kept adding more and more and more!!!😂 

Uncle Sam, Miss Liberty and all of the other patriotic stitches have marched back into their storage bins, and in their place came busy buzzing bees. So expect a full tour of the bee display in the coming days.
