Fall on the Farm Hutch Tour

Hello there gourdgeous!!! Hee! hee! You know what I mean  , Gorgeous! Happy Wednesday !

I have said it before and I will say it again- Is this face not as sweet as pumpkin pie? Lol. Edna was in rare form the other day.  I think she wants to give you a kiss! Hee! Hee! She is a sweety though.

🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂

Now hold on to your britches! It is another episode of Country Clutter in the Holler ! Yep! Where I show you some of the clutter that just warms my heart. I meant to post my country clutter of a hutch last month but time got away from me as it often does.
I know it is not for all, but it sure makes my heart leap for joy. So if you are up for it , come on into the kitchen and let's look at what I did with my small hutch.  Be forewarned though there is a lot of photos and if you see anything that you are interested in , just click the colored links. It will lead you to the post with the free designs.

This year's fall hutch is called Fall on the Farm,  and it was all inspired by a recent finished piece by Little House Needleworks called Old Red Barn.
I stitched it a couple of years ago but only fully finished it  in the last few months. So I was waiting on pins and needles to display it.

Anywhoo.... Lets look at the whole hutch.  Boy, did I try to use every inch of space available.🙄🧐 I just could not help myself. LOL.

The top of the hutch stays the same with Coca Cola crates and a vintage Campbells' soup tin that holds plates.  I did add a Walmart tin sign though.

Along the edge , I draped Dollar Tree leaf garland, and then I went to town adding as much "fall down farm goodness" as I could.

In the one corner, I tucked an orangish pottery bowl and filled it to the brim with lots of wee copper molds and a vintage aluminum strainer. A ceramic pumpkin salt shaker and a pumpkin stitch completed the bowl. Do you happen to know who is the designer of the little pumpkins ? There goes my mind again-my memory escapes me.

Harvest Home looks quite cozy nestled near my bowl of copper.  Lots of crows and a big ole' yard in this stitch. I shared it last year.

Sssh ! Try to overlook the fact I have a "cookie jar" problem! Hee ! Hee!  🍪🍪🍪   I  could not resist pulling out the grand Esmond cookie jar. Isn't it lovely?
Fall salt and pepper shakers danced their way into  a little cheese dish too.

Now let's shimmy on down to the 2nd shelf! There is more to see.

This little yardbird has strutted her way all throughout my house , but for this month she landed on the hutch along with some Dollar General beads and STAMP 6 SCARECROW IN THE CORN PATCH from the Autumn stamp SAL.

Front and center is The Old Barn. I fell in love with this design as soon as I saw it. My Nanny and Papa had a grand, old ,red barn right behind their house ; the little couple reminds me of them.   There is my   Fall Y'all too, but Ooops-  I still need to correct the spacing of the apostrophe in that piece. 😏

Sweet Annie and the gang are tucked in the corner. I have a whole series of about my Great Grandma Annie and  her chickens- Edna, Alma and Dorothy. If there is any mischief, it is Edna who is doing it. Hee! Hee!   This one is called Cornstalks, Pumpkins and Chickens  which I shared in my August 31, 2020 post. I finished it on top of a wooden box.

Do you remember those mugs? I bought those this year at a thrift store along with the matching cookie jar.

Shall we strut on down to the 3rd shelf. I am sure we will find a pumpkin or two.

A little crow stitch sits in the vintage juicer. And there is the big glorious pumpkin cookie jar that matches the mugs that I showed you.

Pumpkins, tractors and chickens galore!

My sweet friend, Gwen sent me the darling John Deere tractor. I have to fight Mr. Pinker and the grandsons to keep it on my hutch.😆😅😂 LOL- But this ole' farm gal needs a tractor too!
STAMP 2 CROWS AND SUNFLOWERS and Fall 1869 Crock are sitting in the background.

My hutch is filled with gifts from my sweet sis too- like the large mason jar with fake eggs that I bought at Easter time and the bowls sitting on top of the scale.  Do  you want to see what is on the scale? Well... let's see..

I always enjoy layering lots of doilies and handknitted dishcloths on my scale and then pretty little fall pillows which include: STAMP 1 - A BASKET OF APPLES,   STAMP 3 RAKING LEAVES , and  STAMP 4 PUMPKIN HAUL

So that is my fall hutch in a big ole' pumpkin pie shell! Did you get lost in all of the down on the farm treasures? !

Are you still up to the task of seeing more clutter? Aaaah come on you made it this far. 😂😀

The little area next to the hutch is still the same- well basically. I have just added more tins.  My Grandpa used to own an old general store which was way before my time. So I have tried to create the "country store look" with all of the old tins and advertising pieces in memory of him.

Speaking of tins. My latest thrifty find is not a tin but an old oatmeal box. Aaaah ! Swoon!

My thrifted Maxwell House tin is overflowing with kitchen utensils. My newest find is the vintage Mouli cheese grater. I will find a place for it soon.

I layered 2 wee quilts on the flour bin door of the vintage Hoosier top.

The Hoosier was not decorated with  garlands of leaves and bittersweet this year, but I did add a fallish apron and hung it from the side.

Speaking of aprons, a new vintage apron was found on  a recent jaunt to the thrift store.  "Yikes $4.99 ! " said the clerk as she looked at the tag. "I am going to give it too you for half off -that is too much!"  I have to admit that I was jumping for joy and thanked her.

And last but certainly not least is my broom! LOL
"What do you want for your birthday, hun? " asked Mr. Pinker
With a twinkle in my eye, I exclaimed " A BROOM!"
Mr. Pinker looked at me like I was nuts!
"Not just any old broom but a straw broom with a wooden handle preferably red!"
Off to  Ace Hardware Mr Pinker went ; soon he returned with a big broom- no red handle like my other broom but that is ok. This will do me fine and dandy!   Now to tackle some of these dust bunnies here! 👯👯👯👯

Ok, Sweeties. Now I am going to do like my Nanny ( that is try to wrangle you into helping me😁😀) -- You grab the dust rag and I'll grab the mop and we can tackle those chores in 2 shakes of a lamb's tail. Hee ! Hee!

Yep,  Nanny always had the knack for enlisting us into healthy happy chores.

Y'all have a beautiful day!!!!

 As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Who Left The Gate Open? Spring Farm Hutch Tour

Rise and Shine!!!!  Happy Tuesday, ya'll and welcome.

Grab ya' a cup of tea and come on in . Let's head to the kitchen for I have another episode of Country Clutter to show you. Yep! It's the Spring Hutch tour.

A couple of weeks ago, all of the Easter bunnies hopped off my hutch and headed back to their bins.

 2023 Hip Hopping Easter Hutch

Oh bother! What to do!  Well that left me a bare hutch when all of a sudden I had a stampede of livestock and poultry rushing into the kitchen! 🐄🐄🐄🐔🐤🐖🐖

Well someone left the barn gate open and all of the farm animals dispersed onto my hutch shelves.  I would love for you to join me as I round up the critters.

Now you have seen all of this country clutter before. I just change out the colors, move things around and such . I do have one new piece but all of the rest is what was in my stash.

I kept the battenburg and lace valances which I use as shelf liners. I have a string of white Christmas lights that I strung from shelf to shelf for low lighting. I then added my red Dollar Tree plates.   I promise you they are in there behind all of the clutter. 😁❤

The theme was The Farm in the colors of Red and Yellow.

Let's start the tour on the top shelf where I placed my Pioneer Woman easel plaque in the corner.   I perched the ceramic chick on the  1869 Chick Crock.

My newest piece is the Daisy Farms platter that I bought at the Goodwill for just $2.00. Couldn't pass that up.

In the opposite corner is a Pioneer Woman bowl with Henry the candy jar in it.

I hung the wire basket on the side of the shelf and added a vintage crocheted potholder and eggs. I was going to add a chicken to it, but I need to find a light weight one.

Sliding on down to the 2nd shelf.

I left the vintage juicer in the corner, but did not put a bowl in it. Instead I added the Pioneer Woman cow plaque. On top of it is a darling metal milk can gifted to me by dear Sue. It stays on the hutch year round.

A farm would not be complete without a tractor; sweet Gwen gifted me the little John Deere tractor. Mr. Pinker loves John Deere . In fact we have another hutch all decked out in John Deere pieces downstairs. I am surprised he has not tried to grab this piece. Lol.

I love pulling out the Spring on the Farm series.

These stitches are based on the farm life at my Nanny's who lived just a hop , skip and jump down the road from me .Spring Pasture , Spring on the Farm   Spring Farmhouse   bring back fond memories of sitting on the porch at her house and roaming around the farm.  🐄🐄🐄🐄🐄   I still need to create an Autumn and Winter on the Farm.  I finished each of these in a Dollar Tree tray that I painted white. They are precariously stacked on top of one another.

In the opposite corner is "Bessie" by Little House Needleworks. I stitched it years ago.

Well there is more farmyard critters on the bottom shelf to round up.

Ole' Daisy the Cow has been dehorned on one side. Lol. That's ok. Maybe I will glue a small sunflower or something where the horn should be.

In the corner is one of my favorite thrifted pitchers. I placed the small vase of yellow flowers that was on my Easter hutch in the pitcher. Behind Daisy is Little House Needlework's "Hen Party".

A little hen is sitting in a vintage Jello mold which is nestled in a vintage mason jar lid.

Behind the Farm Fresh milk bottle is "Bless Our Home" by Little House Needleworks.

The small Farm Fresh sign is from the Dollar General. The Dollar General has all kinds of cute pieces like this .  Farm Sweet Farm is finished on a Dollar Tree easeled chalkboard. It stays out year round.

On my scales are 2 vintage bowls nestled together. They were gifts from my sister. I layered some vintage doiles  , added a chick and the Summer Chicks .

Well , that's it. A lot of barnyard country clutter. I sure packed it in. Didn't I? 😂😀

If you would like to see the previous Spring hutch tours, just click on the links below.   I have to admit the 2022 Spring Hutch is my favorite.

A Chickin Lickin Watermelon Hutch Tour and a Trifle

Good morning, ya'll. It's that time - time for another episode of Country Clutter . 😄 The other night I decided to change out my hutch decor from patriotic to a summer theme. I then realized that I  failed to show you my patriotic farm hutch . It was overly packed to say the least. Lots of stitching and ceramic farm animals.

Last year after the fourth, I redecorated my hutch in the farm and cow theme. I am still in  love with  last year's Summer Farm Hutch .

2021 Summer Hutch

I was about to herd the cattle and corral them on the hutch when I got distracted by some clucking hens. And that is when it hit me  This year's theme would be watermelon and chickens.

We will start off with the top shelf.

I kept the white plates some of which I stacked. The old cow planter was a Big Lots find probably from the early 2000's. On top of the watermelon bowl is Summer Pasture which I shared last year. It is based on my Nanny's farm.  I finished it on a Dollar Tree tray. The slice of watermelon is made of fabric and was a thrifty find.

Next to the watermelon is Summer on the Farm.  Nanny had the most wonderful red barn that served as a hay barn as well as a tobacco barn. Oh the stories I can tell about that old barn but digress.  In the watermelon sugar bowl is a wooden chicken.

Sliding on down to the 2nd shelf.

In the corner, is a gourd that I painted years ago  to look like a watermelon. I glued watermelon seeds around the birdhouse opening.  The stitch next to it is Summer Farmhouse.

The little slice of watermelon is from a piece of wood that I found as dad was sawing down a tree. I painted it years ago.

Lookie at my newest addition to my flock. The yellow hen salt and pepper shaker was a NC find on a previous camping trip.

The ceramic chicken bank was a Big Lots find years ago. Isn't it the cutest with a quilt on it's back?
Amy gave me the vintage salt and pepper shakers. They are always on my hutch.
Hen Party is a Little House Needleworks stitch that I completed a few years ago.
In the little milk can gifted to me by dear Sue is  my Red , White and Ewe Trifle which I shared earlier this year.
Gotta have a John Deere tractor in my hutch vignette. This little one was gifted to me by dear, Gwen. Sshhh! Don't tell Mr. Pinker or the grandbabies that I have this John Deere tractor. They will certainly try to sneak it away. 😁🚜 ( I will have to share my 2nd hutch which is decorated in all John Deere sometime)

Now we are strutting on down to the bottom shelf where you will find more watermelons and chickens.

In the corner is my vintage juicer, with Lori Holt's tractor stitch in it. Though you can barely see  it , Country Cottage Needlework's  Farm Fresh is in the corner. The ceramic red truck is a candle that I bought at the Dollar General at Christmas time. I put a watermelon in it's bed which hides the candle.

It has been a few years since I have pulled out my watermelon cookie jar. Isn't it darling? It is sitting on a large wooden watermelon platter.  Below it is my Life is Better on the Farm.

On the vintage scales, I added a doily and some thrifted bowl and a wooden watermelon. Below it is my teeny chicken quilt.

Well that's the scoop in the coop, my friends. Before you leave, I would love to share a little trifle with you. This is a teeny stitch where I used up a wee scrap of 14 count aida. It is a Chicken & Watermelon Trifle- just a token.

If you are interested choose your favorite colors and stitch this baby up. It would be a great ornament or scissor fob. I used DMC 498, 898, 310, blanc, 3345, 783, and 840.

Thank you for stopping by for a visit . Now are you ready for a big slice of watermelon?  As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Melisa

Life is like a watermelon, you know you are going to get some seeds. Just spit them out and take another bite.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!🤗🧵❤

Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. Love and miss you.

I forgot to add my Watermelon Stamp to my hutch.
