Spring Stamp SAL Reveal and a Spring Buffet Tour

Happy Saturday, ya'll.  That's  all she wrote. The Spring Stamp SAL has come to an end. 

Spring Stamp and STAMP 4-The Hatchlings 

What a wonderful time I had sharing my  sweet bluebird on its grand adventure in the gardens. We saw flowers, bees, butterflies and even a birdbath.  I can not thank you enough for following along. 

I finished my Spring Stamp Collection in an 8" x 10" thrifted frame. It was originally painted gold, but I dry brushed white paint on it to lighten it up. I added 1 layer of batting behind my stitching. 

I also made 10 pin pillows  to fill my dough bowl. 

I bought this wooden bowl at the Dollar General for $6.00 last year. I used it for my Autumn Stamps. 

 It is made up of a very light weight wood. I would love to purchase another one and paint it white for spring and summer stamps.  Don't you think that would look cute?

After completing the SAL, I decided to  redecorate my buffet in the garden theme with sweet birdies as an accent. 

I even included a fluffle of bunnies in the garden buffet display.

Spring Stamp SAL- Stamp 9 The Birdhouse

   Eeeh ! Or should I say   Chirp!!! Chirp!!!  

We have made it to the end of the Spring Stamp SAL . Happy Friday, ya'll and welcome!

I have had a ball sharing the Spring Stamps , and I am so grateful to all of you who have cheered me on. Thank you for visiting, stitching, and for the sweet compliments. Ya'll are the best!!!

Well did you guess what stamp #9 would be? We had to have a birdhouse didn't we? 

It warms my pea pickin' heart to see all of the stamps in one collection.

TIPS ON PRINTING THE CHART

So many sweet stitching friends have shared different ways in which they are able to get the charts. I would like to share them with you.    

*TIP 1- One of my dear stitching friends told me exactly how she was able to print the chart to the correct size. 

Using her phone she saved the image of the chart to her photo gallery and then emailed it to herself. From her computer or whatever device she was using she was able to then print the chart from her email and it came out without resizing it. It worked for her, maybe it would work for you if you are having trouble. 

* TIP 2 . Another stitchy friend said she did the same as in TIP 1  using her phone , but rather than emailing the chart to herself. She connects her phone directly to the printer and prints from there. Hmm! I learned something new again. 😀

* TIP  3 Another dear stitcher said she enlarged the chart on her browser and then took a screen shot of it and then printed it.  She also saved the screenshot to her photos on her iPad for reference. 

* TIP  4 Another  sweet stitchy friend said she clicks on the photos, presses the screen save buttons and then edits until she finds the photo she wants and then saves to photos. But she does not print it from photos because it comes out too small so she then saves it to books and  prints from there as an A4 size page.   How ingenious!! It works for her. 

* TIP  5  Another option shared by another dear stitchy friend , said she right clicks the image. Several options will pop up Click  "Open image in new tab". Right click this new image and click "Save Image as..." Title it and hit save. It will save to your download file. Open and print.    

* TIP 6  Another sweet stitchy friend gave a great tip on how she creates a pdf to save for later.  On the iMac she saves each page to the downloads folder. The she uses "Command" & left clicks to select each file IN ORDER. Then wile all are highlighted , she right clicks and goes down to "Quick Actions" and selects "Create PDF" All 3 jpegs are tuned into one PDF file that she then renames to the pattern and moves it where she wants. She then deletes the jpg files to save space. When she is ready to stitch it she prints out her charts. 

* TIP 7 If you are using a computer , you might try this tip shared by another sweet friend. Right click on the page you want. Save. Right click on the image- Open with "Paint" Click on Resize. Change size of image from 100 to 200 pixels. Click OK- Then click SAVE. This saves the new size in the same folder the small sized file was.  

---If you have any other tips, I would greatly appreciate it . Ya'll know I am not too tech savvy. I do well to have got this far. 😂😏

Spring Stamp SAL-Stamp 8 A Spring Day

Happy Wednesday , Ya'll!! Today is day 8 of our Spring Stamp SAL 

Miss Bluebird thinks it is a perfect day- the flowers are blooming , the trees have leaves and butterflies are all about. 

My newest stitch is called " A Spring Day" .

Just one more stamp and it will be a wrap!

Spring Stamp SAL - Stamp 7 Blooms, Bees & the Bluebird

Welcome , Welcome, my dears.  How was your weekend? I hope it was a good one. I had a fabulous weekend working on my quilts which one I showed you yesterday. Later in the evening I am going to post a 2nd post to show you the 2nd quilt that I worked on. So if you have a chance drop back by . 

Anywhoo, we are on the last week of the Spring Stamp SAL and we are sliding down to row 3 of the stamps. 

On Saturday, I shared STAMP 6 - The Early Bird.  The early bird gets the worm , you know. 

Today's stamp is called "Blooms, Bees and the Bluebird"

I love sitting  on the porch and watching the birds in the garden.  Most of my flowers are in flower pots because we have very poor soil here in the holler.  Often I will see birds on the ground near the pots and occasionally in a pot themselves. That is what inspired this little stamp. 

Notice that I backstitched a rim onto the terra cotta pot using DMC 898.  I DID NOT CHART THIS but the stripes on the bees' bodies is created using one strand of  DMC 3371 .

LANDSCAPING FOR BLUEBIRDS

You may be able to attract bluebirds and other birds through your landscaping. Plant native plants that have adapted to your climate. Bluebirds are attracted to berry producing shrubs, vines and trees such as flowering dogwood, foster holly, eastern red cedar, american elderberry as well as blackberry, blueberry and raspberry plants .

Spring Stamp SAL Stamp 3 Bluebird and Bees

A very lovely Monday to you , my sweet friends. How was your Easter weekend?  I do hope it was a delightful one. Was it a quiet one or were you hustling and bustling about? 

We had a great holiday, but we ate way too much. 

 I tried to fix cupcakes like my sister used to, but the kitchen got so hot that the icing began to melt and was soon oozing off the cupcakes . 🙄🥴But they were gobbled up in no time . 😋

 The grandbabies had a grand Easter egg hunt and by the end of the day they had pulled out their waterguns for more fun.

I wanted to also to tell you how grateful I am to all of you who have given tips on how to print the charts. Ya'll are amazing!!! Thank you for not only helping me but also other stitchers who might need help. I have been giving a variety of ways as to how ya'll may  print out the charts . I will list them below close to the charts .

Today's stitch is called "Bluebird and Bees" . 

Bees are so important to the garden so I had to include them in our stitch. They pollinate the flowers which allows the plants  to produce fruit and seed which in turn attracts more wildlife such as bluebirds.  Aren't bees the best? 

The beautiful bee skep and doily were gifts from dear Pat. They stay out in  my living room year round. Pat's sister made the bee skep. Aren't they darling?  Thank you, Pat. ❤

Did you notice the bees have little stripes on their bodies?  I used 1 strand of 3371 to create them.
