Wordless Wednesday Late Summer on the Farm

Yee Haw! It is Wednesday! We are half way to the weekend, and that is always a good thing. Welcome, Sweeties. Today  I thought I would share some late summer snapshots of the farm in this Not So Wordless Wednesday post .  I hope you enjoy!

Big Bad Brad and Gertie

We are still baling hay .
Edna looks bright eyed and bushy tailed. Doesn't she?

 Molly and her babe.

We have a lot of groundhogs this year. One of them  has made a entrance along the fence line.

Have a wonderful relaxing day, sweet friends and...

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Every day is a good day on the farm

Hugs and Stitches!!! 🤗🧵

Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. I miss and love you so much.   ❤👼

Thank you for the sweet visit. Y'all come back now, you hear.

    1. Happy Wednesday, Patti. I hope your day is off to a lovely start. It was a pretty lazy day on the farm, but all of the animals were content. Some of them are characters. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs

  3. I enjoy every look at your farm Melisa. What a beautiful view from your pond (or do you call it a "tank"?) Do you bale round bales or rectangular ones? All we see around here are round, but we saw some really big rectangular bales yesterday. I think you should see if Mr Groundhog hires out to do the postholes for your fencing - lol!

    1. Lol didn't Mr. Groundhog do a fabulous job? I had to do a double take on that hole when I saw it because it was perfect and in a great spot at the fence. LOL. There are 4 ponds at this section of the farm. This pond is the oldest. Round bale here- LOL , but we do ever so often bale a few square bales if it is a small field. Have a wonderful Wednesday and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.

  4. Just loving your Farm photos, Melisa!! I vaguely (I was really young then) recall my paternal Pipere's dairy farm...the main thing were the duckies for me and the big "moo-moos" hahaha!! And all this in French as that was my first language. I have a hazy memory of standing behind a fence and the cows coming over...enormous beasties...all named by my Mimere...even though Pipere snorted at this fancy of hers. Thanks for re-awakening my memories today;))) Hugs, Julierose

    1. Aaah such sweet childhood memories of your Pipere's farm. Were the duckies your favorite? The ducks were always my favorite as a kiddo. They would peck at my bracelet when I would visit them in the barnyard. I am sure the cows did look like big beasts for a youngin'. I always have to name the livestock too. LOL. Thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit and for bringing a warm smile to my day. Hugs.

    1. Fresh cut hay is one of my favorite "farm smells" , Ginny. I think the barns are going to be filled to the brim for the winter season. Oh yes, Edna keeps a keen eye out on what is going on. I think she was focused on the calves that day. LOL. Have a beautiful day and thank you for dropping by. Hugs.

  15. Love the photos. Tell me about the little cabin!

    1. Aaah thank you so much, Meari for asking . This little cabin is constructed from the logs of a disassembled cabin from a neighboring state. It was in the process of being reconstructed on another farm when it was burned and we were given the remaining logs. The original cabin was built in the mid 1800's . This cabin is one room with a loft and has some of my Granny's furniture in it from her cabin. I will have to take a photo of the inside and front sometime. We like to have cookouts there and sometimes camp out. I wish you a very lovely day. Hugs.
