Did I Meet My Quilting Goals? Let's See!

Did I make progress on my January 1, 2025 goals List this year?  Well a little bit.

Let's take a lookie! πŸ‘€

On January 1st , I posted four quilts that I wanted to make progress on .

JANUARY 1st 2025 GOAL # 1

🧡1. Flaming Butterflies- It is my focus quilt for 2025. I want to have it finished this year.

SO HOW DID I DO?

⭐ Yeehaw! I get a golden star for I completed this goal. This quilt was made up of scrappy thrifted butterflies that I appliqued while in AZ. It is in memory of my sister.

My heart was all "a flutter" when I completed Flaming Butterflies this year. πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹πŸ¦‹

Even Blackie approved of my finish.

Blackie says Hi!

JANUARY 1st Goal #2

🧡2.  The Easter Quilt. Do you remember that one? I did not mention it in 2024 because I was just plumb embarrassed that it is hanging on like a hair in a biscuit.πŸ˜œπŸ˜… I started it ages and ages ago, and I still do not have the quilting finished. Oh boy, I am a Miss Slowpoke. -

Progress at the beginning of 2025

SO HOW DID I DO?

⭐Hip Hip Hooray! I am on a roll! I finished it too! I get another gold star!  Excuse me a moment while I break out into a happy dance. πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

The Easter Quilt was started way back in 2019 or maybe even earlier. Anywhooo... it haunted me like a bad dream - always mocking me and saying that I would never finish it. Boy did I show her.  By April of this year , she was quilted, bound and on display. I guess I showed Miss Easter Quilt whose boss.  Didn't I?

Oh boy ! I am a movin' and a groovin' .πŸ•ΊπŸ•Ί Let's see how I did on the 3rd goal for 2025!

GOAL # 3 as of January 1, 2025

🧡3. Rainbow Sherbet- I would like to get 1/2 of it completed. It is indeed a slow stitch.  I bought this quilt top at the World's Longest Yard Sale a few years ago.

SO HOW DID I DO?

❌ YIKES! A  Swing and a Miss! Big Strike out on this one. I don't think I put in one single stitch on Rainbow Sherbet. Now what was wrong with me? πŸ₯΄πŸ˜³

Hmmm ...  THINK... THINK... THINK... Should Rainbow Sherbet move on to the goal list of 2026? We shall see.  πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€”

I am biting my nails!  How did I fare on Goal #4?

GOAL #4 as of JANUARY 1, 2025

🧡4. Mason Jar Blocks- I would also like to work on my Mason Jar blocks if I can find them. πŸ˜•πŸ˜³πŸ˜‰πŸ€¨πŸ”Ž Hmm, where did those blocks disappear to?

❌  STRIKE TWO!  Oh BUTTERSCOTCH!  The mason jar quilt blocks are nowhere to be found. Hmmm, I may have to put a BOLO alert for these blocks. Has that stitching bandit been back to my house? Hee! Hee!

Well there you go.πŸ˜€πŸ˜ Only half completed . Hmmph a score of a 50 - not very good in my eyes! But on the other hand , it is better than nothing. 😁

Oh well, I better skip to the quilt room and decide which quilty projects will be on my 2026 GOAL LIST.

Will you be making some quilty goals for yourself?

I will be gearing up for my New Year's Day start tonight. I will show it to you tomorrow.

How about we ring in the year with our  fabrics flying and our needles on fire?! Sounds good to me.  How about you?

Have a wonderful and safe New Year's Eve, Sweeties.

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,y'all

A Hip Hopping Finish and A Down on the Farm Stamp Freebie

Good Friday morning to you , sweet chicks. Please do come in and join me; I do have lots to share. A cup of hot coffee is sitting on the buffet for you to enjoy. Sugar ? Or do you like it black? If you are not a coffee lover , I do have iced sweet tea in the fridge. πŸ₯€πŸ€—

Eeeh! Woo Hoo! I am hip hopping happy!!!!
I have a finish! πŸ°πŸ‡πŸ°

The Easter Quilt is complete!

I believe I started it in 2019 or thereabouts.

I have spent "many a hours" sitting on the porch stitching away on this colorful quilt. To be honest, I thought I would never complete it.πŸ™„πŸ€£  Hee! Hee!

But here it is - in all it's glory!  In time for Easter! So to say I am hip hopping Happy is an understatement.

The Easter quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted using the Baptist Fan design.

The backing was a 100 % cotton sheet that is white with large pink polka dots on it. How perfect for an Easter quilt.

What else do I have to share? Well...

It is Farm Friday! And I will be working on a farm stitch.

I have had the hankering to stitch some farm themed stamps for awhile. Well, I finally pulled out some floss and started one.
Cluck! Cluck! Of course I had to start out with a chicken stitch. Though I no longer have chickens, I am still known as the crazy chicken lady in some circles. Hee! Hee! I just love , love, love chickens!

This little stamp is called "Here , Chick Chick"!

Just two little chickens living wild and fancy free - frolicking in the flower garden. My hens were notorious for scratching my gardens up.

I will be sharing the little farm stamps ever so often on Fridays. I have no set schedule on their release just when one comes to me, and I finish it. They will mainly be about farm life and the things that I love. So far I have over 12 in mind and more are brewing.

Now I bet some of you are wondering about the Summer SAL. I am still thinking about it. I am toying with the idea of creating a lot of different stamps with various themes and then let you choose the colors , and stamps you want in your sampler. - Just a thought.

Hubby and I will be going to town today to get groceries for the upcoming Easter meal.  We also hope to visit some thrift shops and antique stores. Fingers crossed we will find some deals. 🀞

Well, I do believe I have rambled long enough. I wish you a hip hopping happy day! Love ya' a bushel and a peck !😘❤

Just a Ramblin' About

Good evening, ya'll. I thought I would pop in for a visit. With the SAL going on I haven't really had a chance to chat with you. I so appreciate ya'll following along and stitching with me.

It  has been a busy week, and I have been fluttering about going here and there and everywhere . I sure would like a jammie day!!! πŸ˜€πŸ€—  But the running around keeps me on my toes.

The grandbabies have had ballgames the last 4 evenings with us not getting home till late at night. Balls have been hit ; bases have been ran.

Lowes had their Springfest sale So I bought 2 ferns for the porch. My ferns from last year did not survive ; well 3 of them are alive but scraggly.

Here are last years ferns. They were very happy in a shady nook by the patio.

On the porch is Mama bird.  Oh goodness, she has made a very messy nest  on the porch pole , and I just did not have the heart to remove it as she was making it.  Soon little ones  will be chirping away, and I will get to enjoy them for a few days. In the meantime, I will enjoy Mama as she flutters back and forth while I am sitting on the porch stitching away. She keeps me company.

I hung up my 1st hummingbird feeder this week and  Woo hoo!! one  day later I heard the sweet chime of a hummer. I haven't spied it yet though, but I am pretty sure it was  making its way to the feeder.

OOOH! I  have to tell you about  my thrifty find. I went to the thrift store twice this week.  Since most of ya'll are stitchers or crafters, I know ya'll will appreciate my find!!! Look at this bag filled with spools of thread- $4.99! 😲As soon as I got it home I counted 124 spools of thread . Eeeeh!! I am in thread heaven. Lol. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 Other than that it was slim pickins'  at the thrift store.

With all of the bustling about, I was able to squeeze in a bit of quilting time.

My needle wove its way in and out  along the pastel patches of my  Easter quilt which allowed me to move the hoop once.

And one night I made a wee bit of progress on Plum Street Samplers  Cinnamon Stars until my youngest grandbaby tagged a player out on 3rd and then all stitching went to the wayside for I was cheering him on like a Grandma CheerleaderπŸ“£

Well that's what's been going on in my neck of the woods.  So what about you ?  Have you been hustling and bustling about this week?  Or has it been a quiet one? It has been good to hear that the weather has been warming up for many of you so that you can enjoy time outdoors.

Well sweeties, thank you for dropping in for an afternoon visit and to listen to my ramblings.  I am sure I will drop in tomorrow for a little slow Sunday stitching rambling.

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Thank you for the sweet visit.
