Otis Payne's Bow Tie Quilt

Hello , Sunshine! How about a thrifty Thursday post? I have not done one of those in a blue moon.  Well, actually, I have been showing you some thrifty finds in previous posts, but oh well, here goes. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜€❤

A  few weeks ago, Mr. Pinker and I went on the World's Longest Yard Sale route. Down the valley and up and over the mountains we went.

As soon as we reached the bottom of the mountain the skies opened up and it began to rain cats and dogs.

Oh bother! As we pulled off the side of the road to avoid driving in the heavy rain, we saw yard salers covering up their wares with tarps and plastic. The sales would have to wait. We sat patiently until the rain died down, and then we went merrily on our way into town.

We grabbed a quick bite to eat as we waited for the sun to shine and the yard salers to open back up. Once we filled our bellies, we made our way to a quaint antique store. Mr. Pinker and I divided up and around and around I went, weaving in and out of aisles.

Soon Mr. Pinker came to me and said , "Did you see the quilt tops in the booth back there?"

"How did I miss that?"๐Ÿ˜ฒ I followed Mr . Pinker back to a tightly packed booth, and I spotted a red beauty hanging on the rack smiling brightly. Eeeeh !  "You did it, hon! " You spotted a quilt top for me! " I exclaimed in glee.

Lots of fabulous fun fabrics in this beauty. I just couldn't take my eyes off of it.

I gathered it up and looked for the price tag and then I spotted it! "Eeeeh ! Sold"  Wow what a steal!

I named this quilt Otis Payne's Bow Tie .

It is another Alabama beauty that I am anxious to put in the hoop, but it will have to wait for awhile.

Alrighty, Sweeties, that's my find for the day. What do you think about it? I am swooning. Of course, you know me - a red quilt always makes my heart go thumpity thump!

Have a beautiful day and...
 As Always...

Happy quilting and stitching, y'all

I love cross stitching and I can already hear my kids crying (when they have to clean the house), another box full of ornies. But now, I keep on stitching!!

    1. I was so happy that hubby spotted this quilt and with it being so pretty and so cheap - well, I just could not leave it behind. LOL. Oh I know what you mean about all of the "treasures" but like you, I keep quilting , stitching and collecting. Stitching makes my heart sing. I bet you feel the same way. Hopefully, both of our kiddos will look back on our stitchy treasures fondly and save them. Have a blessed day, sweet friend and thank you . Hugs.

Well, my poor hubby did not find a thing on this trip which was unusual. He usually finds a tool or something for fishing. Maybe next time. Thank you, Jenny, for the sweet visit. Have a lovely day. Earlier during the day, I had already purchased 2 more tops and a quilt. I hope to share those in future posts. We still haven't got rain; we shall see if we receive some tomorrow. LOL. Hugs.
