Berry Season Quilt and a Harvest Season Doodle

 Eeeeh Berry Season is complete!

Good morning, y'all and a lovely day to you! Yep, I have  a finish!

It has taken me all summer, but I finished Berry Season the other day - the quilting and the binding.

Hmm now why did it take me so long ? Lol I do not know , but it I guess I was dragging  my feet in the berry field.

I shared the Berry Doodles earlier this year and stitched them on 4 1/2" ( unfinished)  pieces of fabric.

These little blocks were perfect to pair with four patches that finished at 4".

Last year, I bought the beautiful strawberry fabric online. I was thrilled when I saw it in person .   I think it was perfect for this mini quilt. What do you think?

Hmmm you  know what they say- if you have a finish, then  by golly, you need a new start! Hee! Hee! I believe that is a saying LOL - Well I am sticking to it!   Soooo.....

Can I interest you in Harvest Season?  These are my doodles that I will be working on.  I will stitch them on 4 1/2" pieces of fabric and then piece them into a  quilt.  But I was thinking they would be awfully cute as wool applique as well.

If you are interested in stitching this piece,  just grab , the images. For printing tips, refer to the post Tips for Printing which has loads of tips from my sweet friends.

I am chomping at the bits to show you the darling giftie from my sweet pea,  friend Stacy. Is that little Strawberry Picker not the cutest ? I just love it!!!!  Aaah and that tad of lace- how precious .  You rocked my day, Stacy. Thank you. 😘

The border is complete on a new fall freebie. It is going to be a small that I will share in the near future.

The grandbabes start fall ball today so I will spend the evening snapping photos, cheering and of course, slipping in a bit of stitching. I plan to work on my applique pumpkins that I showed yesterday.
Enjoy  your day and ...

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

    1. I am so glad that you are feeling better, Julierose. I know you are ready to work in your sewing room with all of your lovely projects. The chilly mornings are quite pleasant here, but it is as dry as a bone. Rain may be headed our way by the end of the week though. Fingers crossed. Enjoy your day, sweet friend. Hugs.

    1. Aaah , Patti, you are so very kind. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. My stitches are not what they used to be, but I still enjoy the process so much. I think the bird with the berry is my favorite. We were about at 53 this morning and are supposed to get in the high 70's today. The sun is shining brightly - what a beautiful day! I look forward to sitting outside and enjoying this nice weather. Have a wonderful day, dear Patti. Hugs.

    1. I am so glad to have this little mini under my belt. I will look forward to using it next year. When I quilted during my girl's softball games years ago, the players would come and ask all kinds of questions. They would even bring me their socks between games wanting me to repair them. LOL. Those are some sweet memories . Have a wonderful day, Linda. Thank you for dropping by. Hugs.

  9. I'm late posting but really enjoyed you Fall parade. I'm getting out my fall cross stitch and looking forward to doing another. Question concerning color tinting -- do you use the white crayon before coloring? Thank you so much from Southeast Tennessee -- Barbara

    1. Happy Monday, Barbara. I hope you are enjoying a good day. I am so touched that you enjoyed my Fall Parade of stitches and doodles. I hope to add more stitches very soon. I do use the white color crayon first. I just apply it in small circles and then overlay the crayons. I start with the lightest color and then shade with darker colors. Here recently I also began deepening the colors with colored pencils. I then embroidery the designs and heat set them. I then add more color with colored pencils if I want a little more color. I hope this helps a bit. It is so exciting that you are getting out your fall decor. I hope you enjoy decorating with you autumn pretties. Enjoy your evening and have a blessed day. Hugs

  11. Berry Season is adorable, Melisa! The border you found for it is perfect. I love the harvest doodles, too. I'll have to print those out and stitch them - squirrels are so entertaining! Such a pretty little ornament from your friend, too - I love the little wooden frame she put it in.

  12. You found a great fabric for your little Berry quilt. It looks perfect together. The Harvest Doodles are so fun and would be really cute done in wool. Thank you. What a sweet little bird Stacey sent. I'm really liking the border hint you showed for an upcoming stitch. You are so generous! I'm cooking up a mess of green beans from the garden with some bacon and onion to go with my Grandma's mac n cheese for dinner tonight. Got all the block done on gr'son #2 quilt and laid it out. Now to get it sewn together. Love all the squirrels and nuts sprinkled here and there.

    1. Mmmm save a plate for me! Hee Hee! I love green beans. It seems like ages since I have had any homegrown. Sounds like your week is off to a great start , Ginny. Woo Hoo on getting the blocks complete for your grandson's quilt. Do you already know how you are going to set them? I hope to sit down to the sewing machine tomorrow. I have to work on some cross stitch finishes and I want to cut out fabrics for a block and do a sample block. Fingers crossed I can get all that done. LOL. Have a great day. Hugs.
