A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining , the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing and the lawnmower is broken. - James Dent.

ReplyDeleteBlackberry cobbler, one of my favorite desserts! I made blueberry cobbler last week, it disappeared fast! Summer is my favorite season, so much delicious fresh fruit and vegetables. Happy sstitching!
Cobblers do not last long here either. I bet yours was amazing. I will miss all of the fresh fruits and veggies when they are gone. Thank you for the sweet visit Gretchen.
DeleteCobbler of any type is delicious. I will have to try your skillet recipe! My husband tells the story of him as a young boy dressed in light pants to go to a family event. It was early so he and his dog took a walk. He spied ripe blackberries. You can guess what happened. . .he picked a bunch; but didn't have a container so he put them in his pockets so his mom could make a pie. . . .She said as mad as she was about the new pants being ruined, she couldn't discipline him because he truly thought he was being helpful!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteAwww what a cute story
DeleteAaah that is such a sweet story. I can just imagine how proud he was to find the berries and pick them for his mom. So sad that his berries were squished and there was no pie. How sweet that his mom was so understanding. My hubby likes this type of cobbler ; while I like my mom's cobbler which is a little more juicy with dumplings, but like you say any cobbler is good. Thank you for the sweet visit, Terry.
DeleteYour Summer Days quilt is looking awesome, Melisa. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Robin. I believe I just have 5 more blocks to go and then the borders. I need to start figuring out how I am going to quilt the border. But I am very excited about my progress. Hugs
DeleteThankyou for this nice Sunday visit Melisa.
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you , dear Maureen for the sweet visit. I am so grateful that you dropped by. I hope you have a wonderful week. Hugs.
DeleteYour Summertime Quilt is so pretty and I just love the scrappy double churn dash finish on each & every one! Of course I printed off your cobbler recipe. Sounds easy & delicious. We've got peaches in at the produce stand. Maybe I'll try a peach cobbler for my hubby! Enjoy your Sunday!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying every stitch in the Summer quilt, Susie. I hope to finish it soon. Usually hubby makes this cobbler with peaches and it is yummy! I hope you like it . I can not wait until we get some fresh peaches. Have a very lovely week.
DeleteThanks for the delicious recipe, Melisa.
ReplyDeleteYour summer quilt is fabulous!!!! .
A hug
Aaw you are so welcome, Isabel and thank you for the sweet Sunday visit. Have a very lovely day. Hugs.
DeleteYou're tempting me with your cobbler recipes again, Melisa! That looks so yummy. The Summer Days quilting is coming right along, too. I stitched up the watermelon block last summer and finished it into a mini quilt, and love it. I guess I'd better get it out and put it up!
ReplyDeleteAaah everyone needs something sweet every now and then. We certainly have been enjoying fresh berry cobblers this summer. I am enjoying every stitch in the Summer Days quilt. The watermelon block was one of my favorites. I am making a mini out of the sunflower block too. Have a great week.
DeleteI made blackberry cobbler a couple of weeks ago when family was here. Your quilt blocks and stitching are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI bet your cobbler was gobbled up in no time, Karrin. Don't you just love summer time treats? Thank you so much for the sweet visit.
DeleteThose blackberries look so tasty and bring back fond memories of my dad, Melisa. Blackberries were his very favorite fruit and my mom always whipped up a blackberry pie for him each August for his birthday :) Your quilt blocks are looking so lovely, too! Enjoy your Sunday ♥
ReplyDeleteAah what a sweet memory of your Mom and Dad , Carol. I have never had a blackberry pie. I bet your Mom's was amazing. I am moving right along with the Summer Days quilts. I hope to finish it soon. Have a great week.
DeleteLove that James Dent quote - so funny, and so understandable. Now blackberries I miss something awful, but it's so nice to see this cobbler and recipe. Bah, maybe I could make it just with blackberry juice. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteOooh that would be nice, Susan if you could . I hadn't thought about that . I love blackberries . I have fond memories picking them as a child . Thank you for the sweet Sunday visit. Hugs.
DeleteI do love your Summer Bays quilting. And the BlackBerry pudding, yum.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Jenny. It is fun to revisit each block as I quilt on it. Have a very lovely day and happy quilting.
DeleteSummer Days is such a lovely quilt and the Double Churndash worked beautifully with those blocks for the quilt. The quote reminds me of the fact that our lawn didn't get mowed this weekend. My son promised later in the week when the forecast says the temps will be a little lower. A drop in temp would sure be nice for a lot of us, I think. An Autumn Days SAL would be fun! The cobbler looks so good! I think we are going to have Orange floats after supper. Childhood reminder of the ice cream truck and Dreamsicles. So yummy!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed working on this quilt so much, Ginny. As I quilt it , I think about what I was doing last year as I stitched the blocks. Lol I hope you get your lawn mowed soon. These hot summer days have been brutal. But an Orange float sounds divine. I haven't had one of them in years. Have a great week. Hugs.
Deleteooh those blackberries look yummy and so does the cobbler! Thanks for sharing the recipe - I've heard of cobbler before but never made or eaten it - I'll have to find me some berries and give it a go! Your summer days quilt is just beautiful! xx
ReplyDeleteOh it was delicious, Joy. My mom makes a cobbler with dumplings and berries that is juicy. This one is not. Hubby has made this with peaches too. It is amazing. Thank you for the sweet visit. Have a great week.
DeleteI love the double churn dash setting for your Summer Days blocks. Looking good!
