Christmas at Underwood Lane- A Christmas Freebie

Though this is another jammie kinda day with all of the  rainy weather that has set in, I will not be staying in today.  Mr. Pinker and I are going to venture out to do a bit of Christmas shopping.

Good morning,  cupcakes and welcome.  A very Happy Tuesday to you. I hope you are way ahead of Mr . Pinker and I and already have your Christmas shopping done.   I do have some relatives that are fly by the seat of their pants shoppers and shop on Christmas Eve.๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜ฒ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ… No I won't wait that long. Lol.

Freebie Flossmas has begun on Instagram. I have been enjoying seeing all of the fabulous freebies that are available, and of course, I have been enabled . So I  have set to the task of printing off  so many for myself.  One always needs a new start. Don't you think?

One of my most recent finishes  is "Joy , a freebie"from Luminous Fiber Arts. I stitched mine in DMC 498 . I was able to stitch it up in just 2 1/2 hours. Misty posted it on July 5, 2022 on her website.

I have a wee start on Stone Street Stitchworks "Home Again" freebie. Salma has all kinds of cute freebies as well.

For me, December would not be complete if I did not share a new saltbox/ house stitch. This grand ole' house is called Christmas at Underwood Lane. It is a very simple Christmas here at Underwood Lane. I named this stitch after distant grandparents who did not live in a grand home, but their love I am sure made their children feel as though they did.

This stitch measures 73 x 70  and on 14 count aida that would bring it to about 4 3/4" x 5".

I used 9 DMC floss colors. The house is  stitched in 729 Medium Old Gold.  I have always dreamed of living in a yellow house. ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿค—

If you are interested in stitching CHRISTMAS AT UNDERWOOD LANE  ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues.  Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

Ok, sweeties, wish me luck on my shopping adventure. I have tried to purchase as much online as possible, but there are some things you just have to go to the stores to get.  Have a beautiful day and ...

A Sprinkle of Vintage- Christmas Hutch Tour

♬๐ŸŽถRain drops keep falling on my head๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’ฆ๐ŸŽต♪♬๐ŸŽถ☂

It is a beautiful rainy day, and I am going to enjoy the day in my jammies!

How was your weekend? I hope a very pleasant one.  Mine was busy with a bit of this and that.

I worked on part 2 of Joy's Christmas QAL  from Days Filled with Joy and completed 16 hour glass blocks.  Today I will continue on the Joy's Christmas SAL with Week 2's embroidery.

Well my hutch is all decked out for the holiday. It is plumb full of vintage items and all things Santa. I have to warn you- I got snap happy with my camera so there are a lot of photos. ๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ˜€๐ŸŽ… Also I want to apologize for the dark photos. This house is pretty dark especially on a rainy day.

A lot of these things you saw last year , but I did try to change it up a bit, by bringing in some of the vintage pieces that are usually in one of the bedrooms.

On the top shelf is a 1968 Santa . Hmm, do you think he looks jolly?

Next to him is a vintage Santa in a floral display. I just popped him into a peppermint bowl .  This Santa has bits of pipe cleaner used for his beard and trim. So cute!

Nanny's old canister stays out year round. It is filled with some of her old treasured recipes.

In the corner, is a Santa candy container sitting in a vintage mold; I always try to pick up the vintage aluminum molds when I see them in the thrift stores.

My all time favorite Christmas piece is this Santa pitcher.  I think he is as cute as a button.

Next to jolly ole' St. Nick  is a planter filled with a reindeer and a backwards Santa.  I think this might be  a 1950's or 60's piece.

I always have to adjust poor Santa trying to make him look like he is facing the reindeer. Lol

I have a confession- I am addicted to cookie jars. ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿช๐ŸชYes , I just love them. Will you find cookies in them? Probably not. Anywhoo  This Santa  cookie jar is a Walmart find  from a few years ago.

My 2nd favorite item on my hutch is the vintage red and green doilies.  I was fortunate to find them as a set at the Goodwill years ago.

The bottom shelf has a modge podge of items.

I found the Toyland Peanut Butter tin last year.

I only have 2 pieces of stitching - Santa  Stamp which is finished on a Dollar General frame stand.

 and...

The 2nd stitched piece is DEC 25th which was a freebie , but I can not remember who was the designer. Do you recognize it?

The top of my scales holds vintage bowls gifted to me by my sister and some homemade Christmas trees.

I draped the Santa Mug quilt over the edge of the hutch. I shared this embroidery last year. Click on the colored text  for the Santa Mug Doodle

Did you notice that I did not have any Santa mugs on display on my hutch?  I just could not squeeze one in though I tried my hardest.

Whewww! That was a whole lot of vintage country Christmas clutter to take in wasn't it?  But oh how it makes my heart sings. I appreciate the sweet Monday visit , my dears.  Stay warm and cozy and do something that you love today.

As always...

Happy stitching and decorating, ya'll

Flurry & Flakes SAL - Block 5- The Family Portrait

Good morning, Sunshine!!

The Flake family is getting all spiffy for their family portrait. Yep! It's Block #5 in my Flurry and Flakes SAL, and it is called "THE FAMILY PORTRAIT".

The whole family is ready for their Christmas photo.  Isn't Baby Flake just a doll? Just like my youngest grandbaby - never looking at the camera.  Hmmm! I wonder what mischief is going through his mind.

If you would like to embroider THE  FAMILY PORTRAIT , grab the image below.

Many of you know that I am no longer able to create clickable links to jpg downloads.  Here is a little note about that situation. . This explains about getting the charts or doodles as well.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues. . Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save .  . Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.
