August Musings

Goodbye, July! Hello August! What will you have in store for us?

Welcome, Sweeties and Happy August!

We have entered the dog days of summer. Days where I just want to sit back with a tall glass of ice tea and watch the cows mosey on down to the shade trees or pond.

August always seems to be a very busy month here.

The school bells will be ringing soon ; next week the grandchildren and nephews will be sporting their backpacks and heading back to school.

With school starting, that means there will be lots of ballgames to attend as well. Of course , Mr. Pinker and I will be front and center at all of the games.

I redecorated my seasonal tree with sunflower decor. On the top of the tree is Sunflowers  finished on a Dollar Tree plaque.

Guess what else happens next week! Eeeh, The World's Longest Yard Sale which stretches from Michigan to Alabama. Mr. Pinker  and I will take short trips throughout the week seeking one treasure after the other like quilts and quilt tops.

Still more camping trips are planned as well. I am not sure when though.

As far as what is on the stitching and quilting front? Hmmm 🤔 Well I am sure there will be bees, sunflowers, and pumpkins involved on both fronts.

Well I better get off here. There is a big glass of iced tea calling my name. Thank you so much for dropping by and ...

Have a Sunny Day!

 As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

  1. The sunflowers all look fabulous!! Oh, I'm so excited for you - the World's Longest Yard Sale is on the horizon. WooHoo!!! You're going to have so much fun. And watching the kidlets play ball is something exciting to look forward to.
I hadn't thought about it but I have been "on fire" recently. LOL I have more Halloween finishes but the pictures are not cooperating so I can post them. Today I finished a Melisa mini sampler and I'm seriously in love with it. I know there will be more stitched very soon.
Happy, happy Fri-Yay!!! Big hugs, DarleneJ

  3. I'm so happy I no longer have to think about back-to-school -- for my kids, or for teaching. Those were hectic days for sure. Much nicer to spend time stitching and reflecting. Enjoy your August.

    1. Aah I am so glad that photo brought back fond memories. I do enjoy watching the cows on these lazy summer days. Oh yes, hubby looks for old fishing supplies, farm equipment , tools and of course he has an eagle's eye out for quilts for me. LOL. I am fortunate that he enjoys thrifting with me although I am sure he would much rather be fishing if truth be told. LOL. Have a blessed day, Linda. Hugs.

    1. Good afternoon, dear Debra. I hope your day was a very lovely one. Well we finally got more rain and today was mild and not too awfully muggy. Not much was done around here . Hubby tried to fix my printer which I have trouble with. I guess I will have to break down and get one. Oh thank you so much for asking about the cows. The brown one was purchased separately at the stock yard. Most of the cows are black though. I have to admit, Bev( the brown one) is one of my favorites and she is smart. The grandsons jumped in the pool today and were thrilled to pieces. Tomorrow will be another day in the pool . Oh thank you so much for the yummy recipe. I think I have everything except the coconut milk. I will pick that up on our next trip out and the pita chips. Yum Yum! I do love soups. Well, sweet Debra, I do hope you have a blessed and beautiful month of August. Warm love and Hugs

    1. Aaaw thank you so much, Sandra. You brought a warm big smile to my day. Oh yes, I will be going along too. I usually choose the route and days we visit the yard sales and hubby drives me to where I want to go. He has a great eye for helping me find things too. There is one sweet lady that we always like to visit. She bakes sweets as well so we have to purchase some brownies and cookies for the road. LOL. I wish you a lovely and productive month. Hugs and Blessings.
