Up and at em' , Sweeties! It is a beautiful morning !
The coffee is all brewed, and I have a piping hot cup ready for your pleasure . One lump or two? Well you may want to take it black when I tell you that we have a whole bunch of junk stuff to look at. ππYep, you guessed it !
It is another Country Clutter tour.
Many of you know my "country clutter tours "are not for the faint of heart, because I am a "proud as a peacock" maximalist others call me a "Clutter bug". Either way I wear the badge proudly. Hee! Hee! So if you are up to it. Come on! Let's head to the kitchen. Don't forget your coffee! π
The lazy daisy is filled to the brim with chickens and farm related pieces.
And so is the hutch!
This year's late July theme was Summer on the Farm.
I kept out the Pioneer Woman plates that I used on my patriotic hutch and changed things around a bit. Summer Pasture was front and center. This little stitch is based on my Nanny and Papa's farm.
My newest thrifty find is the cow pitcher. I bought it last month in AL.
Summer on the Farm depicts Nanny and Papa's big red barn which was located behind their house. When Papa was farming, hay was stored there. My sister, cousins and I would load up on the hay wagon anytime that we knew the hay was going to be bailed. We would tug and pull on the bales of hay as they were stacked in the barn. In all honesty, dad did all of the work , but we sure felt like we lent a hand. After the hay operation, we would go for a swim in the nearby river. Hay baling was itchy work. ππ
Lizzie Kate's "Farm Sampler - Flora McSample" is nestled in my red scale.
πππππππππππ
I kept my thrifted cabbage chopper out and placed all kinds of stitching on it to hide the blade.
Summer Farmhouse is one of my favorites. It represents Nanny's white farmhouse built in the 1930's . Nanny had a long clothesline behind the house and often laundry was on the line. Down the hill by the road, you could often see our family truck for we visited Nanny and Papa everyday .
I stitched Farm Sweet Farm a few years ago. It is finished on a Dollar Tree easeled chalkboard. Here, Chick Chick Stamp is beside it. The little chicken yarn punch is one that I worked on last year.

The vintage juicer is almost always on my hutch. I usually change out the bowl and fill it with something.
For July, it was filled with a vintage doily and The Heifers- which is a Down on the Farm stamp.
Lots of little kitchen pieces are in the tin basket including an old pie crimper, bottle opener, canning funnel and biscuit cutter. You know all kinds of rusty old stuff. π
Well that 's it ,dear friends!
Are you still with me? Or are your eyes crossed. I told ya' ; it is not for the faint of heart. Hee! Hee!
Soon all this is going away. I am still trying to decide what will go up next. Bees? Sunflowers? Corn? Hmmm I just don't know. They all sound tempting to me.
Anywhoo if you see Mr. Pinker put in a good word for me and tell him I need another hutch. LOL.
Y'all have a blessed day and thank you for visiting this ole' clutter bug.
This is my "Cow" themed hutch a few years ago.

ReplyDeleteGood morning, Aline and Happy Saturday. Aah you are so sweet. Thank you so much for joining me this morning. I enjoyed having the watermelon display out for a spell , but I am ready for a change. That will happen this weekend. I wish you the most lovely day. Hugs.
DeleteI happen to love and enjoy your Country Clutter. I love the entire look and always look forward to all the pictures and such. I didn't accomplish anything today. I started a x-stitch project only to discover later in the day that I'd made a big mistake. Ugh!!! I'm not ashamed to admit that I tossed my hoop across the room. I wanted to work on a new little quilt but couldn't due to ridiculous reasons. My challenge has been rectified so I'm going to sew tomorrow and hopefully get the "new" little quilt made. Like you, I can't believe it's already August. Schools around here have already started so it's been strange to hear the sound of the school buses. Have a wonderful, wonderful Saturday. Lots and lots of hugs, Darlene J
ReplyDeleteAaah shucks, thank you so much, Miss Darlene. Lots of fond memories in all of that clutter. LOL. Oh gosh I have those kinds of days too. LOL I can imagine you slinging the hoop across the room . Hee ! Hee! Been there done that too. I wanted to attack my sewing machine yesterday. It was giving me a fit! Why do we have those kinds of days? They just seem to come out of nowhere don't they?LOL I wasn't able to work on my binding for my little quilt; I got sidetracked into other projects. We shall see what the day holds. I hope your Saturday is a super one and your sewing and stitching goes as smooth as silk. Lots of love and hugs.
Deletestrong black coffee in the wee hours of the morning are the best! Luv your collections,I use to decorate in prim decor & will always luv antiquing, I've had to walk away from my sewing machine quite a few times to save it from the hammer π€£
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Helen. I have been collecting for many years. It is always a joy to bring some of the things out from storage. LOL I am glad I am not the only one that sometimes wants to take a hammer to their machine. Hee! Hee! Have a great week. Hugs.
DeleteI am laughing at how your tours are not for the faint of heart - lol! We all love your tours Melisa. I am envious of that beautiful cow pitcher!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I am a maximalist for sure. I was over the moon to find the cow pitcher. I have an affection for blue plates, cups and pitchers- well anything blue. LOL. Thank you for the sweet visit, Linda. Hugs.
DeleteHave a great day! Thank you for sharing your tour!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much and I hope your weekend was just as delightful. Have a blessed week.Hugs.
DeleteAnother lovely tour, Melisa--I just really love those blue and white plates...I have a couple of dessert plates in the Old Bradbury pattern, but would love to get a whole set (hah $$$) .
ReplyDeleteYour hutch is so full of lovelies--nice work setting it all up..
.hugs for a great weekend... Julierose
Oh thank you so much, Julierose. I have a thing for plates especially blue plates or ones with flowers on it. I have really enjoyed using these this summer. I wish you a lovely week. Hugs.
DeleteYou definitely need another hutch! Those blue dishes are beautiful! Thanks for the wonderful tour, by the way, no sugar in my coffee but definitely cream. Happy stitching!
ReplyDeleteOh I know you love blue like I do , Gretchen. They have been a joy to have out for the summer season. I guess it is time to change them out though. Thank you for the sweet visit and cream it is. Hee! Hee! Hugs.
DeleteOh, I love your tours! It reminds me of my old neighbor who decorated her hutch for the seasons and it was so fun to look at it while visiting with her. I'd vote for a mix of sunflowers and bees =). Mr. Pinker.... there must be a hutch somewhere you can find to add to the room for more display area? Sounds like a great challenge for him. Enjoy your Saturday.
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Deb. I am so glad this brought back warm memories. When I was young, I always enjoyed seeing what my grandmothers had on their tables and in their curio cabinets. Maybe that's where I got my fascination with plates and knick knacks. LOL. Oh yes, I have been hinting around to Mr. Pinker . Now to find a free wall. Hee! Hee! Have a wonderful day. Hugs.
DeleteYay for the hutch tour, Melisa! Always a treat! Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Robin. It was fun to mix the farm and watermelon pieces for the month of July. I did not use some of them last year. Have a wonderful week. Hugs.

Oh Alex, I have been thinking of you the whole time and keeping you in my prayers. I know what you mean about it being bitter sweet. I bet you look at her sweet children and see your sis in them. I am so glad you were able to visit your sis. I cannot imagine how hard it is being so far away from her . I still visit my sis daily as well as take care of her house which brings me comfort.. It is so hard when one loses a sister. Sending you a big and gentle hugs and lots of love.
DeleteMelisa, like your style! The hutch looks amazing. It take a huge talent to take a bunch of clutter and turn it into a showpiece! Well done! p.s., I prefer Teaπ«
ReplyDeleteAaaw Gail, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I enjoy "playing " with all of the things I have collected over the years. Some of them brings back lots of fond memories. I have the tea poured and ready. Hee! hee! . Hugs.

DeleteYour farm hutch is so cute, Melisa! I love seeing all the cute things you've collected for this theme - the blue and white dishes are so pretty. And the farm stitches are so fun. Thank you for sharing them with us!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Diann. I use a lot of the same ole' things from year to year, but it is fun to change out the colors or rearrange them. It is a challenge. LOL. Have a wonderful day. Hugs.
DeleteLoving your hutch tour as usual! But where would you put a new hutch if the Mr. found one for you? LOL :-D
ReplyDeleteLOL that is what Mr. Pinker said. Hee! Hee! We would have to find an empty wall space first. I do love my country clutter though. Thank you for the sweet visit and giggles. Hugs.
DeleteI'm also a maximalist so I love seeing everything. Really like how you use unique items like the trays and easels to finish off your stitch projects. I unfortunately am not able to change things our for the seasons of other reasons :) but just move things around when I get tired of them being in the same place and need a new look. I'll take my coffee black, please.
ReplyDeleteAaaw it is fun to collect things isn't it Tammy? Especially if they bring fond memories or of things you have created. I do the same thing- just move things around the house; those slight changes can make a difference for a fresh look. Black it is- I have a mug waiting. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteOh how I enjoy your tours. Everything looks so nice and interesting. How fun it would be to have a cup of coffee with you. Stitching is beautiful.

I also love your hutch. Is the pattern for what looks to be a farm market stand on your website. You have it tucked behind a red truck so it is hard to see, If available, can you direct me to the pattern. I have enjoyed and have stitched so many of your stamps and houses xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou have so many vintage treasures. SWOON! I love the blues in your late July decor.
