Pumpkin Stew- A Halloween Freebie

A very lovely day to you , Punkins! Please join me for  a cup of tea. And how about a Peanut Butter Cornflake  Bar?  Oh, they are so yummy and a family favorite here in the holler.

While we are munching, I would love to share with you my latest addition to my Halloween decor.

Winifred the Witch has pulled out her black cauldron and has a magical stew boiling.

Mmm. Can you smell it ? It is Pumpkin Stew.  Dare you taste her autumn brew?  Go ahead she does not mind.  All is well  because Winifred is a good witch so no evils spells or hexes will come our way.

This toothy jack is my inspiration for my Jacks. I just adore him.

Winifred certainly has a green thumb - not only can she grow large plump Jacks, but she has a candy corn plant as well.

I stitched Pumpkin Stew on 14 count tea dyed aida. The design size is 83 x 80 and on 14 count that would measure about 5 7/8" x 5 3/4".  I used 12 DMC floss colors which include 3799, 648, 407, 301, blanc, 640, 356, 610, 730, 317, 680 and 830.

I  wanted to finish mine on a big ole' pumpkin, but I have yet to find one so I went to the storage shed and found this little white plaque to pop it on. When I find the right finishing piece, I will refinish it.

  12. Winifred is a witch in need of a hairstylist! LOL So cute! Thank you for sharing this new stitch with us! I have had pumpkin/squash soup many times. It is so good on a cool Fall/Winter supper. Not magic like Winifred's, though. I'm sure hers is amazing! I would love a world where candy corn grew on a vine! Wouldn't that be somethin'!

    1. Lol Winifred has some wild hair doesn't she? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I guess she is just too busy brewing up a storm to worry about her looks. Lol. I have never had pumpkin soup; it sounds very yummy. I have a recipe with pumpkin , noodles and all sorts of things in it , but I haven't made it in years. My girls used to love it. I am going to have to look it back up. Oooh Candy Corn on a vine would be delightful ! Have a great weekend, Ginny and thank you sweet friend.
