A Buzzy Day at the Farm

Good afternoon, Honey Pies. Well put on your farm boots; we are headed back out to the farm to  visit the bees, and hey , we may even see Edna and the gals.

Oh, it is such a beautiful day.πŸ€— Look at the bright blue sky with fluffy clouds.  It will be time to cut the hay again in this field  soon.

Up the hill and pass the barn and to the bee lot we go.

Why look at there ! There is a quilt hanging near the bee boxes. Eeh! You guessed it I have a wee finish to show you. πŸ˜€

Let's go take a closer look but be careful the bees are buzzin' all about.

I finally finished my Bee Skep quilt that I started last year.

The Bee Skep Quilt measures 24" x 24 " . I used scraps of wool, upholstery fabric and cotton to create this quilt.

The blocks are 6" finished. I used the stem stitch to create grooves in the bee skeps.

Doesn't it look darling on the large table bee box. We only have one side of the box in operation right now. The bees gladly obliged and allowed me to drape the quilt over the box. πŸ˜€πŸπŸ

Now where is ole' Edna?  Normally, she would be in the field behind the boxes. Hmmm.  She is nowhere in sight.

Aaah there she is . Down at my sister's house  enjoying a bit  of shade. "Are you going to come see us, gal?"

"Nope" she says.

There are the gals just a few feet away from Edna. Bev the red faced cow still has not returned to this section of the farm yet, but she will be here soon.

Thank you for dropping by for a visit and have a beautiful day.

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Melisa

The hum of the bees is the voice of the garden .

Hugs and Stitches!!!!πŸ€—πŸ§΅❤

Dedicated to my baby sister, Amy.  The farm is not the same without you. Love and miss you, Amo

  5. Fabulous photo shoot Melisa! Another gorgeous quilt πŸ’›πŸ’šπŸ©·πŸ€ŽπŸ§‘ 🐝🐝🐝🐝 Lovely to see your bees. We’ve been watching the bees in our garden - they’ve been enjoying our Cosmos flowers, Ice plants, runner bean flowers and sun flowers, and there have been so many different bees of all sizes.

A garden near us has Mason Bees, and these bees have their own individual homes in the ground and they are completely covering this lady’s small lawn. They are fascinating.

πŸ™‹‍♀️Have a lovely day Melisa. Hugs from Barbara @flashinscissors πŸ€—πŸ˜˜πŸ™‹‍♀️
