Bears, Bees and Sunflowers Hutch Tour

Buzz! Buzz!   A little bee told me that it was time for a country clutter tour.

Good afternoon, Sunshine and welcome!
My hutch was invaded by bears and bees for the month of August.🐻🐻  🐝🐝 And I must say I was one happy gal! 😀 Would you like to take a closer look at all of the sweetness?

Oh, please do join me. I am sure I can rustle up some cookies and a cup of java as we scour over the old wooden cupboard.

I rarely change anything on top of the hutch. There are Coca Cola crates , a large Campbell's soup tin that holds extra plates and reproduction vintage signs which hang on the wall.  However, I did add a  vintage peanut brittle tin and a small quilt which I draped over the Coca Cola crate.

Soon I was ready to fill the hutch; I began with the plates. I have a strong love for Pflatzgraff dinnerware. In fact, I started collecting it when I was a teenager.  I layered the vintage Village pattern plates on each shelf.

Below the plates is Skeps which I shared  last year.

On the bottom shelf, I even included the  matching Pflatzgraff cookie jar. Because my shelves are short, I had to turn the cookie jar lid upside down - a perfect spot to add some sunflowers.

The vintage cookie jar sits atop of stacks of plates. The old canning jar was a gift from my sis as were the salt and pepper shakers.

Speaking of cookie jars, there was a 2nd cookie jar on the shelf as well.  You know me and cookie jars. 😁😀❤

This darling teddy bear cookie jar . He is old and chippy but oh so cute - well at least in my eyes. I purchased this little fella a couple of years ago.

A vintage yellow planter was perfect to tuck into the old vintage juicer. Busy Buzzing Bee and an old crocheted doily was placed in the planter.

I could not resist this darling chippy bear cookie jar.

An old butter dish bottom was filled with a little rolling pin from dear Joan  , a salt shaker from my sis and "A Bee, C Pinkeep" ( a future freebie - perhaps next year).

I always enjoy decorating the vintage postal scale. My sister gave me a couple of little flat bowls that sit on top of the scales which I fill with treasures for each seasonal theme.

Let's buzz to the middle shelf. Shall we?

Front and center is a small dough bowl filled with lots of vintage kitchen utensils, a Dollar General metal bee and Beatrice's Bee Manor which is a grand ole' house with plenty of bee skeps.

Vintage honey jars and honey bears are tucked in the corner on the 2nd shelf. 🍯🍯🍯

Hanging just above the honey jars is the most darling bee stitch gifted to me by sweet Barbara. It is a treasure and is sweet as honey. Thank you dear, Barbara. It is one of my favorite bee stitches! 💛

Now let's make a bee line to the top shelf. There are more bees and bears to be seen. 🐝🐝🐝

In the vintage divided brown dish is more Hull bowls and Honey Jar- From the Mason Jar Series which I stitched a few years ago.  In the corner is "Sunflower Keeper" a possible freebie in the future.

A vintage yellow Pyrex bowl was the perfect  place to tuck more busy buzzing bee pieces .  A little Boyd's bear , a gift from my sweet friend Joan is on guard to make sure no one steals any honey. Bees  and Bee Sampler   are tucked in the bowl.

Blooms of Sunshine was finished on a Dollar General plaque ; it is propped on top of a Pflatzgraff candle holder.

That's my Bear and Bee Hutch Tour in a nutshell. Do you think I could squeeze one more bee stitch in there? Hee ! Hee!  Or a cookie jar? 😄🙄🥴
Well, I won't try this year because the bees are going to buzz away and the bears will follow-  pumpkins will be rolling onto the hutch soon.

Thank you for joining me today. You made the visit ever so sweet.

Now let's get to that cup of coffee!

Stay beautiful!

As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Thank you for the sweet visit.

  1. Oh, me oh my, a new hutch tour always excites me. Your hutch tours are always so much fun and full of lovelies. So, when I stop by with my water gun to chase off the varmints I'll be expecting a personal hutch tour. LOL Someday I need to share my "strawberry" hutch in the dining area of my kitchen. Makes me smile every time I walk by it. I hope you're feeling better and enjoying your day. Lots and lots of hugs my friend!!!!! DarleneJ
