Sunday Rambles and a Strawberry Freebie

Good afternoon y'all and a very Happy Sunday to you.

Woe is me ! These last few days I have been  dealing with internet troubles .

It has been as slow as molasses and difficult to get on., but I am sure many of you have had those troubles at some point or another. So please do forgive me . I hope to play catch up with all my blogging buddies and on IG this week.

Happy May, Sweet friends!

During my downtime, I have been busy working in the gardens.

This is my "Wild and Woolly Garden". It follows the edge of driveway up the hill. It is filled with  lirope, ,lemon balm, hostas, and lilies.  Oh and I must not forget; it is filled with weeds as well. 😂😛I will be planting zinnias in it soon.

Mr. Pinker bought me a new sunny hummingbird feeder. I believe he bought it at Rural King. Isn't it pretty? The hummers sure like it.

I moved my hoop in the Alabama Beauty quilt.

Isn't this fabric yummy? I will continue the quilting tonight.

I have also been working on the binding on Darlene's quilt.

Another finish this week  is this wee flag mug rug. I quilted it while camping in Texas last month. I added the binding this week.

Earlier today I finished the "July " bouquet in  Jeannette Douglas Mini Bouquet Sampler.

April 28th progress.
May 5th's progress. The July bouquet is complete.

I am using my own colors . Many of the flosses that I am using are mystery flosses; that means I lost their labels. 😏

May I interest you in a basket of berries! Don't these look so tasty and juicy?

Our last crop of strawberries was in 2022. The strawberry farm was not the same without my sister.

I do however have  a stitched basket of berry sweetness and it is called the Strawberry Basket Stamp

  1. I'm sorry you had computer/internet problems. I did, too - ugh!! Someone decided to infiltrate my system. I took my laptop to my favorite dudes, and they were able to remove the junk. I'm taking it back this week so they can run a scan and check for other junk. It's just tiresome that people have to be so mean.
I have a special birthday (to me) this summer, so I've gone down a 'rabbit hole' to make something to celebrate. Started on May 1 so I'll be staying busy. but I'm excited. LOL
Love the strawberry goodies - thank you for sharing. Big hugs, my sweet friend. DarleneJ

    1. Oh how frustrating, Darlene. I am so glad that you were able to have someone work on your laptop. Hopefully, they will be able to remove anything that is slowing it down this week. Eeh it is exciting that you have a new project in the works and I am glad it is for you! You deserve it. I hope you enjoy every minute working on it. Don't you just love it when you get that spark of creativity? Have a beautiful day, sweet friend. Hugs.

  3. Mmmmh, yummy, it's strawberry time. I can eat these fruits all day long.
Your stitching looks wonderful and so your garden. I am a little disappointed cause some of my plants got cold last week and died. We had some warm days and then very frosty temperatures. Hope it will be better.
    Thanks for the little freebie.
    Best wishes, Gabi

    1. Oh I can too, Gabi. I just love strawberries with just a tad of sugar or better yet just straight off the vine. LOL. I am so sorry that you lost some of your plants last week. Do you have any runners coming along ? Perhaps you will be able to replace them at some point. I do hope that the others are productive so you can enjoy them. Have a wonderful afternoon and Happy stitching . Hugs.

  6. Your garden looks lovely, Melisa! It's just about planting time here in Colorado, but it's supposed to be cold and windy all week - not nice gardening weather. I hope to get to it soon, though. I love all your strawberry designs - looking forward to stitching them!

    1. I look forward to seeing your garden this year, Diann. Are you going to be putting in some tomatoes this year? It seems like your garden did nicely last year didn't it? It has been rainy here today, but we were able to go out between showers and plant some veggies . Have a wonderful evening. Hugs.

  10. 88% is very good in my book. I made progress on my projects, too, but I'm not juggling near as many as you are! We are having warm days, up into the 50's - 70's, but the over nights and early mornings are pretty chilly. It's currently 38 degrees outside. We've had rain the last couple of days and I really need to get out there to weed but I admit I am a wimp when it comes to those temps. Ha! Your new feeder is so pretty! I'm sure the hummers just love it. I haven't seen any around our feeder yet, but we're ready when they arrive. Thank you for the sweet berry basket stitch. Your Mini Bouquet Sampler is just beautiful! I'm very disappointed that I missed that SAL. I bet your garden is lovely when things bloom.

    1. I am so glad it is beginning to warm up, Ginny. I have to admit that I am a wimp when it comes to cooler weather too. Lol. I bet you are anxious to be out in the garden more. Oh those pesky weeds that need pulling! I have been doing the same; it's a never ending task isn't it? We finally have 5 hummingbirds visiting our feeders. There may be more, I am not sure . There is also one lone dove that sits below the feeder. It is a treat to see them. Thank you so much for the sweet visit and hope your week is going well . Hugs.

  13. I have been attacking a couple wild and woolie spots myself over the last day or so. Thankfully, I love to weed but my arms/hands only do so much but I'm making progress! Have been picking strawberries, too, but the latest rains have made them a little watery-tasting. But I'll never complain about them when they're right out my door! Have a great week!
