Tulips and a Trifle - An Itty Bitty Spring Freebie

Happy Farmhouse Friday, ya'll!!!!

Jack wanted me to extend his gratitude for all of the kind compliments from Wednesday's Farm visit.  I have to admit he is a bit of a diva and quite spoiled on the farm.

For Farmhouse Friday, I am working on a basket sampler.  I use baskets for everything. You will see what is in the basket soon.

Today I am dreaming of tulips. Our tulips have not bloomed, but they will soon.

I have been playing with scraps of fabric .

I sewed scrappy strips of goodness willy nilly and then cut out the units into a large tulip shape.

Four blocks pieced and appliqued. I will probably make 20 blocks .

The blocks measure 10 1/2" unfinished.

Can I interest you in a cookie? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

It is a no calorie cookie but full of sweetness. I was in the mood to stitch a trifle yesterday and whipped up this little bunny with a tulip in no time flat.

If you are interested in stitching Bunny & Tulip Trifle  ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues.  Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

This is a choose your own colors chart, but if you are interested I used DMC 898, white, black, 3828 and 937

                 A plate of trifles.

I have shared a number of Spring Trifles. I do need to get busy on other seasonal trifles . These are teeny stitches and are great to use up some of your scraps of cloth . To see how I finished my trifles click here.

If you missed any of the previous trifles, click on the names to go to the post with the charts. They are  Love Trifle ,   St. Patty's Day Trifle ,   Sheep Trifle ,   Bunny Trifle ,     Strawberry  Picker  , May Basket ,  Love Bird Trifle ,    Nesting Bluebird   ,Bunny Trifle , Carrot Trifle , Patriotic Ewe Trifle Chicken & Watermelon Trifle , Bee Skep TrifleLittle Jack Trifle  .

Alrighty , sweeties that is what I have been up to. Well except for being elbow deep into  spring cleaning . Got to get rid of those winter dust bunnies.  Have a wonderful weekend and ...

As always...

    1. These scrappy tulips have been so much fun to work on . I worked on a few more today. I have a bag of scraps that I am hoping to dwindle down. I am going to have to check to see if my tulips are beginning to peek out. Spring will soon be here. Happy quiltiing.

  2. The trifle is lovely, especially calorie free. =) I'd be interested in the tulip block. Hope it will show up on a stitching day. My tulips are up, but not blooming yet. However, my son has bought me two different pots, one after the other, and they bloomed. One with white centers and one with black centers, both red. I look forward to seeing them again next spring. =) My amaryllis second stem has *4* blooms again. That's 8 from this one plant. It's from last year, and the blooms are huge. 5.5-6" across. Love them!

    1. Oh thank you so much, Susan. I have been working on piecing a few more tulips. I will have to share my little pattern in a future post. How sweet of your dear son to bring you flowers to enjoy. I have never grown an amaryllis. I would to give it a try some time. Yours sounds amazing. Hugs.

  7. I agree with everyone, Jack is a very handsome boy!! Love the Trifles, great for those is this too small to saves that I cannot throw away, lol. Loving your Tulips, also a great way to use up small scraps. You know we have paid for every 1/4 inch of our fabric cuts, can't waste them, that is for sure!! Warm hugs to you from sunny Arizona.
