St. Patrick's Day Hutch Tour

It's another  wonderful Wednesday!!!  How are you doing , my sweet friends?  I am over the moon; my daughter is home from active duty for a short visit.  We went and picked her up from the airport yesterday. Pretty much an all day thing.   Mr. Pinker and I will enjoy a few days with her before she heads back to her home.

Any whoo. Today I thought I would share my country clutter of a hutch. I meant to share my St. Patrick's Day hutch earlier, but time ran away from me.

I started off using my  mismatched lace valance curtains that I am using as shelf runners. I added a string of Christmas lights along the shelves. Though the hutch is by the window, it is a dark corner; the lights certainly brighten it up. I then added my Goodwill Pfaltzgraff plates.

Of course I had to add some Dollar Tree plates to the mix .

I then pulled out my big pieces - like my Nanny's old green glass flower vases and the Pfaltzgraff tureen.

Then I was ready to have some fun and throw in the clutter. Oh glorious clutter!!!!

Top shelf clutter.

In one corner is Hands on Designs "Year in Chalk- March". I finished it on a thrift store plaque.

In the middle of the shelf is one of my cabbage tureens and a vasoline glass nesting chicken.

In the other corner - a stack of plates, a vintage glass flower vase and "Lucky" . I do not remember who the designer of this piece is . Are you familiar with it?

Let's hop down to the 2nd shelf where I have my big tureen on a stack of plates.

In the little white creamer is "March Squared"  a freebie by Linda Stolz of Erica Michaels ,and it is on the  Rainbow Gallery website in the 2003 Cross Stitcher's Surprise series.

Next to it is another cabbage and The Trilogy's "Lucky Tree" . The chart was gifted to me by a dear friend, last year. I finished it on an old trivet. I love it!!

On a vintage vase sits a jadeite nesting hen. Tucked in is a darling crocheted dish cloth, a gift from another dear friend. Isn't it precious?  On my old scale is a little platter with the Shamrock word stitch which  is a freebie from Helen D  that she so generously shared on her Flosstube # 76

Hold on to your bloomers! We are hopping down to the bottom shelf.

I changed out the bowl in my vintage juicer to a green Dollar Tree bowl and tucked in some  Dollar Tree flowers .

Shamrocks, Gold and Chickens is finished on my box and is in the corner. Lots of little salt and pepper shakers gifted to me from my dear sister sit on top.

The little sheep sits on a wool Shamrock mug rug which is a free design from Shabby Fabrics. The pansy needlework was a great thrift store find.

Next to it is  "Got Luck?"  which is a freebie from Paulette Stewart of Plum Street Samplers .

Well that's my St. Patrick's Day hutch in a great big ole' nutshell.

Now I have one more stitch to finish and add to it- Threadwork Primitives "Lucky Shamrocks".  It will join in with the mix next year.

Before you leave , I want to tell you how grateful and appreciative I am that you take the time to stop by and visit. ❤ 🤗😊And thank you for all of the sweet  compliments on yesterday's stitch that I shared here and on IG.

Well you have a wonderful Wednesday .  Don't forget to wear your green tomorrow. As always...

Happy Stitching ya'll

Melisa

Let your dreams be your wings!!

Hugs and Stitches and St. Patrick's Day Blessings!

Dedicated to my sweet baby sister, Amy . Every time I look at my hutch I think of her and how excited she was to find thrifty treasures. Love you, Amo. ❤❤❤

  2. Hi Melisa,
I am interested in stitching the darling "March Square" so I clicked on the link and discovered a whole year's worth. I was excited until I realized that the thread choices are not DMC. Do you, by chance, know of a conversion chart to DMC or where there is a color version of the stitches? Thanks so much! I love your blog!

    1. Good morning and Happy Wednesday, Missy. There are all kinds of sweet charts on the Rainbow Gallery site aren't they? I have stitched a bunch of them and still have more I want to do. I have not found a conversion chart. I ended up choosing colors at random that I liked at the time. If I end up finding one, I will certainly post my findings. Thank you so much for the kind words and the sweet visit. Hugs

  5. Happy St Patrick's Day to you and yours Melisa. We had a wonderful two weeks travelling around Ireland some years ago, part of our marvelous UK trip. Robin has a little Irish blood in the mix, we are told, as for me its Scots and English.
