Tulips and a Trifle - An Itty Bitty Spring Freebie

Happy Farmhouse Friday, ya'll!!!!

Jack wanted me to extend his gratitude for all of the kind compliments from Wednesday's Farm visit.  I have to admit he is a bit of a diva and quite spoiled on the farm.

For Farmhouse Friday, I am working on a basket sampler.  I use baskets for everything. You will see what is in the basket soon.

Today I am dreaming of tulips. Our tulips have not bloomed, but they will soon.

I have been playing with scraps of fabric .

I sewed scrappy strips of goodness willy nilly and then cut out the units into a large tulip shape.

Four blocks pieced and appliqued. I will probably make 20 blocks .

The blocks measure 10 1/2" unfinished.

Can I interest you in a cookie? 😃

It is a no calorie cookie but full of sweetness. I was in the mood to stitch a trifle yesterday and whipped up this little bunny with a tulip in no time flat.

If you are interested in stitching Bunny & Tulip Trifle  ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues.  Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

This is a choose your own colors chart, but if you are interested I used DMC 898, white, black, 3828 and 937

                 A plate of trifles.

I have shared a number of Spring Trifles. I do need to get busy on other seasonal trifles . These are teeny stitches and are great to use up some of your scraps of cloth . To see how I finished my trifles click here.

If you missed any of the previous trifles, click on the names to go to the post with the charts. They are  Love Trifle ,   St. Patty's Day Trifle ,   Sheep Trifle ,   Bunny Trifle ,     Strawberry  Picker  , May Basket ,  Love Bird Trifle ,    Nesting Bluebird   ,Bunny Trifle , Carrot Trifle , Patriotic Ewe Trifle Chicken & Watermelon Trifle , Bee Skep Trifle ,  Little Jack Trifle  .

The Ewe House- A House Freebie

Hello there , sweet ewes.  A very Happy Tuesday to ewe!

Grab a shepherd's hook ! We have some sheep to tend to.

Thankfully, they are all in a row except for one straggler who has somehow made her way to the roof of the house. How she made her way up there- I  have not a clue. She may be a bit fiesty  so you better watch out.

This is my newest house stitch called "The Ewe House".   A green house just perfect for March.  It is stitched in DMC 3363 ( Medium Pine Green ) and 523 ( Light Fern Green). I even included some shamrocks in the urn beside the house.

If you are interested in stitching The Ewe House  ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

I stitched The Ewe House on 14 count aida that I tea/ coffee dyed myself. It is a small measuring 71 W x 73 H which on 14 count measures about 5 1/8"x 5 1/4". Surprisingly there are 15 floss colors in this piece. I was surprised when I counted them. They include DMC 610, white, 3371, 815,841, 523, 838, 739, 3346, 924, 3858, 413, 3363, & 223.

Well , sweeties that's my newest house in my neighborhood. I am in the construction zone working on a new one as we speak.  It is going to be a saltbox, and yes! there will be some critters to wrangle up in the next one as well. Lol. Gotta love our furry friends.
Ewe have a terrific Tuesday .
Hey, don't you forget- You are awesome !!!!

As always....

Happy stitching, ya'll

Wild an Woolly Weekend

Good Monday afternoon, ya'll. Whooa! We had one rootin,' tootin', wild and woolly weekend. On Friday, the storms rolled in . Luckily school was let out for the youngins. I had visited my mom and dad . Soon it was time for me to leave and as I made my way down the long driveway, low and behold a big ole ' tree had fallen across the road and into the driveway. I was able to squeeze by the tree and make my way home with out any mishaps.

By dinner time, the wind and rain blew in from the west, and within a short time we lost electricity, water, and Internet service. That meant kerosene and oil lanterns were pulled out and we sat about like knots on a log. Oh bother 😊.

All about  our neighborhood trees fell, but  to our good fortune none fell in the holler.  We were not fully back on grid until late last night, but still our Internet service is as slow as molasses.

Our day is bright and beautiful today!!!🌞🌞🌞

 The grass is getting greener.

And we have a few blooms.

Soon Spring will be here.
I have to make a confession with all of the free time that I had, I did not get a lot accomplished. I have no excuse other than being plumb lazy.

I did however finish stitching Heart in Hand Needleart's Grow Whirligig which was gifted to me from dear Stacy.

I pulled out my finishing supplies and got to work. I knew I wanted it to be a circle. I just used a candle lid as a template.

The fabrics that I used were from old clothes. I can not tell you how many finishes I have got out of a pair of black and white gingham capri pants that I bought years ago. I just ripped the fabrics and glued little ruffles to the back of my stitch.  The little bunny  in this stitch is too stinking cute!!!

I saw my first butterfly of the season a few days ago and appropriately it was at my sister's  home. So today I will be working on my butterfly quilt. I have 7 more blocks that I need to add bodies to. I plan to have a total of 20 blocks before deciding sashing and borders.

THIS WEEK'S GOALS

1. Work on butterfly blocks.

2. Begin patriotic cross stitch

3. Finish new saltbox

4. Quilt Grandma's Love

🐑 🐑 🐑  🐑  🐑  🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑 🐑

A new house is in the works. It will be completed very soon. Lots of little ewes at this home.

Alrighty , ya'll I wish you a week of  joy , love, and beauty and of course lots of stitching and quilting time.

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Cabbages, Leprechauns and Shamrocks - St.Patrick's Hutch Tour

It's rather a blustery day!  Good afternoon, ya'll. The rain has been coming down in sheets. Thankfully, school was out today due to the impending weather.

Cabbage , leprechauns and sharmrocks!!!!
The hutch is all decked out in greens and St. Patricks's Day Country Clutter.   I just have a wee collection of items, but I certainly have crammed every nook and cranny on these shelves. ☘☘

Lots of stitching and most of them are freebies that I have stitched over the years.

I layered white ironstone plates, vintage green transferware and some shamrock plates in the background, and then I got busy pulling out the fun stuff. I always have to add my few pieces of ceramic cabbages.

On the top shelf is the darling cabbage tea pot that I showed you in a previous thrift haul.
Why hello there,  "Erin Ewe".  Erin is sitting in her Irish cap with sprigs of shamrocks tucked in beside her. Is she not a doll?

Beside her is a freebie from Notforgotten Farms called "Shamrock Basket" . It was one of my 2022 St. Patty's Day favorite stitches.

Behind the stitches is an old Tandrotine paint thinner bottle. I just love the colors and graphics. It is a treasure of my dear sister who loved to collect old bottles and vintage items like I do.

Years ago I found the cabbage tureen at the Goodwill. I always keep my eyes peeled for such pieces. Beside it is "March - A Year in Chalk" by Hands on Design.  Below it is a little sampler called  Shamrock Blessings . I stitched it last year.

Let's shimmy on down to the 2nd shelf. Ooooh more cabbage pieces including a plate, a salt shaker and a small tureen.  Can you tell I am cabbage crazy?

Gotta have a leprechaun !  Lucky Stamp   is finished in the corner and is displayed on a Dollar General frame easel.

"Shamrock Quilt Block" which I shared on Tuesday is front and center. It is finished on a Dollar Tree chalkboard.

Does that leprechaun figurine not bring a smile? He is cute as a green button!!!  And whenever you are "Puttin on the Green" you have to have a John Deere tractor.  Lucky the Leprechaun has a small one right below his feet for his riding pleasure. ☘😄

"March Squared" is a freebie by Linda Stolz of Erica Michaels ,and it is on Rainbow Gallery website in the 2003 Cross Stitcher's Surprise series. I just tucked it into a Dollar Tree bowl that is sitting on my vintage juicer.

Oh goodness! The third shelf is just as full as the 1st two.

My favorite gal is hard at work . You know her - Annie and the gang in   Shamrocks, Gold and Chickens  which was finished on a wooden box that I bought at the thrift store. Right now I have it turned on its side  and a vintage bowl is on top filled with a wool pillow with my grandson's handprint on it , a green doily and a shamrock ponytail holder which is spraying out the sides.

Two years ago Mr. Pinker bought me this little green truck wax warmer. I do not use it for that. I just hide the cord and usually display it somewhere.  In the back of the truck is "Got Luck" a 2011 freebie from Plum Street Sampler.  The little sheep on the cauliflower creamer is from the Dollar General in the Fairy Garden section . That darling was only a $1.00.

The wool shamrock mug rug is a free design from Shabby Fabrics. You can see a glimpse of it below the green truck.

Did you notice the little rooster and goose next to my stitch? Those are from my Christmas tree village. They are too cute to pack away until Christmas.

During the winter, Dollar General had their fairy garden items on clearance and I was over the moon to get the lighted fairy house for a dollar as well, but I am calling it a leprechaun's house.

On the old scale is a bowl from my sis with two freebies in it. "Kiss Me" was a freebie by Nancy Bandzuch and is available on her blog Catholic Sprouts .  "You are My Lucky Charm"  is one of my freebies that I stitched up in two shakes of a lamb's tail . Yep it was that quick.

Alrighty ya'll,  that is my country clutter of a hutch for St. Patricks' Day. I won't lie . I have been eyeing as to whether I could squeeze one more St. Patrick's Day piece on there, but I haven't found an inch of space yet. 😀, but I will. Lol. Thank you for the sweet afternoon visit , and. ...

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll
