Graphic from the Graphic Fairy It is another beautiful glorious day. The sun is shining and the birds are singing. What is not to love? Do you have anything special planned today? Later in the day, Mr. Pinker and I will go out to the most glorious , most spectacular romantic place- the place where I like to take long strolls. I bet you can't guess where. Well let me take that back- those who have been visiting me for awhile know exactly where- Eeeeh the thrift store!!!!!😀❤ Ya'll I am a junkaholic so a thrift store , a yard sale and yep even the dump where I can find rusty treasures is all good to me even on Valentine's Day. ( Yes I have found treasures at the dump. 😃😅 but I will tell you about those some other time. ) We will go out to eat later. Last year , Mr. Pinker bought me a fabulous bow tie quilt on our romantic Valentine thrift store date for just a song and a dance. 💃 Who knows maybe we will find another. Any whooo! I have been on pins and needles to drop you a Love Note- this one is in the form of a mason jar stitch . It is called DROPPING LOVE NOTES JAR. Two little birdies- one dropping love notes or hearts to the other. This little jar was inspired by my ceramic birds that you have seen time and time again; in fact they have inspired other stitches as well like Love Basket and Spring Stamp. "Dropping Love Notes Jar" is the same size as the other mason jars with a stitch size of 48 x 67. I stitched mine on 14 count tea/coffee dyed aida . 12 DMC floss colors were used in this stitch including 223, 932, 931, 930, 815, 3345, 3347, 780, 782, 783, 3371, and 413. NOTE: I did not chart this but it is written in the instructions: I used 1 strand of 783 to create long stitches for the straw in the nest and 1 strand of 931 to create long stitches in the wings. The trim is 2 strands of chenille white yarn that I bought at Walmart . One strand I tea dyed. I cut off a portion of the yarn and microwaved a Great Value Black tea bag in a coffee cup of water. I then let the yarn sit for about 30 minutes. I wish you could see the difference between the two in person- so lovely. I then simply twisted a white chenille and a tea dyed chenille strand together and whip stitched them along the seam. If you are interested in stitching Dropping Love Notes Jar ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts. NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues. Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print. I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas. I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs. Here's a quick sweet Valentine's Recipe to bring a smile to your day. 😀💗

DeleteHi, this is cindyls5462. Love the Pooh Bear quote. My favorite is "if there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever." Your sister will always be with you because you truly have her in your heart.
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Cindy. I love that quote too. It brings tears to my eyes. I do miss my sis so much. It is so strange to feel that she is still here ,but I can not see her. She is constantly on my mind that is for sure. I so appreciate the warm words, Cindy. Your kindness really means a lot to me. Hugs
DeleteSo sweet can't wait to stitch it. Moved and the birds haven't really found us yet, even though we put the feeders out. We used to live in the country, there for over 20 years and had all sorts of critters come and visit. The strangest were the two young vultures that would visit our bird bath to get a drink. Thank you so much for all your free charts so kind of you. Hope you have great luck at the thrift store.
ReplyDeleteAaah I hope you enjoy this little stitch. I do love birds as well. I hope the sweet birdies find your feeders very soon. How interesting that 2 vultures used to visit your bird bath. I bet they were a sight to see. It is always interesting to see what critters will come about the feeders isn't it? Sometimes I will have birds, squirrels and a lone chipmunk eating seeds all within inches of one another. Lol. Have a very lovely week and thank you for the sweet visit.
DeleteIt's always such a joy to visit you and your blog!!! I love, love, love the red and white bow tie quilt. And, of course the jar x-stitch designs make me smile. Happy Valentine's Day...just a quiet day in my corner of the world
ReplyDeleteAaah thank you so much, Darlene. Sometimes those nice quiet days are a blessing. It has been one here today for me as well. I was jumping with glee when we found the bow tie quilt. It is hand quilted too. Have a beautiful day, my friend.
DeleteI love your new mason jar project! So cute!
ReplyDeleteAnd a Happy Valentine's Day to you, belated. Hubby worked so he brought home dinner from our favorite Chinese restaurant and a bouquet of tulips. Looking forward to seeing what treasures you found!
Blessings
It sounds like you had a very lovely Valentine's Day, Donna. I bet the tulips are gorgeous.I do love flowers. And yum on the Chinese food. We ended up eating at a Mexican restaurant which was good as well. We did not find a lot of treasures but it was nice to get out and about. Have a very lovely week. Hugs.
DeleteSuch a sweet new mason jar stitch. Love it! Thank you, Melisa. The little recipe at the end was adorable!

ReplyDeleteI loved all the models and I loved seeing them together.
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and find treasures at the thrift store.
Hugs
Oh thank you so much, Isabel. I am dreaming of filling a large dough bowl of mason jar stitches for every season and holiday. I hope you had a very lovely Valentine's last week. It is hard to believe the month is drawing to an end. Hugs.
DeleteThat is my favorite of the mason jar xs so far. Love your little birds! I hope you had a wonderful thrifting time and dinner last night. Gotta love a man who knows what makes your heart happy, and sees that you have it, too.
ReplyDeleteAah thank makes me smile, Susan. It is hard for me to choose a favorite jar . I guess I always say the current one I am working on is my favorite . Lol. Oh yes, hubby is a keeper. I am very fortunate that he does not mind my thrity adventures as well. Lol. Hugs.
DeleteI wonder what treasures you found on Valentine's Day?!! We would go to dumps all the time as in my childhood and find treasure. That was before trash pick up, so everything went in the dump hole. Once I found a china doll head and we had it reconstructed into a doll.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful memory, Nancy. It would be so neat if you still had the doll. I bet you got many hours of enjoyment from the little doll as well. We live in the country so most of the family farms used to have old dump sites as well which were big holes. A lot of the items are recycled on the farm too. Now we take our trash to the dumpster, but the attendants place anything useful on top for people to take home. I found some milk glass tea cups at the dump one year.
