Great Grandma Annie's buffet is loaded down with Valentine stitching.
Welcome, ya'll. You guessed it - it is another Country Clutter post. 😂Most of these stitches you have seen before. I seem to decorate the buffet the same ole' way each February, but I do love these pieces.
So many of the items on the buffet reminds me of my family. Great Grandma Annie sold eggs to buy her dining room set and the buffet was part of it.
Front and center is Waxing Moon's Valentines' Trio . I stitched the houses together on 14 count aida with 3 stitch lengths separating the houses. Below the trio is a white stone platter with Dorothy Mae's Spring House. and Elizabeth Hartline's Saltbox
Dorothy Mae's Spring House was named after my great aunt who was like a 3rd grandmother to me. She adored the color pink . It was always such a treat to go to her home which was just a hop , skip and a jump from the post office which is where she worked.
I pulled out my Pioneer Woman tiered tray and loaded it with stitches as well. "Love You More" was a freebie from Cathy at Hands on Design. Last year , I stitched "Love" from Vicki at Stitchy McFloss. She posted this lovely freebie on Feb. 9, 2022. I finished mine by appliqueing it to a little heart. I left the top of the stitch open so I could tuck a little love note in it.
The small "Love " design on the bottom tier is a freebie from The Stitcherhood. Nestled next to is the teeniest little hearts that I stitched on a scrap of aida. Look at that sweet bluebird in the bowl.- one of my thrift store favorites.
It has been years since I have pulled out my glass heart bowl. I nestled Strawberry Saltbox in it.
"LOVE " is a freebie from Notforgotten Farms. Lori has the most adorable designs and she is so generous as well.
Have you figured out what I finished it on? It is a metal napkin holder that I found at the Goodwill. 😀 I just turned it on its side and added some Dollar Tree florals and picks and a big bow on top. I think it is as cute as red button if I do say so myself. ❤
On the other side of the buffet, is With Thy Needle and Threads "February Word Play" . I finished it on a metal blackboard that I found at the thrift store, but it had a Kirklands tag on it. Below the Word Play is a thrifted tea cup and saucer that I recently found at you guessed it - the thrift store. It is overflowing with my Red Heart Mini Sampler . Hmm. I am thinking I need a dough bowl of themed mini samplers? What do you think? But I digress. Beside it is Love Basket and on the opposite side is Love Grows Here Home .
One more day until Valentines' and I am still stitching for the big day. I think I can squeeze one more Love stitch on the buffet. Don't you? 😁😃 Of course, Mr. Pinker would say that is not possible, but if there is a will there is a way especially for a clutter bug like me.. 😆Any whoo, Sweetie pies. Thank you for dropping by for an afternoon visit. I hope to post my Country Clutter Hutch tour soon.
As always...
Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll
Melisa
This home is filled with dreams , love and happiness from above.
Hugs and Stitches !!!🤗❤🧵
Dedicated to my dear loving sister Amy . I love and miss you.
All your pink stitched pretties look lovely nestled among your decor. A dough bowl of themed mini samplers is an excellent thought.
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Kim. These have brought me a lot of joy and my collection is slowly growing. I wish you the most lovely and joyful Valentine's Day .
DeleteWonderful show of pink and red lovey stitches! Too many to pick a favorite! My best Valentine received was my eldest son. 48 yrs. tomorrow. How did that happen?! Happy Valentine's Day to you, Melisa.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Ginny That is the best Valentine's gift. Happy Birthday to your dear son. I hope he has a fabulous birthday. Have a beautiful day. Hugs.
DeleteWhat is the pattern name that is to the left of your Strawberry Saltbox house. The pinkeep pillow that is nestled beside the white compote bowl with the plate atop it? The one I am speaking of says, "Love" and appears to be a basket stitch with red hearts. I would like to know the pattern name if you recall. Please and Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you reminded me of that stitch Caroline. I am so sorry I failed to name it for it was a joy to stitch and I will correct that for sure. That is "Love" a 2013 freebie from Notforgotten Farms. It stitched up so quickly and I just used what floss colors that I had on hand. I will add the link to my blog. Thank you, my dear
DeleteOn a second note ...
