Friends, Flags and Stitching

πŸ˜€πŸ€— Happy Monday and Happy President's Day to all of those in the U. S.!  I am celebrating the day feeling  blessed beyond measure with love and kindness from my stitchy friends. ❤πŸ€—

And my day is beginning with  a little cross stitch finish.  Wooo Hooo!!! This is "July" from Pine Mountain  Designs. My dear friend, PJ,  sent me this darling stitch, and I am over the moon that I fully finished it way ahead of time. !!!!! . Doing the happy dance. πŸ’ƒ Thank you sweet PJ.

Patriotic Jar and "July" by Pine Mountain Designs

I am "Counting Sheep" while working on Blue Whale Designs Liberty Homestead pattern. How can one resist a patriotic sheep , I ask you.  This pattern was a gift from my  thoughtful dear friend, Patricia who just like me has an affection for prim sheep. Thank you , dear Patricia. πŸ€— These fabrics are over 20 years old so it feels good to be putting them into a quilt.

Last year I pieced "Long May She Wave" into a wee quilt. It will be going into a hoop tonight.  Do you recognize the cross stitch? I am pretty sure it was a freebie , but the name of the designer escapes my mind.

So what do you think?  I have a plethora of patriotic pieces to keep me busy. Don't you agree?

I plan to slowly take down my Valentine's decor and bring out anything green ! 25 Days until St. Patrick's Day. Oooh ! I better get on the stick.

Today begins the Sweet on You blog hop. I will be sharing on Friday. If you have a chance, hop on over and visit the ladies who are sharing today. I am sure you will  find some fabulous projects and inspiration galore.

2. Work on Heart in Hand's "Grow Whirlgig"

3. Piece Wild Wild Rose Blocks

4. Work on finishing my project for the blog hop

5. Eeeeh! Maybe go camping! Fingers crossed.

  8. Oh, sweet Melisa, your sheep are so adorable, patriotic sheep, yea!! I can't believe hat Febrary has flown by so fast. It is true, the older you get the faster time flies, LOL!! My favorite holiday is coming up in March, I think lovingly of my Irish mother, this was her day to shine, I still make Corned Beef and Cabbage with lots of carrots in honor of her. You have the best stitching fairies and they do send the best projects. Enjoy each and every one. Oh, camping, I am itching to get out into nature and just listen to the birds and babbling of a quite stream. Have the best week, you will get everything done when it needs to be done. Many warm hugs and wishes from sunny Arizona.

    1. It is sheep stitching season for me. LOL. Every year around this time I want to work on sheep projects. Oh, Mary , I agree this month has flown by. I do wish the days would slow down. How wonderful to honor you dear mom with corned beef and cabbage. I do love them both as well, but it has been ages since I have had any. Maybe I should make some this year. I hope you are enjoying some nice weather. It has been warm these last few days- a bit breezy but warm. Later in the week we are expecting the temps to be in the high 70's. Hugs and blessings.

  15. Your sheep are just adorable, Melisa! I bet they are so enjoyable to stitch on. When you finish a cross-stitch design with a fabric border, do you back the stitched section with anything in particular? Still trying to decide how to finish my Red Heart Sampler.

    1. Oh thank you so much, Diann. I am enjoying working on them. I didn't put anything on the back of my cross stitch on this one, but a lot of stitchers add interfacing to the back of the stitching. The Twisted Stitcher has a lot of great finishing tutorials on her website and on Youtube. I will leave you a link to one of her videos as well. Thank you so much for stitching my little mini sampler. I am so very touched. I hope you enjoyed it.
