Hot off the presses is an old UFO from the late 1990's- "Shine on Harvest Moon"!!! I finished the embroidery work on this wee quilt. I believe initially I was going to make it in the pillow; now however, I will quilt it for a wall hanging.

ReplyDeleteOh, I am so excited that you will be joining me, Joy! The finished embroidered block is 7 1/2 x 10 1/2" . I cut mine a little bigger and then trimmed it down. There will be 12 blocks. This is the same size blocks as the Frosty McChill blocks that I shared in 2021 just in case anyone wanted to use some of those snowmen too. I hope you like them; I am still coming up with ideas. DeleteI'm looking forward to some snow, not in the forecast here yet but hopefully we'll get a couple of good snowfalls this year. Have fun getting that binding down. That'll be another project done for you!

DeleteLove that snow family! You did an beautiful job with the embroidery and quilting. I also love the pumpkin piece from the 1900's. It reminds me of my first embroidery project that I did with my grandson - I did the embroidery and he very very carefully colored in the bird and surrounding branches, etc. with crayons. I still have it. He was 3! He's 14 now!

DeleteYour snowman quilt looks fabulous and I love that pumpkin piece you are going to turn into a wall hanging. We had a slight breeze in the holler yesterday, but thankful it wasn't more as there is a wildfire burning near the Park. They do have it contained, but wind wouldn't be good.

DeleteYour snowmen are always so cute! Who can resist? I'm going to add another little snowman to the family portrait of the Flake family and do this for my daughter and her family. They have 3 little "flakes". 😉 We had our first snow the other day. It didn't stick too much but I see this morning that there is some white looking stuff out there on the lawn! Oh, Boy! I agree, pinecones make great seasonal decorating accents. Now that we only have one big one in the back (use to have 3) the cone supply is a bit less. Now I have the ear worm Shine on Harvest Moon running through my head. Thanks, Melisa! LOL

I love seeing them personalized. Gosh, snow already! DeleteDo you ever add green horse apples (from bois d'arc tree) to your pine cones? Love it.
ReplyDeleteI have never thought about adding green horse apples to my pinecone display how clever. We call them hedge apples here. Our osage tree did not produce many this year. Usually I add them to my fall display though. I have already picked a couple . I am going to try to gather some for my winter outdoor display; thank you so much for the idea, Twlya and for the sweet visit. Hugs.
