Hello there, Pumpkin and a very Happy Sunday to you!
Last year, dear Susan saw my "Hello Pumpkin" sign on my blog and sent me the most darling chart that she designed . ❤🤗 I immediately dug through my fabrics and found the most delicious orange fabric sent to me by sweet Kate. Soon I was stitching away and finished "Hello Pumpkin" . Isn't it darling?
I knew that I wanted to finish "Hello Pumpkin " into a pumpkin , but I was as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs about cutting the fabric.
Well I finally got the nerve to cut the fabric, and it was not long before I had a finish. I used Alene's Tacky glue to adhere an old pumpkin stem to the top. Thank you so much, Susan for the most darling chart and thank you, Kate for the beautiful fabric. I feel so very blessed by your generosity and thoughtfulness.❤❤❤ 🎃 🎃 🎃
Being on a "Pumpkin High" , I tried to do the same finish for Pumpkin Crow that I shared a few weeks ago. Hmmm, a little wonky but I like it! A wonky gal needs a wonky pumpkin. Right? 😀😂LOL.

The other day I was rummaging through my UFO basket and found a piece that I probably started over 10 years ago- Harvest Home, a small quilt made from old shirts and bits of wool .
I think it will go in the hoop today and will be a project that I work on for the week. See it has a pumpkin on it. 🎃

Little Eeek and Jack- another Halloween Stamp.
Gosh, now I am not a creepy crawly spider person, but I think I wouldn't mind having Little Eeek as a pet. Hee! Hee! Well, as long as it did not bite me. 🕷🕷🕷🕷

Now onto the plans for the week.
Hmm.... What Should I do This Week?
🌞1. Applique more hexi flowers
🌞2. Work on Blackbird Designs' "Winter Wonderland" a darling gift from sweet Sonja.
🌞3. Quilt Otis Payne's Bow Tie Quilt.I am on the 2nd to the last row. Eeeeh! This was my 15 minute a day project this week. I am moving and grooving on this quilt.
🌞4.Begin a new across stitch. I would like to start a new house.
🌞5. Work on the Halloween Stamp Sampler.
🌞6. Post my Harvest Moon House.
🌞7. We may be hitting the ole' dusty trail for another camping adventure if Mr. Pinker finishes his repairs on the truck camper. So packing is on my agenda.
🌞8. Attend ball games and baby sit. Mr. R. has another doctor's appointment with his broken arm this week. He will stay with me afterwards.
🌞9. A whole lot of mischief. Hee! Hee! Now that is not too hard.
Gosh, that is a long list! I hope I can complete it all. Oh well, I will give it my best shot. Now that I have talked your ears off, let's sit back, enjoy the day and work on a little slow stitching. How does that sound?

Delete"Hello Pumpkin" is the cutest thing ever - especially done in the white on orange fabric! Finishing it into a pumpkin is a really fun idea, too. I'm stitching pumpkins right now, too - but I'm not so sure about the spiders, Melisa! 😬 Maybe I'll do one of your pumpkins and black cats. Love all your pumpkin projects!
ReplyDeleteI was thrilled to pieces to finish "Hello Pumpkin" . I made a mistake by not giving myself a lot of extra fabric, but it worked out and looks sweet and prim. LOL nothing wrong with not wanting to stitch spiders. They are creepy crawlies. Hee! Hee! Happy stitching , sweet friend. Hugs.
Delete'Hello Pumpkin' is indeed darling, Melisa and that orange is the prettiest shade. It's certainly sprouting pumpkins everywhere at your place. Everything looks fabulous!

your otis payne quilt is coming right along. excellent!!! i love it. the harvest home quilt is a little cutie. a tiny quilt with so much on it. i love that quilt, too.
you are just full of mystery. i wonder what she'll do next? keep 'em guessing Melisa that's the way it is done. i'm on the edge of my seat. what will the new house project be like? i can hardly wait. you are so creative - i know it will be another winner.
i hope you have a wonderful time travelling in the very near future. start your engines - as they would say. i wish i could travel. too many home responsibilities to tend too. i don't mind, but sometimes if i see a photo of, say, England or Ireland i want to go so badly. my dream vacation would be on an african safari. i would love that. just seeing the giraffes, zebra, lions, and, most of all, the elephants would put the icing on the cake for me. it would definitely be a dream vacation. watching the animals in their daily living, their own habitat, free to roam where they wish. aw!!!! heaven. have i got you dreaming Melisa?
i hope you are having a fantastic Sunday. i am having a wonderful day. the weather is perfect - 78. i love it. not too hot to go outside, if i must, but i have taken a stroll to visit the beauty of nature. nature calls when i start feeling a bit restless. take in a change of scenery - better mood happens every time. i hope the weather has cooled a bit for you as well.

Ooh you had some very lovely weather today, Debra. Yes, a perfect day for a stroll. It was in the mid 80's here today and the mosquitoes weren't out. LOL. I was outside most of the day with the grandsons. Oh yes , Ireland, England and Africa would be amazing vacations and I would have to add in Australia too. I am like you- I enjoy seeing the wildlife especially in their natural habitat. Did you get to work on your Christmas quilt this weekend? I hope so, but with the weather so nice, I wouldn't blame you for staying outside. Have a beautiful week, sweet friend. And Happy quilting. Warm bear hugs and love .

DeleteI almost missed this post - eek!!!! I love Hello Pumpkin - cute and adorable. The new stamp is just as cute and adorable. Sadly, I didn't accomplish much this weekend. Spent most of the time sleeping or veging on the couch as I haven't felt very well. Nothing serious just feeling a bit punky if you know what I mean. With that said I did manage to dream about future projects. LOL I do need an assistant however when she or he arrived I'm sure they'd run for the hills because the list is very long. LOL I'm hoping I'll feel better and I can accomplish a few things that I need and want to accomplish. At the beginning of the pandemic I set up my sewing spot in an area of my living room I call No Man's Land therefore my home is always very messy. I need to get organized and move things into one of the extra bedrooms. I'm tired of the mess and piles in the main part of my home. ReplyDeleteOh no, I am so sorry you have been feeling puny this weekend, dear Darlene. Rest and sleep is good for the body and soul so hopefully you will fit as a fiddle very soon. At least you could dream of quilting. Hee! Hee! Darlene , I think we are 2 peas in a pod . I moved one of my machines into the living room a few years ago too. At times, I just throw a quilt over it so I do not have to look at it when it is not in use. LOL, but for some reason I am more productive when I am sewing in the living room than in the quilt room. Go figure. LOL. It is a constant battle to keep the "mess" tackled and sometimes a pill to go back and forth between rooms. I have been trying to clean the quilt room so it will be more pleasurable sewing in there. Hmmm maybe I will get it done sometime. Hello Pumpkin is very cute. Finishing Hello Pumpkin and Pumpkin Crow as a pumpkin with the stem is such a creative idea - love it. I can hardly wait to see Harvest Home finished. ReplyDeleteThose pieces with the old pumpkin stems are great! I really like the idea of using the pumpkin stems as I always thought the twisted stems was cool looking. You are clever. The eek is adorable too. I haven't done any cross stitch in decades, I am more into appliqué, so I could see those done as appliqué too. Thanks for sharing such wonderful Autumn projects.
