A Parade of Homes 2024 - A Year End Review

Put on your work belt and grab your hammer. We are going out to the construction site! Well not really, but it has been a wonderful year for house construction- at least with needle and thread. I completed a grand total of 12 houses. Woo Hoo! I am doing the happy dance!

I began the year with a grand log cabin called   The Star Spangled Winter Home. I have always wanted a winter patriotic home, and this one  is perfect to celebrate President's Day with.

Every year I create a pink house in honor of my Great Aunt Dot. She loved the color pink so The Pink House was just perfect for her.

In April there were bunnies galore when they took over the newest house called Bunny House Saltbox. Did you notice the bunnies hopping up and over the roof?

The month of June saw 2 houses added to the neighborhood.  Strawberry Manor, included a basket of berries and a patriotic bird.

The 2nd June house was Lucinda Hawkins Liberty House which was a quaint yellow home flanked with an urn of patriotic flowers.

Harvest Home

In late August I shared a wee stitch called Summer Cabin. It was a quick stitch that I made into a quilt using 2 " strips of fabric.

I started September out with a bang with a little house called An Autumn's Day. I have to admit that I really enjoy stitching this orange brick house.

The gorgeous crocheted pillow was a gift from dear Barbara. I love it!

I greeted October with another fall stitch  called Crows in the Pumpkin Patch which had a sweet saltbox nestled in a pumpkin patch. On guard were 3 cawing crows.

November ended with  a small house overran with turkeys. It is called Pickin' in Turkey Holler.

I wrapped up December with a sweet red house  called  And Snow Fell or the Cardinal House.

Thank you for stopping by to see my year of houses in review. Hopefully 2025 will be just as productive. Do you have any suggestions for homes you would like to see?

As Always...

Oh, I Love A Parade- 2023 Saltbox Parade

I love a parade , the tramping of feet

I love every beat I hear of the drum

I love a parade, when I hear a band

I want to stand and cheer as they come ...

Good morning, sweetie pies . Are you ready for an end of the year saltbox parade? Last year, I shared a saltbox parade showing all of the saltbox houses that I shared throughout the year. Click here to visit the 2022 Saltbox Parade. Well, I thought why not do the same this year.  If there are any houses that you have missed or are interested in , just click the colored text and you will be transported back to the post where you can find the charts. I hope you enjoy.

I began the year with a sweet pink  memorial saltbox in memory of my Great Aunt Dot. It was called "A Cold Winter's Day- Dot's Saltbox"

For my 1st Farmhouse Friday stitch, I shared Farmhouse Sampler. It fits perfectly in a 5 x7 frame if stitched on 14 count aida.

Normally, I stitch a pink house in February and this year was no exception . I shared Love Grows Here.

Come springtime, I always get in the mood to stitch sheep. So in March I shared The Ewe House.

Easter was in early April this year , but it was late April when I shared The Hopper House.

One of my favorite's of the year was not a saltbox, but a little log cabin called Mollie William's Homestead. It is named after my great great grandma

Mollie William's Homestead with Sarah Jane's 1776 Saltbox  and Freedom Saltbox.

In July , I shared Aunt Betty's at Blueberry Buckle Lane. The blues in this house spoke to me.

I loved this stitch so much that I restitched the basket and included a small sampler. It was called Blueberry Basket Sampler .

In late August the bees were buzzin' all about at Beatrice's Bee Manor.

In September, I shared one of my newest favorite homes  called Pumpkin Blossom Inn.  I have to admit that I stared at it for days on end after I stitched it because I loved it so much. Lol.

Come October the ghosts and black cats crept out of the Halloween Manor.  It is not too spooky. Is it? 👻😼

One lone turkey stood guard at The Blessing House

December's saltbox was filled with sugary sweetness and gingerbread men. It was called Gingerbread Saltbox.

And just before Christmas I posted one more house stitch for the year. It was called Winter's Holly Inn which featured a well built brick house with an overgrown holly bush .

Well that wraps up the house parade of 2023.- A Baker's Dozen!  Did you  have a particular favorite?  I have to say that Pumpkin Blossom Inn was mine. I have more houses building away in my mind now just to get them on paper and then to cloth. Hopefully, many more will be shared in the coming year. In January, I hope to also share  a full House parade so stay tuned.

Thank you so much for joining me today. Next time I will remember to bring treats so we can enjoy them as we watch the parade. Gotta have treats don't we? Lol. Have a beautiful day, Sweet friends and...

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

A Year of Saltboxes- 2022 Saltbox Stitch Parade

 Good morning, ya'll.

One of my favortie motifs to stitch is houses, and I completed quite  a few this year . So today I am going to take a stroll down memory lane of saltbox houses that I have shared this year.

In January, I shared Winter Manor .  Hmmmm ! I always seem to want to stitch blue houses in the winter.

In February, I shared Elizabeth Hartline's  Saltbox. which is named after a distant grandmother. It was surrounded with lots of roses.

Elizabeth Hartline's Saltbox is nestled in a darling tobacco basket ornament gifted to me by sweet Shelly.

Tulip House was the next house . It certainly was bright and cheerful.

To celebrate strawberry season, I shared the Strawberry Saltbox in April.

One of the most enjoyable houses that I stitched this year was Freedom House. It stitched up quickly.

The Ole' Crow Saltbox

Aunt Mariah's Autumn Saltbox  was filled with kitty cats and pumpkins.

For all of those candy corn lovers out there, I stitched Candy Corn House in September. It was such a fun stitch and worked up quickly.

In November, I went turkey crazy , when I stitched Turkey Holler Saltbox.

I began December with a tranquil house called Christmas at Underwood Lane .

Well that is 2022's saltboxes and houses in a nutshell. I am over the moon with how they turned out. I am already brewing up ideas for 2023. If you have any suggestions , let me know . You just might see them in a future home.  Have a very lovely day and as always .

Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll
