Stitchy Wednesday- Trick or Treats Halloween Stamp Freebie

Boo and Jack are all stitched up! 👻🎃

Boo and Jack Stamp

Happy Wednesday, sweet friends. I am moving right along on my Halloween Stamp Sampler.

Last week I finished the borders and added  the Boo and Jack Stamp.

The Halloween Stamp Sampler is being stitched on 14 count Aida which has been Rit dyed with Charcoal gray. It was heavily rinsed for a lighter look.

Today I will be stitching little Clementine  into the sampler. Have I told you that I have a soft spot for black cats?  I sure do! Well, actually a soft spot for any cat.

Last year I stitched Clementine into a pin pillow which I trimmed with chenille yarn.

Here is the preliminary layout that I will be using for the stamps that I have already stitched. Of course, this is subject to change as I stitch more stamps.

This year I will be adding a few more stamps to the collection- just because I enjoy stitching them.

If you missed any of the stamps that I have shared over the years, I invite you to click on the links below and you will be magically transported back to the post with the charts.

My newest stamp is super simple but oh so cute.
It is called Trick or Treats Stamp.
In hindsight, I should have stitched this as Trick or Treat. 😏 But who doesn't want more than one treat. Right? 😁👻

Did you have a favorite Halloween candy as a kid?
Smarties or Double Bubble gum was mine! Eeeh!

My girls  wanted to go to the neighborhood where Coca Colas and large Hershey candy bars were being handed out! Wowzers!

What was your least favorite  Halloween candy?
Me? Hmmm . Laffy Taffy ( It was good, but it would get stuck in my teeth.)

Well, I am off to work on my Halloween stitching. I wish you the most magical day filled with sweet treats.

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Friday Musings

This time of the year gets me in the mood for Spring cleaning.

Welcome, y'all and Happy Friday!

The other day I put on my apron, gathered up my duster and broom  and went straight to work. The task at hand- was to clean one of my daughter's closets. She is grown and gone, but she still has her own room for when she comes for a visit. Thankfully, it was not too daunting of a job because she is pretty organized. But I spent the morning folding and refolding sports uniforms and stacks of tablecloths that I pushed into the back corner for safe keeping. In a couple of hours, one closet was spic and span with room for more  items to be stored away.  Shhhh! Don't tell her though?  Hee ! Hee! Where I am a maximalist ; she is a minimalist.  Oh, well 🤷. The collecting bug did not rub off on her. LOL.

I may work on her 2nd closet today.

Has the warmer weather got you in the mood for cleaning?

Later in the evening,  I went outside and sat on the porch and worked on With Thy Needle and Thread's "Boo To You".  In the evenings around 6:30 , I have been hearing wild turkeys yelp, cluck and purr before they head up into the trees to roost. Earlier during the day I spotted a rafter of them near the river, but have  yet to   spot their roosting trees.

Yesterday, I spotted the first snake of the season. YIKESTERS!. It was warming itself in the middle of the road just off from the driveway. It had slithered its way down our hill.

Hmmm . What else? Well...I changed out my quilt on the "shelf quilt  rack" above my Great Grandma Annie's buffet. I bought this quilt in Alabama 2 years ago. It is hand quilted. The Spring colors brighten up the living room.

Bunnies , milk glass , and stitched pieces were sprinkled on the buffet for a Spring vignette.  To be honest, I did not put much effort into decorating this Easter. Oh well, it will get me through the next few weeks unless I get a wild hair and decide to change it.

Did I show you Halloween Potion Jar , a sweet freebie from my friend , Dianet at  Parchesdeamor blogspot?

Well I finished the stitching awhile back and finally  was able to sit down and FFO this precious jar.

I made it into the most darling Halloween pin pillow and added some wool yarn trim which I twisted and tacked along the seams. What do you think? I say this little jar is one cutie patootie if I do say so myself. Thank you, Dianet for sharing this darling little jar.  The sweet little face makes me smile.

I guess I best get off here.  I have a grocery pickup here soon. Then perhaps, I can sit back , put up my feet and enjoy some slow stitching time.  Here , Here for the weekend!   Enjoy your day, Sweetness!

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,

Time to Work on my Quilt Blocks

Is it December already? By golly it is! How did that happen?

December Word Play - a design by With Thy Needle & Thread finished on a Kirkland's chalkboard bought at the Goodwill.

Good evening, y'all and Happy December. It seems like yesterday that we were celebrating Halloween and here we are in the month of  December already. My how time flies.

Today has been quite chilly . It has been overcast for most of the day, but the rain moved in this afternoon . I expect the pitter patter of rain will continue throughout the night.  Mom said she saw a snowplow head up the valley earlier today.  Hmmm might we have snow in the forecast- I don't know.

I finished this old Prairie Schooler piece into a pouch which I stuffed with winter greens.

Yesterday , I pulled out my secondary blocks for my Pretty in Peach Butterfly quilt. Do you know the name of this block? I think it is so lovely.

Anywhooo.... I need 9 more blocks.

With a swish and swoosh , I had the 3 1/2" squares and strips cut for all of the blocks. I was ready to get down to the nitty gritty and do some serious sewing. But alas, I ran out of thread. Oh bother!

So Mr. Pinker and I went to Wally World today, where we picked up a few groceries and of course some thread so I could get back to the task at hand.

At the thrift store, I found this gorgeous snowball quilted table runner for only a $1.98!😲🤗 I could not snatch it up quick enough.

Each end has the most darling wool appliqued snowman scene.

The 16 snowball blocks measure at 3" finished.

The Snowball blocks measure 3" finished.

I think it was a great thrifty  find. What do you think?

Well Sweeties, that's what is going on in the holler.

How was your first day of December?

My view from the side of the house at the blueberry bushes and well house.

As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting,
