She's My Cherry Pie- Hutch Tour

And a very cheery day to you, sweet Friends. Please, please  do come in and join me in the kitchen.  May I offer you something sweet ? Perhaps  a slice of cherry pie?   Aaah come on. I won't tell?  😉😁😋

This is a new recipe to me recipe called Cherry Cream Cheese Pie which  uses Cherry Pie Filling. I bought the Walmart Great Value brand of Cherry Pie Filling - Oh , bother not many cherries in it, but a whole lot of gelatin . I still have some tweaking to do on this recipe before I share it, plus I need to find another pie filling , but it is still yummy!

Speaking of cherry pie... my hutch is filled to the brim with  cherry pie goodness.

Yep! You guessed it ! It is another Country Clutter episode. It has been a blue moon since I have showed "the clutter". 😀 I would be quite honored if you joined me in taking a "gander" .

I went to town pulling all things "red and cherry" related for this month's hutch display . I  sprinkled in a little bit of vintage and a smidgen of  "Love"as well.  Do you think I could squeeze one more thing on the hutch? 😂ðŸĪŠ

The top of the hutch always stays the same with the Campbell's soup tin and Coca Cola crates.I did add my Mrs. Buttersworth syrup container that mom painted in 1979. She is so cute in her red dress and apron.  Do you remember these?

The other day  at the thrift shop I saw several Mrs. Buttersworth syrup containers sporting  fabric aprons . I almost bought one, but I refrained.

A few cherry plates serve as a backdrop on the top shelf. In fact, I found the white plates while on vacation this winter in Oracle,  Arizona at the Dollar General for a dollar a piece.  They were the inspiration for the hutch.

On the compote is a red Pyrex bowl with And Love Grows tucked inside along with a string of beads.

I shared  And Love Grows  a couple of years ago.

The vintage spatula holds a couple of salt and pepper shakers.  The Little Heart quilt was a freebie from Temecula Quilt Company. Isn't is as sweet as cherry pie? I do need to make another one of these.❤❤❤

If you go cherry picking you have to have a colander to wash the cherries in. ðŸ’ This wee little colander was just what I needed. In it is a darling white dish cloth knitted by my sweet friend, Patricia.  I also included a "Love " pin pillow that I stitched years ago.

Do you like Cherry Cola? I used to love it as a kiddo!   I did not have a vintage Cherry Coca Cola bottle so I just added an old commemorative bottle to the mix.

In the corner is the old canister  that I bought at the thrift store a few months ago; I will use it any chance I get.

Not satisfied with just decorating the shelves, I added a few tacks to the sides of the hutch and added more clutter.

A clutterbug has got to do what a clutterbug has to do! Hee! Hee! 😂

😀 A small basket of eggs and a sifter hangs from one side of the hutch.

On the other side of the hutch is the sweet little chicken stitch that I found on Pinterest . Do you know who the designer is?  I have it pinned on my Pinterest page. "Do Everything with Love " is a freebie from Silver Creek Samplers that they shared last year.

Shall we hop on down to the 2nd shelf?

I left my vintage red, green and white doilies out from Christmas. It is nice to be able to use them again. The cherry pot holder is a treasure that I have had for years.  I would love to be able to create pieces like these, but alas I never acquired that skill.

A small quilt is rolled and tucked into Granny's old red enamelware coffee pitchers . There is no telling how old these are. Below them is a little creamer gifted to me by my sis.

A little ceramic pie sits on my wee wire pie stand.  "Love" from Vicki at Stitchy McFloss is gingerly placed in an old cherry drinking glass. Vicki posted this lovely freebie on Feb. 9, 2022.  It was such a joy to stitch.

While vacationing in AZ , I purchased one of the vintage muffin tins, so they had to be on display to enjoy along with an old rolling pin and wire whisk.   Is this little chef salt shaker not the cutest?

Shimmying on down to the bottom shelf.

Ewe Have My Heart- 1869 Crock is perched high on a vintage Fire King mug . It is just one of my stitches in the "crock series" There are more "crock stitches " brewing in my mind.

Years ago I created this little cherry pie pin cushion using wool, felt and an old sweater.  It fits perfectly with all of the cherry items, Don't you think?

Lots of little rolling pins in the 2nd Fire King mug.

Beneath all of this clutter is  a simple quilt made of red and pink strips.

Did you notice the cherry border?   I just adore food fabric.

Many of y'all know I have a "thing" for chickens. One of my favorite "Valentine chicken stitches " is a freebie from Stitching with the Housewives called "A Little Chicken Love" which Priscilla  shared on March 20, 2020 on her blog. Aren't those yardbirds the cutest?

Finally, the vintage scale was loaded down with knitted and crocheted pot holders, bowls, a sifter of cherries and lots of down home stitchy goodness.

"Love is Kind " is a freebie from Cathy at Hands on Design.  Every year Cathy shares a "love token".   "Love" is a freebie from The Stitcherhood.  " I Heart U " is a freebie from iStitch Designs and finally the fourth little stitch is just a  simple pin pillow with wee  hearts.

Wheew!  Are your eyes crossed? ðŸĨīThat was a lot of stuff to see wasn't it?  I know it is not for everyone, but  the country clutter makes my heart go thumpity thump!  So tell me do you think I pulled off the Cherry Pie theme.

Soon all of this will be put away and another display will replace it. Usually I decorate for St. Patrick's Day, but I may just go straight to Easter. What do you think I should do?

Y'all have a "cherry on top kind of  day" and thank you for the super sweet visit!

RANDOM QUESTION: Do you have any suggestion for other crock designs?

I want to thank you all for all of the Mini Sampler ideas . You certainly helped spark my imagination. ðŸĪ—

As always...

Happy quilting and stitching, y'all

Country Clutter Episode- Valentine Hutch Tour

It is another episode of Pinker n' Punkin's Country Clutter. 😀

Good morning , sweet friends. Come on in, grab a glass of tea and let's take a look at my country clutter . This time on the hutch! Last month, I was dreaming of a new theme for my hutch for February. Last year my hutch looked like this.  A farm theme but with reds and Jadeite.

You can visit that post by clicking here.

This year, I wanted a Valentine's Farm Hutch but without the Jadeite. So I began pulling out stitching and anything red and farm related. Boy ,how I wish this hutch was a lot bigger. You know where I am going with that don't you? Lol. .

I left the vintage lace valences that I repurposed as shelf runners and added in my Dollar Tree red plates and strawberry plates.

The beautiful prim homespun hearts hanging on my hutch was a gift from a dear friend, Patricia. It will stay out year round. I already envision it on my hoosier.

Now to the top shelf which is crammed full.

I pulled out one of my big ceramic chicks and placed it on top of a vintage Fire king mug. In the white cream pitcher is a Walmart bottle brush tree.  The red pitcher is from the Goodwill.

On top of the ceramic candle holder was my Ewe Have My Heart- 1869 Crock  that I shared last year.

It is finished on a Dollar Tree round paper mache box.

"The Greatest Give is Love" is from Lizzie Kate and was in the Just Cross Stitch 2001 Christmas edition. I finished mine into a pin pillow and tucked it into the creamer. Next to it is Hands on Design Year in Chalk- February which is finished on a thrift store plaque.

Hopping down to the 2nd shelf.  Oh , glorious reds!!!!

On top of my thrifted plates is Nanny's old coffee canister . It is missing the "C" .ðŸ˜ē 😏 On top of it is a vintage strawberry man. The Valentine cross stitch is a freebie from the Primitive Hare and is available on her blog in the February 2, 2012 post.

Sweet Patricia made this gorgeous dish cloth. The photo does not do it justice. There are hearts knitted in it. So stinking cute!!!  I love it!!!

Ya'll know I have an obsession with lots and lots of things. But nesting chicken candy dishes is one of them. I purchased this one years ago at the Cracker Barrel.  I have a string of Christmas lights behind it which really makes the glass glow . It is so pretty in person.

Pulled out my Pioneer Woman salt and pepper shakers.

With thy Needle and Thread's Holiday Hoopla Valentines' Day is finished on a rough piece of wood.

Hopping down to the bottom shelf.

The vintage juicer has a yellow doily, in a Dollar Tree red bowl. Inside the bowl is some Pioneer Woman measuring spoons from the Goodwill and a small stitch where I used a scrap of aida and stitched 3 hearts into a teeny pin pillow. You know I can not stand to get rid of those teeny pieces of cloth. Lol.

Roses, Hearts and Chickens  is next to the juicer . I turned the box on the side and Annie and the gang fell off so it is just propped by the box right now. On top of the box is more salt and pepper shakers.  Dear Kate gifted me the rooster tea bag holder and the gorgeous vintage embroidered rooster napkin under my scale which is in a previous photo.

My sister gifted me the salt and pepper shakers ( another obsession of mine)

A milk glass nesting candy dish is nestled in Granny's enamelware pan. The pan is sitting in a berry wreath which is in a Dollar General ceramic pie plate.

On my vintage scale is the same small bowls gifted to me by my sister.

In the bowl is a 2020 Heart in Hand freebie called "Always" . It may have been in one of her newsletters. I am not sure if it is still available or not. I have not found it.

I finished "Always in a metal butter dish that I painted white.

That's all folks!!!😀❤😀
I meant to share my Valentine's hutch earlier ,but  better late than never. Lol. I will be keeping it up for at least another week and then the St. Patty's Day decor will come out. It is going to be hard to say good bye to the reds, but oh well, they can come back in April  or May for strawberry season.

Thank you for the sweet Tuesday visit, my friends. I hope you have a very lovely day and as always...
Happy stitching and decorating, ya'll.

Valentine Decorating and Stitching

Happy happy Friday. Are you ready for a fantastic weekend? I always am though I do not have anything planned other than visiting my parents and seeing the grandkids and nephews. Of course, I am going to squeeze in a little quilting and stitching.

My hutch is all decorated for the month in red,  jadeite green, and chickens with a bit of cross stitch.  I thought I would share that and my tiered tray with you, but be forewarned there is lots of country clutter.

I ended up keeping the lace valances that I used for my winter hutch table runners. I added Dollar Tree red plates in the background as well as Goodwill plates and little green jadeite saucers.

This little stitch is called " Love you More" from Heart in Hand. I stitched this in 2020 because it reminded me of my oldest grandson. I finished it on a little tin pocket .Since I used a magnet on the back of the stitching, I can change it out.

On the top shelf is my big jadeite bowl. On top of it is a truck taken from a larger design from Hands on Design in collaboration with Priscilla Blain.
I finished this on a piece of barnwood from my grandparents' barn and added a little homespun. Next to it is my Cupid Stamp that I finished on my Dollar General stand that I got last year. I finished it on fabric from my daughter's dress and added a little Dollar Tree country ribbon.

The second shelf holds some chickens in red and one jadeite hen candy dish. It is my newest addition. The little red salt and pepper shakers were Dollar Tree finds. "Love Makes a House a Home" is by Country Cottage Needleworks and is finished on a piece of foam board with red gingham as a finishing fabric. I used my own floss colors in this piece.
"Always" was a 2020 Heart in Hand Needleart freebie.  I do not know if it is still available or not. I finished mine on a metal butter dish that I painted white. The finishing fabric was from a pair of black and white gingham pants and the ruffle was from a pair of pjs. Love being thrifty in my finishing. Lol. The ribbon was from the Dollar Tree.

My sister found the little glass basket and salt and pepper shakers while thrifting.
The little white drawer was from Dollar General.

A little Fresh Eggs sign from the Dollar Tree sits on a little thrifted dish on top of the scales.
My vintage juicer stays out year round. I just change out the bowl in it. It always sits on the corner of the hutch. I put a little milk glass nesting hen candy dish in an enamel pot. Behind it is " Farm Sweet Farm " one of my freebies which is mounted on a Dollar Tree chalkboard. I will change out the greenery once that winter time is over with .
" Be My Valentine " was a freebie from Lizzie Kate that I completed last year. Finished into a little pillow it looks perfect in the little jadeite bowl.

Lots of country clutter but it makes me so happy.
A look at my whole hutch. Some Christmas dishes are stored in the bottom and the top shelves hold Coca Cola crates and tins that always are displayed there.

Now on to one of my tiered trays. I love to decorate a galvanized tray that is located by my corner kitchen sink.
My tray is pretty simple for me. Mostly filled with thrifted chickens, Dollar Tree picks, some wooden hearts and salt and pepper shakers.
The little barn salt and pepper shaker is a Pioneer Woman piece.

A tiny chalkboard from the Dollar Tree sits in the top tier . I folded up bits of wired ribbon and tucked in here and there in the tray.

The gorgeous pink knitted dish cloth was a Christmas gift from my friend Patience. It stays by my sink ( not to use yet , it is too cute. Lol) . I wrapped some black and white ribbon around a Christmas wax warmer to cover the graphics.  A big ole' rooster rests on top of the warmer.

Farm stitches are starting to make their way into my little country dough bowl.  Bent Creek's "Chicken Zippies" , a thrifted "God Bless this Home" stitch and  "Everything will Be Fine" freebie from The Primitive Hare  fill the basket along with a gifted old rooster.  I changed the floss colors in Everything will Be Fine and added the hen to the design. It is a favorite.

That is a little bit of my Valentine's decor and country clutter for now. I may post more later. I always enjoy seeing all of the lovely posts on Instagram and on different blogs; they provide me so much inspiration in decorating with my pieces.

Have a lovely weekend and thank you so much for visiting. And as always...

Happy stitching, ya'll
