Figgy Four Patch Friday and a Fall Freebie.

Happy happy Friday! Good morning , dears. You wanta sew, but you just do not know what.
Grab some scraps and make some four patches. Make it a Four Patch Friday.!!!πŸ˜€ You can figure out what to do with them later. That's what I am going to do.  I have pulled out some greens to play with.

Speaking of four patches, I just finished a wee fall four patch for my sweet Annie.

She has been wanting a quilt to sit on as she rides the red rocking horse.

I think she is happy .

These four patches were made with 1 1/2" squares.

A few weeks ago my uncle brought two bags of dehydrated figs to mom's. This was the first time that I had tried them, and let me tell you they were DELICIOUS! So for the last couple of weeks I have been raiding the fig bushes at mom's and at my sister's.

I can eat them fresh right off the bush or dehydrated. They are like eating candy to me.

Earlier this summer, Mr. Pinker and I went to Lowes and found a Brown Turkey fig for $3.00 . We quickly snapped it up and brought it to the house . Well the other day I went outside and saw that it was looking a bit puny . For a moment, I thought it might be the heat and then it hit me.- Mr. Pinker must have been a bit slap happy with the weed killer .  "Yoo hoo, hon!" ,I said. "I see that you went crazy with  the Round up. My brown fig looks sorta sad". Mr. Pinker admitted  to the deed. We are hoping it will perk up as time goes on. Of course the plants that I want gone, are as happy as a pig in slop and growing quite well despite us trying to eradicate them. Lol. Oh well. We can get another next year.

Look at mom's fig bush . Oh so tall.

The chicken weather vane on the old tall  mulberry stump  was made by my uncle. It used to be on my Nanny's barn. Dad has a matching one on his barn.

Now this brings me to the sweet stitch that I finished this week- "Oh Bring Us a Figgy Pudding" which is a primitive freebie from Heidi @ Heidi_ Studio on Instagram and from her blog called All My Scattering Moments. Heidi posted this freebie on her blog in the October 15, 2009 post and on her Instagram as well earlier this year.

I have several of her freebies completed and a few more to go. Heidi fully finished hers into  cute prim pillows with jute twine hangers. I hope you will hop over and visit her; she has the cutest blogs and a wonderful IG page.

TECH WOES UPDATE -

Many of ya'll know that I have been facing TECH WOES and have had trouble sharing my latest charts.

Well let me give you an update. I finally figured out how to share a jpg with a link , BUT πŸ™„the jpg would take up storage on my computer where as before the charts were being created and uploaded by my camera and were not taking up any storage. So I am still in the same pickle.πŸ’»πŸ₯’ But I am going to look at the bright side, and that is many  dear stitchers have told me that they are able to print my charts from the images.  Here are some tips that I have been given.

HOW TO GET MY CHARTS.

πŸ’» 1. Right click. Copy and then paste to a document and then print.

or

πŸ’» 2.Some stitchers have been able to email the image to themselves and then print it.

or

πŸ’» 3. I have clicked on the image and then dragged it to Google Docs and then printed.

If things improve, I will certainly let you know, but for right now this is how I am going to have to share.  Again , I apologize. πŸ€—

So with that being said, I wanted to share  Pumpkin Basket with you.

Just a wee basket filled with 2 gourds and a little crow. Great for a bowl filler or  an ornament. Wouldn't it be cute as a tag hanging from a basket?

It would be a great companion piece to Pumpkin Picker which I shared last year.

If you are interested in stitching, Pumpkin Picker try one of the methods above to obtain the chart, or you may know of another way ( Please let me know if you do. ) Thank you so much for understanding.

Well I have been long winded again.🌬😁 Thank you so much for taking time to drop by for a visit. All of those affected by the storms are in my prayers. Stay safe and as always...

Hopping About the Holidays

Well a very good morning to you and welcome, my friends. Hmm! I wonder how many holidays can I squeeze in one post? lol We will see.

"Autumn at Sunflower Ridge" by Woolly Ewe Designs.

This week has been a slow one- just relaxing and enjoying the  lazy first days of fall.

Monday Mr. Pinker and I went to the grandbaby's ballgame ; it was a double header. They won one and lost one.

Afterwards we went to the Dollar General to pick up some milk, and look! EEEH ! SANTA MUG ALERT !!!πŸŽ… This little guy was $3.00 and holds 17 ounces.

I also purchased these 2 ornaments.  Our Dollar General is just starting to put out a bit of Christmas.

Tuesday was another slow day of quilting . I am determined to make headway on my Easter Quilt .

Later in the evening , I went  to more  Dollar Generals- no Christmas at those at the other end of the county.

On Wednesday , I went pear picking.  I have the dehydrator working now on pear slices.  They will make great snacks especially come winter time.

So today is Embroidery Thursday. I will be working on a little Gingerbread piece. I color tinted it , but am still on the fence about it. So I will finish it and then decide if I want to make another.

I am a little late on sharing my To Do List, but I am going to share just the same. πŸ˜€

Did I Get er' Done?   Well.... Last week's goals were:

🧡Finish Applique on Cheri Payne's Santa blocks.
🧡 Work on Bee Skep Quilt.

πŸ‡½πŸ§΅ Create one more camping block.
🧡Embroider details on Oak Leaf block.

🧡Finish a couple of cross stitch pieces into pin pillows.

I guess I would make an 80 on last weeks progress report , but 4 out of 5 was completed. So Woo Hoo!!!

What's the Plans for the Week?  Well....

🧡 Work on the embroidery work on the Cheri Payne Santa blocks. I am quite smitten with these Santas.  Thank you so much, Joan for this pattern.

🧡 Create Camping Block

🧡Work on Witchy Woman cross stitch. I have been working on this one for 2 years now. I do need to complete it.

🧡Begin a new Mason Jar Cross stitch.

🧡FFO 2 more cross stitches

🧡Spend at least 15 minutes a day quilting on the Easter Quilt.

STAY TUNED ON WHETHER OR NOT I WILL BE SUCCESSFUL ON COMPLETING THIS LIST. Finger crossed. 🀞

Autumn Blues Hutch Tour

Good morning, punkins.  Oh boy, here we go again! It's that time -time for another episode of  Pinker n' Punkin's Country Clutter.

Grab you a cup of tea and don't be shy! A slice of pineapple banana nut bread. It is yummy for your tummy!

Today I am sharing my hutch. Now I have told you this before, but don't worry . Under no circumstances were Dust Bunnies disturbed in the taking of these photos;  though I do believe they need to scoot!

This year I decided to go with a different theme for my Autumn Hutch - blues, oranges and a bit of farm decor.

I  left the black and white buffalo print shelf runners on the shelves. I layered blue enamelware plates, white thrifted plates, and some blue / white transferware plates for a backdrop. And then I began to pile in the country clutter.

In the very corner hanging from a tack is a small chicken stitch that hangs year round on my hutch . I often am asked about who is the designer which I had forgotten.  Well I found it a few weeks ago. It was  freebie that I found on Pinterest. I  think  I  now have it pinned  on my Pinterest page under Chicken Cross stitch if you are interested.  If you know who the designer is , please leave me a message. I would love to know.

If you have visited before , you may notice that I use a lot of the same old things, but change them around. And you know I like it full, busy and cluuuuutered.

So lets start at the top shelf. In one corner I placed a blue spongeware bowl on top of some plates and filled it with old  pumpkins. Next to it is Rosie's Pumpkins a freebie that I shared last year.  Click any of the colored print and you will be taken to the post and freebie.

In the center is a pumpkin pitcher that I have had for about 20years.  "Fall" is a freebie from  Carrie  Powell of Crafting Paws. It can be found on her blog in the October 21,2019 post .I finished it on a candle holder and turned it on its side.

I pulled out an old tureen to put in the other corner.

I bought the big pumpkin chalkboard at Dollar General this year for $5. I didn't have anywhere else to hang it so on the hutch it went.

Hoping on down to the 2nd shelf. Lots more clutter to see.

I have 2 new additions to my fall decor. The Farm Fresh Pumpkin easel sign is  a new addition from the Dollar General  and the Blessed barn is from the Family Dollar.

On the easel frame is my Autumn Stamp freebie . I change out the stitches on the easel each season. The easel is from the Dollar General.

In the enamelware bowl is a Dollar Tree pumpkin and "Just a Little Autumn is a San Man Originals  freebie.

In the opposite corner  is my old juicer. I change out the bowls each season.

This time I am using a blue enamelware bowl filled with pumpkins and a rooster.

Next to it is Little Bits Pumpkin Haul which a shared last year.

Down to the 3rd shelf.

Every year I put my pie dish that mom gifted me on the bottom shelf. It is an old Better Homes and Garden piece from Walmart.

Next to it is a thrifted rooster pitcher, some Dollar Tree pics and a pumpkin / truck light.

This little Holstein is my newest addition to the hutch . I bought her the other day for only a dime. She  makes me smile.

In my baking apple dishes is a vintage salt shaker.

My little blue truck punch needle piece called "Punkin Farm"  was a piece that I created and finished in 2020.

On top of the old scale is a   Little Quaker Pumpkin which is a freebie on the Stitchy Fish Designs blog in the September 12, 2016 post. Do you know who is the designer of the little pumpkins and gourds? This sweet designs name and designer eludes me.

On the other wall beside my hutch is some of my tin collection. Would you be interested in seeing some more of my tin collection  sometime?

Do you see the Pumpkins sign in the window?

I painted it years ago on a scrap piece of wood. One side says pumpkins.

The other side says Homespuns so I can have it sitting out year round. It was a no cost craft.

Well that is my 2022 Autumn Hutch in a nutshell pumpkin shell.

I thought it would be fun to look at previous years' hutches as well. If you would like to see them closer, just click on the links, and you will be taken back to the post which has  information on any of the stitches.

Fall Hutch 2021

Fall 2020 Hutch  Tour - I decorated the hutch twice in 2020. Lol

Goodness, that was a lot to take in wasn't it? Can you believe that I have squeezed one more thing on the hutch since these photos were taken?  Lol Well when there is a will , there is a way. I will be clearing off the hutch and putting up Halloween this week. I am looking forward to that. Thank you so much for dropping by today and ...

 As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll
