Edna Has a Bad Day

A very merry Monday to you, Sweet Peas. The other day I went out to the farm to take photos of my latest finish. The cows were in the lower field so we could leave the gate open as we headed up to the pig barn.

Well guess who greeted us!  Edna! She was not too happy either. She started pacing back and forth acting very agitated.

She then  rared back her ears and gave me the look!!! You know the look - "The You  are Annoying Me Look"

Usually when she sees the camera, she frolics in glee to greet me, but not today.

So I focused on the task at hand which was taking photos of my quilt all the while ignoring Edna.

I moved around the fenced in lot scouting  places to take photos of my quilt . First was the old well house.

This design is called "Antique Churn Dash " and is from  the Little Quilts Patriotic book .

Soon I moved over to the fence row.  From the corner of my eye, I could see ole' Edna glaring at me. "What's wrong gal? "She gave a quick snort and began pacing again.

This Churn Dash was a quick quilt to piece, but I drug my heels on finishing it.

The blue rectangular fabrics are from my daughter's pants from  when she was a child,  and some of the reds are from her shirts. Such warm memories in this wee quilt.

Soon the photo shoot was completed. " Goodbye, Edna" I said as I headed for the truck. Edna then scooted right past me and headed toward the gate. "Oh no!" I said to Mr. Pinker and off we went trailing behind her. Luckily , when she saw us on her heels she cut to the left and went into the lower field to be with her besties- the cows.

I have noticed that Edna and the  cows have  been out of sorts since Bev the red cow has been moved out to the other farm.

I do believe Bev needs to come back to this  section of the farm; maybe when she does she will have a little bun in the oven.🐄🐮

Anywhoo, the 2nd quilt I completed was Pam Buda's of Heartspun Quilts Summer Days Quilt. Pam offered it as a freebie earlier this Summer. It is no longer a freebie but can be found on her website for a nominal fee.

Susie at Knitty Quilter created Summer Blues in red. It is gorgeous. If you have a chance, hop over to her blog and see hers.

I have the beginnings of a fall basket in the works. Now I need to fill it with Autumn cuteness. I will be working on this project today.

Well I have chatted your ears off.  Haven't I ? I better let you go;  I know you have places go and things to do.  Hopefully the next time I go out to the farm for a photo shoot, Edna will be more congenial.  I will remind her of what a beauty she is.  So in closing I will leave a darling photo of Edna and her great big smile . Do you remember this photo? I have posted it before. Lol.

What a darling smile!

Have a fabulous day, Sweeties!

As Always...

Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll

A Peaceful Sunday and a Christmas Freebie

And a very good morning to you! 🤗 Happy Sunday, my friends.

Yesterday was such a lovely day. Not only was it nice and warm outdoors, but  I spent most of the day working on Christmas ornaments as I listened to Bing Crosby singing the Christmas classics. My daughter said "Mom , Halloween is not  even here yet" . But Christmas  will be no here in no time.

I have pulled out a couple of projects to work on for this Slow Stitching Sunday ; one of which is my small Halloween churn Dash.  I pieced this one last year. I hope to finish it by the end of the week.

Later I will finish the Christmas pinkeep  called "Dreaming of Snow" that I started yesterday. It will be a future freebie.  Are you dreaming of snow yet?

Speaking of Christmas and freebies. I wanted to share with you my newest ornament that I finished called "Peace on Earth" . I should have just named it "Peace" though.

I stitched this one the other night in a few short hours .  I used 7 floss colors including DMC 815, white, black, 781, 895, 647,and  898  .

I finished it using what I had in my stash. I may change out the bow later , but for now this will do.

If you would like to stitch, Peace on Earth ,  please check out the images below, but first read my little note about my charts . This explains about getting the charts.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues.  Until I can figure out how to upload with the links , I am only able to put the images on the blog . Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save .  I am doing my best to get back to my normal method of sharing . Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

Many of you know , but I always like to leave this little disclaimer.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

I am going to keep my ramblings short today.

Have a very lovely day, and I hope that you are able to take some time for yourself and enjoy something that you love.

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Churn Butter Churn

Another beautiful Friday has rolled around. Welcome, sweet friends.

"Churn butter churn! Come butter come!
Peter stands at the gait
Waiting for a butter cake. Come butter come. "

I guess I am on a Churn Dash kick right now. Well, I will admit it is one of my favorite blocks along with the simple nine patch and four patch.

I have been churning out little large Churn Dashes with my Summer Days Quilt and small churn dash blocks for a doll quilt.

I love Little Quilts , and I became quite smitten with the the Antique Churn Dash quilt in the Patriotic Little Quilts book.

Used up loads of little patrioitic scraps. Sew much sweetness and sew much fun. Now it time to quilt this little baby and have it ready for the patriotic season.

I am off to find some backing material. Thank you for the sweet visit , my friends. Have a beautiful weekend and as alway...

                                           Happy quilting, ya'll
