Wild ,Wild Roses Quilt

Rise and Shine, Sunshine! It is a beautiful day!

The grandsons are out of school today. Snow is expected- a dusting up to an inch ; we shall see how much we get. The boys are happy little campers no matter how much snow we get.

In the foyer, I keep a wee "year round tree "out to decorate for the seasons. It is tucked into an old enamelware pot. For January, I decorated it in small mittens. Upon return from my camping trip, it was time to take down the mitten tree decor. Thankfully , this was a quick task to complete.  Hmmm, maybe I should have waited since it is  still winter time.
Time to take down the Winter Tree decor.

It did not take long for me to redecorate it with little floral picks and wee baskets.

I am adding baskets to the tree

Can you tell that I am dreaming of Spring?  Below the tree is old crocks , pottery and baskets.

The tree decorated with baskets and surrounded by vintage goodies.

I am dreaming of birds chirping, bees buzzing and flowers blooming. Are you having the same dreams? I sure am ready for Spring.

My plants in the greenhouse made it through the first month of winter . I was a bit worried since I was gone and not tending to the plants, but my daughter peeked in on them a couple of times.

A marigold blooming in the greenhouse . What a treat to have a bloom in February.

Last night I pulled out my Wild ,Wild Roses quilt blocks that I worked on in January of 2023. Click here to see that post.

Laying out the scrappy rose blocks.

I was inspired by Beth Shibley of My Sewing Room. She posted a  video  2 years ago called Roses in Bloom Quilt Block.  Beth posts the most delightful  videos .

My blocks are 10 1/2" unfinished  ( 10" finished) .

Lots of scraps and "ugly" fabrics in this one, but I do like how it turned out.

I will now lay this quilt top aside and ponder on the border for a spell.

Wild , Wild Roses pieced and awaiting a border.

I am still learning my new computer. Wheew! I just do not pick technology up as quick as the kiddos. My 8 year old grandson helped me the other night. I still have more "questions" though.  I guess I will have to wait till the boys  come over to get more "tech " help.
Please forgive me on still being behind.

Well, Sweeties. I better get off here. I have a quilt to work on. Enjoy your day! Stay warm and cozy!

 As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Winter Blues Hutch Tour

Good morning , Snowbunnies! And welcome!

The hutch has been cleared of all its Christmas goodies, and now it is time for the snowmen to roll their way onto the hutch shelves.  Yep, you guessed  it.

It is time for a "Country Clutter " post - the 1st one of the year! Eeeeh!

Please join me as I show you what I have been up to in the kitchen.

First,I changed out the shelf scarves from red buffalo checked to soft white lace runners that are actually window valances. I also kept the white Christmas lights for a warm glow.

Next up was the blue and white transferware plates that were all thrifted.

One of my favorites cost only a quarter .

It is the Currier & Ives "The Old Grist Mill" plate which is perfect for winter time.

Soon my hutch was filled to the brim with all kinds of winter goodness. Let's take a closer look.

The top shelf has loads of cross stitched pieces and bottle brush trees.

"It's Winter Time " was a freebie but for the life of me I can not remember who the designer is. Do you know?  In the transferware sleigh is WINTER , a simple snowman stitch.

In the corner is Winter Blues; it was a freebie in the early 2000's from Stitchy Kitty. I do not think it is still available.  I always get a lot of compliments on it. It was indeed a joy to stitch.

The small pin pillow below Winter Blues is one of the Lizzie Kate "Winter Smalls" stitches.

The 2nd shelf has a flurry of stitches as well.

Front and center is Snow Basket  , Prim Winter Blessings and Bucket of Winter which I will share later this year.

Winter Haul  and Let It Snow Sampler   are tucked in the corner .

Now let's see if there are more snowmen on the bottom shelf. I bet there is!

I left the Johanna Parker salt and pepper shaker out which was on the hutch during Christmas . I filled the vintage juicer with a snowman embroidered pillow and rag snowballs.

Prim Winter Tag  sits below Winter 1869 Crock which is nestled in a Fiestaware gravy boat.

The gravy boat is on a stack of white plates with Winter Tree Sampler below it.

Lots of little embroidered pillows are as snug as a bug in a rug in the bowls on the vintage scale.

I left the enamelware pan hanging on the side of the hutch and just added a bottle brush tree and...

With Thy Needle and Threads' " Candy Cane Wishes".

Well what do you think? Do you think I was able to fill every nook and cranny ? I sure did try. 😀😁😁

Have an awesome day and thank you for the sweet visit.

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Winter on the Farm- Snowman Hutch Tour

Good afternoon, ya'll.  Put on your toboggan and grab you a cup of hot  cocoa for today is another episode of Pinker n' Punkins Country Clutter  a - Winter  episode. 😀

My hutch is overflowing with snowmen and stitching and the theme is "Winter on the Farm."   Every nook and cranny is filled to the brim  with stitchy goodness and  farm yard pickins' .

 You wanta take a peek.

The top of  my hutch never changes. I have 2 Coca Cola wooden crates and a Campbells Soup tin where I store seasonal plates.  The bottom of my hutch is where I store my Christmas plates.

The The top shelf is filled with stitching and embroidery.

I embroidered the little "Winter's Clothing" years ago and mounted it on foam board. The backing fabric is an old sweater as is the bow. I then mounted it on a Dollar Tree tin tray.

The 123 Snow embroidery was an attempt to use up scraps of fabric. It is even stuffed with wee bits of fabric that was too small to include in a quilt.  I just placed it into an old jello mold.

Beside it is A Christmas Flock- Barnyard Christmas  which did not look too Christmassy so it stayed out .

I pulled out an old wooden sled that I had bought unpainted from Walmart over 20 years ago and painted it yellow and black. On top of it  is a free stitch called "Winter "by  Balades et broderies par Camela . It is  available on her blog in the Jan. 20, 2013 post. I finished it on a Dollar Tree large wooden unfinished tag that I painted with chalkboard paint.

I was able to squeeze in a chicken salt shaker and a wooden barn onto that little sled.

In the corner is Hands on Designs "Year in Chalk- January" .

A blizzard of snowmen had arrived on the 2nd shelf as well.  Whooa! That's a lot of stuff - isn't it? And I know it is not for everyone, but oh, how it makes my heart sing.

Do you remember the large popcorn bowl that I bought on a recent thrift haul. Well. I turned it backwards and added a crocheted dish cloth gifted to me from dear Patricia. I then stuffed  in my large ceramic chicken that I bought on the World's Longest Yard Sale last August.  The bowl has a Pioneer Woman creamer in it , a Dollar General sign and the cutest corn cob snowman. I do need to make some more of them come summer time when I can easily get a lot of corn cobs.

The corn cob snowman has cloves for eyes and mouth.

Country Cottage Needleworks' "Snowmen Trio.  "is next to the soft stuffed snowman on a sled. Behind ole Snowman Softie is Frosty Stamp which I finished on a Dollar General easel frame a couple of years ago.

The "Got Snow" embroidery pin pillow is stuffed in an old mason jar lid and next to it is my vintage juicer. I did not add a bowl to it this year, I just placed WINTER HAUL  on the juicer  along with a bottle brush tree. The little salt and pepper shakers scattered throughout stay on my hutch year round for they were gifts from my dear sis.

Now here we go slip sliding down to the bottom shelf.

Snowflake Sledding and Chickens  which was finished on thrifted wooden box sits in the corner along with a family of prom snowmen.  On top is a creamer with a chicken and a darling snowflake snowman gifted to me from dear Robin.

Prim Winter which I finished on a Dollar General wooden tag is hanging from the old enamelware tea kettle that I bought on the thrifting trip that I shared with you last month.  I added a little doiley and plopped a snowman inside the kettle with the promise to him that I would not bring him to a boil ⛄🤣.   I think he looks quite content. Don't you?

I am in love with Notforgotten Farms' Snow Pants. This design was gifted to me last year from dear Patrica. He certainly makes me smile.

My vintage scale is topped with bowls overflowing with  eggs , rag snowballs  made from a shirt and bits of greenery.  In the cow creamer is a wee quilt made from a recent quick stitch called LET IT SNOW

Finally,  a small quilt is draped off the edge of the hutch.

Are your eyes crossed? 😁😜🤪 Lol That was a whole lot to take in in a small space wasn't it? But I do have to say that I have enjoyed my winter hutch theme this year.
Soon all of this will be coming down and Valentines will be going up.

I appreciate ya'll taking the time to stop by for a visit .   The weatherman says there is a slight chance of snow on Thursday. Fingers crossed that we might see a flake or two. Have a wonderful evening, yall and...

As always...

Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll
