Sunflowers in Tiered Tray

Hey, ya'll. Come on in and join me in the kitchen to see my summer tiered galvanized tray.

The tray is located by my corner kitchen sink right under the window and is filled to the brink.  I have it filled with Pioneer Woman bowls, salt and pepper shakers , chickens, pottery and eggs- little country treasures found at the Goodwill. As I said,  I like my tray to be crammed full.  To fill in the spaces, I tucked in not only the sunflowers but torn gingham fabric tied into little  bows and bits of red berries.

The top tray has an apple pottery baking dish turned on its side with a chicken ornament tucked in it.  A little chalkboard with the word " Summer is in the back  as well as a big old rooster who  standing in a coffee cup.
The bottom tray has this little yellow chicken creamer with a milk glass egg holder and egg in it. The bottom of the tray sports boxwood greenery.
I placed a little sunflower cloth napkin under the tray to add a little brightness to the counter.

Barely visible and sitting near the tray is a Pioneer Woman utensil crock that holds old wooden and metal utensils long retired from use in the kitchen but lovingly display. Well since this tray is complete I am off to decorate a new tiered tray that my daughter gifted me.

Have a great day,
Melisa

Summer Sunflower Hutch

Hey, ya'll. Come on in and see my country clutter  which brightens my day. The hutch is all a bloom with sunflowers which are tucked among  the farm decor. On top of the hutch is a collection of Coca Cola boxes and bottles,  vintage Cambell's soup tin and other vintage thrifted items;   this area rarely changes.  On the shelves of the hutch is a lot of Dollar Tree and thrift store items as well as a little stitching.

Each shelf has a little  black and white buffalo check runner.  I pulled out as much yellow as I could find to put on my shelves.

The top shelf has sunflower plates purchased at the Dollar Tree and a large thrift store rooster . Hanging with the old painted metal spoon is a Heart in Hand Designs piece called "Summer Whirligig" which was finished in 2019. On the top shelf is Country Cottage Needleworks' "Farm Fresh" completed in 2019 and finished on a green frame which is embellished with torn fabric and sunflowers.

Tucked in a bowl of eggs is one of my little designs called "Summer Chicks" . It is finished in a small frame and embellished with pom pom trim.  These little chicks are sporting little quilts as the walk among the sunflowers.

Above the 2nd shelf hangs a small sign that I painted from a board that my 6 year old grandson brought me. He thought I could do something with this scrap piece of wood. He is so thoughtful, and I was just tickled that he knew I could do some crafting with it. On the 2nd shelf is a yellow tobacco basket , white boxes from the Dollar General and chickens.

Also on the 2nd shelf is  a freebie from Notforgotten Farms  called "June". This was one of my 2019 Stitch Maynia pieces.
On the 3rd shelf is Dollar Tree plates, thrift store chickens, pottery and  a vintage scale.
I stitched  a small section of Hands on Designs & Priscilla Blain's design called "Fresh Eggs Farm" and finished it onto a little piece of wood from my grandparents' barn. A torn homespun bow embellishes the little piece- a thrifty finish.
Thank you so much for visiting me and checking out my bright sunflower hutch which is filled to the brim.
Have a bright, sun shiny day,
Melisa

A Berry Sweet Tiered Tray

Hello there friends! Join me in the kitchen to see  my  galvanized  two tiered tray all decorated.

Now normally,  this tiered tray  would be decorated for the patriotic season but this year I kept my strawberry decor in the tray. This tiered tray is located near my corner upstairs kitchen sink.  I filled it with thrifted items such  chickens, vintage Fire King cups, a crotcheted doily , strawberry cups and a chocolate covered strawberry dish- all purchased at the Goodwill. I also included my red mason jar chicken salt and pepper shakers, sprigs of floral picks,  and Pioneer Woman salt and pepper shakers and bowls.

Near my tiered tray is a Pioneer Woman utensil crock - purchased at the Goodwill. It is filled with vintage and antique kitchen utensils. It is a fun little display . Now to think of a new  vignette for this tiered tray. Have a lovely day.

My Country Patriotic Thrifty Hutch

My kitchen hutch is sporting its red , white and blue!

Until about two years ago, my hutch was always decorated the same way- with my blue willow plates, but now I am enjoying changing it up for the season.

This year I decorated it with a plethora of thrifted items and cross stitch. The newest addition to this collection is the patriotic chicken plates that I got at the Goodwill and the truck and camper salt and pepper shaker that my daughter gifted me.

On the top shelf  is a  Pioneer Woman cow cream pitcher and some vintage salt and pepper shakers, blue willow plates , A Birds of a Feather "Americana Honesty" Cross Stitch and Little House Needleworks " Rooster and Hens"
On the 2nd shelf there is some cheese crocks which I collect and a little Heart in Hand Merry Making Mini "Free" cross stitch which I made into a little pillow.

The 2nd shelf also sports old tins, blue and white splatter pottery apple baking dishes, old lids, chickens and a free chicken cross stitch made into a pillow.
I was thrilled to to purchase this vintage scale at the  Goodwill and below it is a Scissor and Tails Design "Rise and Shine"  cross stitch finished into a thrifted mini loaf pan.

Vintage crewel work, enamelware, apple ornaments,  chickens and blue transferware complete the bottoms shelf.

More thrifted items are on the top of the shelf including Coca Cola boxes and vintage tins which I collect.

So this is my patriotic hutch tour, I hope you have a fabulous Independence Day!

Rise And Shine, ya'll!

Happy Wednesday, ya'll!  So yesterday I got in the mood to do a little finishing on a cross stitch project.  Lingering in my "need to be FFOd" pile was this sweet design by Scissor Tail Designs called "Rise and Shine". I had stitched this last year during Stitch Maynia 2019 and though I loved it, I had not gotten around to fully finishing it.
As I made my way to my craft room , I pondered as to how to finish this piece. Initially, I  thought that I might finish it on a galvanized bucket, but  soon I  changed my mind when I spied  this little loaf pan which I had acquired at the Goodwill for $.49 a few months ago. It was the perfect size .

Settling on how to finish  the stitch, I went to town gathering all of the supplies that I needed to complete the task at hand. I began my covering foam board with 3 layers of batting and then attached my stitching. I still was not satisfied with how it looked on the loaf pan so  I took a pair of old gingham pants that I never wore  and ripped little strips . Next, I  created a tiny ruffle to embellish the stitching and simply glued it in place. Placing the stitching on top of the loaf pan, completed my finish. Now I have a little place to store little bits and bobs and plus, it is a cute addition to my patriotic and chicken decor.
The perfect spot for this little stitched piece was on  the hutch in the kitchen among some of my old transferware and chicken decor all little goodies that I have found at the Goodwill. This happy little finish has found its Summer home.
 Happy stitching, ya'll,
Melisa
