Sundried and Sunbaked!
Good morning and a lovely day to you!
Yep, this little box is sundried and sunbaked. It just looked so lost and forlorn sitting on a vendor's dusty table underneath the warm sun in the desert. I could just not leave it behind for just $1.00.😂😀
I know! I know! It has seen better days. But wait till you see what is inside. Eeeeh!😍❤
Thumpity! Thump!💗💗💗 Be still my beating heart! A vintage red Electic Kraemer Little Modiste toy sewing machine which was made in Japan.
And the best of all ! It works! 😀 So who cares if the box is a little beaten. Hee! Hee!
It came with the instruction manual , a piece of vintage pink gingham fabric and the sewing needles.
Now tell me. Could I leave that little jewel behind? Hee! Hee! No not this gal! I will clean it up once I return home. But I tell you - I was doing the happy dance all the way back to the camper! Hee! Hee!
As many of y'all know I love to look for "hearts " in nature- whether they be heart shaped leaves or rocks. This trip has been no exception on finding sweet heart shaped signs.
As I explore my surroundings , every now and then I will find a wee heart rock. The small ones I pick up to put in a jar. I always look for signs from my sweet sis.
Another heart rock. Oooh and it is white!!! This is a favorite!

Four more pink hearts appliqued for the RSC heart quilt. |
Speaking of hearts, I cut out a couple of heart shaped templates to use on my 4 patch quilt that I will be working on today.
|
The vintage sewing needle book is a thrifty find I purchased recently . |
I will either quilt a heart in the white 4 " squares or I may applique a heart. This is an after thought after starting the quilting. LOL.

YeeHaw that's a delightful and lovely "find". I bet you haven't stopped smiling. I'd be ecstatic and make sure it's where I could see it and that it wasn't a mirage. LOL Have a productive and fun day. Big Hugs! Darlene J

ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little sewing machine you picked up, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteThat little sewing machine is adorable, Melisa! And it even works - that's so fun. I think some quilted hearts on your four patch quilt sound perfect! Enjoy your stitching and rock hunting today!
ReplyDeleteOh, how sweet! You always find the best things--amazing that it was only $1. I bet you were jumping up and down with joy at that find, Melisa! Love the hearts both stitched and found ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable little sewing machine, Melisa! You find the best things! I'm glad you are enjoying your camping trip and thrifting. Love the pink RSC hearts. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!
ReplyDeleteI hurt my back so I've been out of commission but so glad to visit with you again. Happy Vacationing! How exciting and in a camper so you can take your "stuff" with you. I don't have a camper but in my mind that is the way to travel! So happy for you and so kind of you to share your vacation with us.
ReplyDeleteThat sewing box and machine is "the bees knees"! I bet a little English Scratch polish will brighten up that box in a Jiffy.
Okay, this is too funny....I have collected heart rocks for years and I always think they are from heaven when I find one! I also have found "angel wings" usually wooden....I have no idea how they get that way but it is no mistake that they look like a wing.
Your heart applique is so pretty. I hope to get back to sewing soon. Unfortunately, I can no longer load pictures to my pc so my blogs are pretty boring. I may have to try Instagram.
I'll be thinking of you having "fun in the sun"!
You had me with that cute vintage mini sewing machine, Melisa!!! What a great find!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, what a score! It is so bright and shiny. How fun it must have been to discover it!
ReplyDeleteWow! That little jewel of a machine was a steal at $1. Amazing! Some beautiful scenic shots. The picture of the saguaro and other wispy tree/shrub - do you know if that is a mesquite? The effect was really pretty, whatever it is. Two more hearts to add to your collection. The white one looks to be very out of place, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteOnly $1.00, what an amazing find.
ReplyDeleteWhat a find!!! The price was unbelievable!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
