Good afternoon, Sweet friends! It is a beautiful glorious day!
A perfect day for a patriotic start!
I have my fabric coffee/ tea dyed and a fabulous chart called "America Sampler " from The Calico Confectionery. This was a darling gift from my sweet friend, PJ. Thank you so much, PJ.🤗 You know I love anything patriotic. 😘
We recently saw these Air Force planes on display in a park. I had to take a photo of them for my daughter. May I tell you that I am so proud of her service?
Have I told you that I have a plate addiction? ! Sssh! Don't tell anyone? Hee! Hee! 😄 I found 3 new patriotic plates on my recent thrifting venture.
The first is a vintage Capitol plate .
I paid up for this little decorative plate. A whole dollar. LOL. But it has good memories already attached to it which I may tell some other time.
For 50 cents a piece, I could not leave behind 2 vintage blue patriotic transferware saucers.
The first blue plate is Liberty Bell.
It is a Bicentennial plate from Avon.
The 2nd was Independence Hall.
Another Avon plate. Hmmm , I wonder how many bicentennial plates were made? I will have to research that.
But I do believe all of these plates will make lovely additions to my patriotic decor this summer. Now don't you tell Mr. Pinker that I slipped in a few more plates that I will show later. Hee! Hee!
Well that's it for me, Sweeties. Have a great afternoon.
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

What great finds! Looks like the Avon plates were part of the bicentennial celebration. Great keepsakes as well as Summertime decoration! I've been working on a Christmas cross-stitch project lately too. Hope we finish our projects by December! Hahaha!

ReplyDeleteI'm sitting around doing absolutely nothing and now your needle is on turbo speed. I can hear the afterburners and know that Melisa is stitching. stitching, stitching. Whew!!!
ReplyDeleteThe plates are all lovely but my heart beats for the blue ones.
I know you're going to enjoy stitching the sampler. You keep stitching on turbo speed and I'll live vicariously through you. LOL Have a wonderful evening and Tuesday. Hugs, DarleneJ
Forgot something!!! I understand how proud you are of your daughter. I am, too - way to go Melisa's daughter. My husband served 25 years in the Air Force and we were proud of him. Darlene J

ReplyDeleteAwesome finds! I love to look for vintage items at every thrift shop I wander into....I immediately flip glassware over to see if it has a marking, especially if it has "Occupied Japan" on it, it most often comes home with me! Now I will be on the lookout for patriotic items like yours! I'm a mom of a (ret.) USMC Devil Dawg (Infantry 0311) so I know how proud you are of your daughter! And YES YES YES....January 20, 2025 will definitely go down in history! Thank you LORD!
