Wordless Wednesday Camping in the Woods

Happy Happy Hump Day! It has been a blue moon since I have shared a Not So Wordless Wednesday post. This time I thought I would share a few photos from one of our favorite campsites in East Texas . It was at a very peaceful place called Neches Bluff Overlook near Weches , Texas.  It is part of the Davy Crockett National Forest.  I hope you enjoy!

Our camp way back in the woods. We spent Easter here.

Mayapples were in bloom.

Brilliant Blue Sky and tall trees.
This darling bird was near our entrance.

Thank you for the sweet Wednesday visit. I hope you enjoy a day of peace and relaxation.

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Thank you for the sweet visit.

  4. Awesome perspective photo looking up into that tall, tall tree! I think that darling bird is a female cardinal. I can't imagine how you got that close to get such a nice clear photo. Thanks for the show!

    1. I wondered if that was a female cardinal. She had her nest right at the entrance in a low bush . On our daily walks ,we would walk by her and she would just sit there. She did not mind us at all. I was fortunate to get a photo of her eggs as well. She was a beauty. Thank you for the sweet visit and I hope you have a beautiful day. Hugs.

    1. It was a great camping spot, Barbara. I was so surprised that the Mama cardinal did not mind us at all when we walked by her each day on our evening walks. We walked quietly and I tried not to bother her as I snapped a photo. She was a beauty. Thank you for the sweet visit. Hope you have had a lovely day. Hugs.

  11. Off the beaten path sounds pretty good to me, too! I hope there was water nearby for Mr. and his fishing. That is amazing that the little mama had her nest where you could actually see into it. I did a little searching and that was a female cardinal and her eggs. Not having them in our area, I would have been thrilled to see such a thing!

    1. It was a fabulous spot but alas no water for Mr. Pinker. LOL. But he loved this spot too. The cardinal was a good mama sitting on her nest because she did not mind us walking by her each day for our evening walks. She sat their quietly. I had wondered if she was a cardinal because she looked a tad different than our mama cardinals, but I figured that she was one. It was a treat to get to see her and to see her eggs. Thank you for the sweet visit, Ginny. Hope you have had an awesome day. Hugs.

  13. What a lovely place to be! Texas has really pretty national forests - we used to live in the Sam Houston National Forest, and my husband really misses the trees. Although he used to complain about all the pine needles - lol! That is a beautiful bird.
