Wordless Wednesday Winter on the Farm

Edna says, "Howdy"!

Isn't she  adorable?

Welcome and a very Happy Wednesday to you. It has been awhile since we have been out to the farm so I thought I would share some winter photos in this Not So Wordless Wednesday post.  I hope you enjoy.

It is a beautiful day! Look at that bright blue sky!

All the gals are in a good mood!

Bev has not returned to this section of the farm , but her daughter Ginger has. She does not look happy does she?

Edna gets a treat!
The bees are doing great.

A raindrop in a puddle of  water and hay.

During the winter storm, the white door blew off the building. Dad has built a new door.

The gals say have a beautiful day and ...

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

Everyday is a good day to be on the farm.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!🤗🧵❤

Dedicated to my baby sister, Amy.  The farm is not the same without you. Love and miss you, Amo

Y'all come back now , ya' hear!

  1. Hello from across the pond! I have "found" your blog not so long ago, and am really enjoying reading about your adventures and looking at your lovely pictures of the decoratrions in your home! It has also re-started my old love of cross stitch embroidery which I loved when I was much younger but sort of forgot about. I have made a few little things for Valentines day and have just finished my first of your cute Salt box houses! ( why are they called salt box houses?)
I was wondering, could you tell me where the cute SPRING embriodery pattern is from? It's the one at the top of this blog, with the word SPRING, and the rabbit is the I....It's so cute, and I'd love to stitch it...Anyway, best wishes from Holland, happy Wednesday from Nicoline

    1. Aaah welcome, Nicoline. I am so honored and grateful that you have been visiting me . I am so happy that you left me a sweet message as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It is exciting to hear that you have gotten back into cross stitch. The salt boxes and other homes are my favorite to stitch. The salt box homes is a type of old New England home that resemble a box that stored salt in the olden days. They usually have been enlarged by adding a shed or addition to the back or end of the home. They are very interesting to look at and a delight to create using needle and thread. "Spring" is a freebie that I posted on March 20, 2023 here on the blog. I will leave a link in tomorrow's post with another picture of it. It was a quick stitch to work on. I hope you have a great day, Nicoline and thank you again. Hugs.

    2. Hello again,
Oh wow, that is so nice of you to post the SPRING freebie again! Thank you for telling me/us about the saltbox houses, that is so interesting!
And now you are busy working on Bunnies, wow, do you have enough hours in the day, guess not....
I am going to make a mug of tea, both to drink as well as to dye my stiching cloth a bit darker so the white bits/bunny tail show up nicely! thanks again, and happy stitching! Nicoline

  2. Hi there Melisa! Hello too to Edna and Ginger and Bev and the rest of the gals! Look at that beautiful blue sky …. all it seems to do here is rain so the garden is totally neglected as it’s so muddy.
Like Nicoline in Holland, I too would like to know why the little houses are called Salt box houses.
I had so much ‘me’ time relaxing whilst stitching all your Santa’s patterns. I still have to make them up into ornaments but that’s the part I don’t enjoy so much.
Have a great day Melisa and Pop!

    1. Happy Wednesday, Cassie. I hope you have had a wonderful day. All the ladies on the farm had a great day Weren't they a hoot? Lol. I hope that you are able to enjoy some sunshine and warm weather soon. I am ready for Spring ; how about you? I am fascinated by the salt box houses. From my understanding, the were named salt boxes because they resembled a box that is used to store salt. I always enjoy seeing how these old New England homes were added on to. I am so honored that you stitched the Santa's. That just warms my heart. Thank you so much, Cassie. You made my day! Happy stitching, dear. Hugs.

  5. Thanks for sharing your walk around the farm. How is Bev doing? Ginger is such a pretty color, but she doesn't look thrilled in her snapshot. Is Edna still missing Bev?

    1. Happy Wednesday, Robin. I was surprised the gals came up to see us when we went to the barns. They were quite social. Bev is doing great. She is enjoying the "bottoms" which is the lower section of the farm where most of the cows are. Edna seems to be doing fine - well at least she was on this day. The black cow wasn't too happy to see Ginger when she came, but she has adjusted. Lol. Have a good evening stitching. Hugs.

    1. LOL. Edna is very photogenic. She likes to get her photo made more than Elmer- the other donkey does. Edna and the gals are divas! Hee! Hee! I am in love with salt boxes. From my understanding they resemble boxes that were used to store salt long ago. I love the long slopping roofs. Hope you had an awesome day, Brenda. I am so sorry you have been have web issues. Hugs.

  13. I agree, Edna is a keeper! Question: on the top shelf of your new cover is a Spring pillow with a bunny in the center, is it one of yours and can you post a link to the pattern? So adorable! I do enjoy your postings and patterns.

    1. Don't tell the other gals, Terry, but I think Edna is one of my favorite critters on the farm too. And I think she knows it. Hee! Hee! I was surprised the door was torn off the building. It has to be close to 80 years old. Thankfully we were able to save it. Have a blessed evening and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.

  16. Well, Hello, Edna! I think she thinks you have something for her. Your gals look "fat & sassy" as my dad used to say. Ginger is so like her mom. That name is perfect for her. Have the bees been out and about? Is the door going to get a fancy paint job? We're having some big time wind and rain and were without power when I got up. No coffee! Eek! Power came on a bit ago so all is well. We are so dependent on power, aren't we? Thank you for sharing some of your world with us, Melisa.

    1. LOL we ended up giving Edna a sweet treat. It was a so good to see her having a good day. The gals are certainly well fed. Hee ! hee! I saw a couple of bees out , but most were staying in their cozy hive. Oh don't you just hate it when the power goes out. I am hope it did not stay out long. We have a well so when our power goes out there goes the water too. Have a fabulous day, dear Ginny.
