  13. I have a question. I haven't cross stitched in years. (been busy making quilts). On these smaller pieces how much do you generally add to the design to cut your fabric. You can tell I've been piecing quilts because I hate adding too much. Thanks. I have spent a week or so going thru and collecting a lot of little designs. I love to decorate for the holidays and you have beautiful designs of what I call littles because they fit on other things. Love your style.

    1. That is a great question. A lot of stitchers say 2 to 3 inches on each side if you are going to frame it especially if you are having someone else do it. However if you are finishing it yourself you can certainly do not have to use that much. On pillow finishes I usually leave about an inch on each side and then trim it. I have been known to leave less than that. Being a quilter, I am sure you are like me and hate to waste fabric so that is why I work with so little at the edges. I usually start my cross stitch in the left corner ; sometimes at the top ; sometimes at the bottom. I work on a large piece of fabric and then cut my pieces down. Thank you again ,dear for the sweet visit, kind words and great question. Hugs.

    2. Thanks so much for the response. I have stitched one and printed enough to run out of ink. LOL Do you have a pattern of the mason jars you appliqued? I love those jars, And how many have you finished? I saw 4 so for but no pattern. Thanks again. My name is Rebecca Ann but for some reason it will only let me reply as anonymous

  14. Dear Melisa, I don't think I have ever taken the time to compliment you on your blog itself.Your creativity and generosity yes but not your lovely blog. First of all, for me it's like a visit at the kitchen table with a dear friend over a cup of tea and a treat. Next, it's always easy to go back and find one of your charming charts. I've mentioned that I don't get to cross stitch much any more but your little stamps frequently inspire me and are just the right size for me to manage. I did your bunny and tulip trifle last weekend. Finished him into a little spring/Easter ornie and he is hanging off a prim rake I have propped in my family room. Love him! I just printed off Spring Stamp and will get that one going this week. Thank you doesn't seem like enough to say to you but I do thank you so much!!
