"I want to spend the whole day sewing," I said with a sigh as I slumped on the couch.
"Well get up and get going," said Mr. Pinker with a grin. "What's stopping you? "
"Aaaah, I sure do wish my sewing room was cleaned up. I am a Messy Missy in my quilt room."
"I know, I know, " said Mr. Pinker as he shook his head.
"I sure could us a big strong man to help me clean it. "I said with a sly grin. Hee ! Hee!
Mr. Pinker stared intently at the TV. I could clearly see he was pretending he did not hear that statement. 😳😀📺
"Alrighty," I said as I jumped from the couch. "Off I go." And with that I hip hopped to the quilt room in search for fabrics for a little quilt.
"Hmmm what color fabrics should I use ?" I said, as I rummaged through piles upon piles of fabric and scraps. "Eureka I found it ! "I shouted as I spotted a stack of country fabrics.
Fabrics waiting to be cut. |
"What dear ?" asked Mr. Pinker as he sat in the living room.
More country fabrics. |
Hmmm he heard me.
" Aaww , I found a broom, dear. Do you want to come help me clean? "I asked jokingly. Hee! Hee ( Can you see the devil in me?😀😜😂)
All I heard was crickets in response.
Oh well, who wants to clean when I can play with fabric. The cleaning detail will have to wait until I get a better plan on how to lure him into the quilt room. Hee! Hee!

LOL! LOL! What a nice post on that grey Monday. The quilt looks super. Tiding up your room? Hey come over to me to clean up my little stitching corner. to sway the broom? NO, I ride it!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Gabi
Your little quilt is going to be so cute. I like how you changed it to winter. I worked on cleaning my sewing room and put up decorations outside yesterday. The temperature got up in the 60's so it was the time to do it. Now that my sewing room looks better maybe I can get in there this week and sew something. Have a blessed week and I pray you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteMy sewing room needs a major cleaning and tidy up. I cleaned one shelf yesterday after noticing the dust bunnies and cobwebs were taking over…. Christmas sewing takes precedence over cleaning at the moment!
ReplyDeleteCute little project underway in your sewing room!
Cleaning can wait.

(Little Penpen) sewing lasts; cleaning doesn’t! Lol I had to give up my sewing room and I have a big ole mess in the living room right now. I made 4 cute ornaments using one of your patterns. Cute cute quilt you are making!
ReplyDeleteAaaand she's at it again! Thank you for sharing everything you're doing with us! It sure is hard to keep up with you! The Merry Little Christmas is going to be darling - and I love the stories surrounding your projects. Mr Pinker is sure a helpful hubby! ;-) Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI would volunteer to man (woman?) the iron while you sewed - I love pressing! You and Mr Pinker are hilarious. That little block is so cute, I might have to download the pattern.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice mini quilt to tempt us with =}
ReplyDeleteNow, what do you mean by help you tidy.... never heard of it :/
Just so you know i will not be lead astray from the straight path easily...
I stick to my stitchy values. - and tolerate enabling only in that direction. :p
ok ok... Thanks for the post! Have a lovely week, dear friend. Lil
Your mini quilt is looking good, Melisa. You might have to check my pockets if I come do some sweeping for you. Where did you and Mr. Pinker go out to eat? Have a good Monday!
ReplyDeletei would love to come and help you clean your sewing room. then you can come and help me clean mine. sound like a deal? coming to your home would be such a delight. i would just admire all the Christmas trees, hutches all decorated, your farm fields, everything would bring me so much excitement. just being with you and Mr. Pinker would be an adventure. thanks for being you Melisa. you add so much joy to my day with your blog posts. have a wonderful day. blessings and love are on the way to you.

Your conversations between you two make me giggle. Your new little quilt is looking pretty spiffy.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had an awesome day, Melisa! That's such a cute little mini! I hope you enjoyed your meal. Have a great day! Hugs! B
ReplyDeleteFinally, I did a sewing room clean and tidy at my house!!! Of course, I had to because I had the security tech coming to check all the window sensors. Too embarrassed to let a stranger see my sewing mess and couldn't get to the 2 windows without a thorough cleaning, LOL. (This job really only happens about 4 times a year in my sewing room!) I have enjoyed your last 4 blogs, and I am happily stitching away at Cardinal House!! Thank you so much, it is a beauty. I will be over as soon as I finish this little house to help you! Sending warm hugs from sunny Arizona.
ReplyDeleteLOL at your post today. . .I'm glad you left tidying for another day! Anyone who can operate farm machinery can handle a sewing machine. Perhaps, Mr. Pinker shouldn't give that machine a try because he might find it more enjoyable than gasp, fishing! He might move you our of your space! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeletesewing is a valid reason for letting all that will still be there when you are done sewing, to wait!
ReplyDelete...and bless mr pinker for supporting you with dinner!!
Chirrup! Chirrup! More crickets in answer to your request for volunteers again! Lol! Your little quilt is coming together nicely. Don't you love an afternoon in peace & quiet & in your quilt room! Score!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day you had sewing this beautiful design!!!!
ReplyDeleteA big hug
Isn't that adorable! It looks like you had a lot of fun making that little quilt, and Mr. Pinker missed out. Can't wait to see how you finish this one up!
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling little Christmas quilt. Would make either a cute mini quilt, wallhanging, or pillow front. Thank you for sharing! I would love to come and help tidy up in your sewing room with the understanding that we come and repeat the process in mine! LOL Mine looks like a bomb went off in it right now. It's nuts!
ReplyDeleteThat little quilt by Bunny Hill Designs is adorable. I downloaded it and hope to do it someday soon. You and Mr Pinker reminded me of my husband, Ron and I. He'd walk into my sewing room and just stand there. So, I'd stop sewing and say, "May I help you" he'd look at me and say I just popped in to say Hi." I'd look at him and say, "keep loitering and I'll set up another machine so you can sew, too". Final words as he ran out of my sewing room "gotta go". LOL Gosh I miss that man!!! Can't wait to see what you have in mind for tomorrow. Yes, still at my daughter's. I left my bag of hand projects at home - picked up the wrong bag. Ugh!!! I'm not very happy with myself. Insert sad face!!! Darlene J
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute Bunny Hill design, Melisa. Sounds like you have a great plan for the week.
ReplyDeleteOh poor Darlene, forgetting her bag of projects! I know how she must have felt!
ReplyDeleteAnother, inspiring post Melisa! I’ve downloaded the quilt pattern. It was good to see your fabric choices, I just might make one of these myself! It’s just the size I could cope with! Love your banter with Mr Pinker. He’s definitely a keeper! Hugs and kisses, hope the stitching is going well, Barbara @flashinscissors ☺️🙋♀️💜xxx
Barbara - thank you for feeling my pain. I wanted to cry when I realized I'd left the bag at home. I appreciate your support!!! Hugs!
DeleteTrès jolie cette nouvelle courtepointe ,bravo !
ReplyDeleteBonne soirée
Bisous
What a cute project to play with during your day of stitching only. I wouldn't want My Guy to help clean up my sewing room, he might find too many secrets!
ReplyDeleteHee heee! Love your conversation with Mr Pinker!!! Gorgeous fabric and project! xx
