Leftovers?

Are you eating leftovers? Good afternoon, ya'll . I think we will be eating for days with all of the wonderful leftovers from Christmas Eve and Christmas.

How was your Christmas? Whether you celebrated quietly at home or with a large group, I hope your day was filled with happiness, love , and peace .  On Christmas Eve the family came over to my house where we had finger foods.

The youngins' worked on snow globes and decorating ugly sweater cookies.

The boys must have been extra special for Santa was good to them .

My little tree was all decorated in campers.

The shutters next my little camper tree was filled with Christmas quilts.

All of this will be changed over to snowmen very soon. But I have to admit, I am tempted to leave it out a little longer for I sure would love to be camping right now. Brrr, it would be cold though.

Just in time for Christmas , I finished The Scarlett House's  2022 freebie called Santa's Helpers. Thank you , Joan for the sweet finishing pieces.

I am going to try to stick to my rotation this new year. So I have a wee start on  a Merry Monday stitch. Merry Monday is  the day I will dedicate just a few minutes to stitch on a Christmas piece in order to move  the project along.

A project waiting to be finished is sitting in my stitchy chair. It is Cheri Payne's Wednesday's  Best  called " Santa Claus"  . The quilting was completed before Christmas. The binding will be completed by the night's end.

Eeeeh! Flurries are in the forecast!!! Will it happen? Probably not , but I have my snow boots and toboggan  ready just in case. In the meantime, I will stay inside glued to the window ,  dreaming of snowmen and snow cream.
Have a very lovely evening, ya'll and as always...

As always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Christmas calories do not count!
Hugs and Stitches!!!  And Snowman Kisses.
Dedicated to my dear sister, Amy. Who would  be out mom's along with myself each 26th of Dec. to enjoy the leftovers. Love  and miss ya, Amo.

  2. You are right, leftovers are very tasty. We have finished up the last of the roast lamb and salads, still have plenty of ham for several more meals. And I'll probably make a ham and egg pie sometime soon. So pleased you had a great time with family. I love your special camper tree, how cute indeed. Our Chrixmas of course is in Summer, and we all had a day at the beach yesterday!

    1. Oh I agree , Isabel. We woke up early and went over to my daugther's house to watch the grandbabies open their gifts. They were over the moon. We got just a dusting of snow not much to speak of , but it has been so cold here lately. We are hoping for warmer days soon. Thank you for the sweet visit.

  9. Hello Melisa! I've been using my tablet to read blogs the past couple weeks and for some mysterious reason it won't let me leave comments. I'm sure it's a button I have pushed or one I didn't push but need to. Anyhoo, I am on my computer so two things for you. First I got a good laugh over your dear grandson's embellishment of your adorable reindeer strawberry stitch. (do you think your precious sister gave him a little nudge?)
Next, I love the idea of making those snow globes with your grands. Mine will be 3 next Christmas so I was thinking that might be something I could do with him and he could give it to Mom and Dad for Christmas. I think I've tracked down the globes and was wondering are those bean bag pellets you used for your snow? One of my New Year resolutions is to be better prepared next holiday season for some fun things like this.
All the best to you and your family in 2023 and I thank you so much for your blog. It's such a nice place to visit,

    1. Good morning, Maureen. Lol thank you so much , the little grandson is a little jokester. I got a kick out of him doing that. The snow globes would be a fabulous project for your grandbabies. I have been doing these with the grandbabies and nephews for years and they family brings them out each year for display. I got all of the supplies at the Dollar Tree . The Dollar Tree had 2 sizes of snow pellets. I got the smallest. One small bag has lasted for 2 years and has been used to make 10 globes. I bought the little people at the Dollar Tree as well . They are for the snow villages. We always date and write the kiddos names on the bottom. It is fun to look back at them each year. I also got some cute felt ornaments at the Dollar Tree for them to create as well. I hope you found all of the supplies . Enjoy the rest of 2022 and wishing you the most blessed 2023 . Great resolution. I need to do the same. Hugs.

  11. It sounds like a wonderful Christmas for your family, Melisa! The boys are getting SO big--I bet you didn't even need gifts of your own as it is the best just sitting back and watching them open presents! Your camper tree is darling and I just love your Scarlett House finish--that is even cuter now that I've seen it all stitched up. Wishing you a wonderful remaining 2022! ♥

  12. Your little Santa quilt is darling. I like that you go to town (so to speak) decorating your house. I'm usually more interested in piecing, quilting, or reading to put much effort into decorating. Later this week we'll take down the Christmas decorations on the mantel and put out a slew of snowmen. Plus send my bigger Santa back to his corner of the basement and bring out the bigger snowmen. And, change a few quilts hanging in the great room. So, ok, I guess I'm actually going to decorate quite a bit for the winter season. Hope you have a great beginning to 2023.
