Tuesday This and That

Good Tuesday morning, Sweet Peas .

We have rain in the forecast all week. It just breaks my heart to hear of all of the suffering and loss due to the torrential rains in Texas.  In fact , it is hard to see the photos; I cannot imagine the devastation. My thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected.  🙏

Here in the holler, the summer rain will be welcomed though. Usually this time of the year they are just short pop up showers. The sprinkles will cut down my watering time in the gardens. Though I do admit, summer rain does leave a bit of mugginess in the air.

For the last few days, the garden has been my home! Yep, I have been spending every minute in them, pulling weeds, deadheading flowers and tending to the veggies.

If you are interested in stitching this piece,  just grab , the images. For printing tips, refer to the post Tips for Printing which has loads of tips from my sweet friends.

A little doodle just for you. My doodles are hand drawn and are never perfect.

Double Stuff says Hi!

But every now and then I have been able to slip in and make a few more blocks for my Kitchen Sink quilt aka Paper Chains .

6 more blocks pieced.

I have been stitching, but again during stolen moments when not in the garden.

The beginnings of "The Hum of the Bees"

The Hum of the Bees and Susan's Summer Saltbox

My printer has been on the fritz which has delayed me in sharing new charts. It takes about 15 minutes to print a page-how frustrating. I have my fingers crossed Mr. Pinker will find me a suitable printer during Prime Days on Amazon, but we shall see.

Soon I will be taking down patriotic decor. Starting in the small foyer.
Grandma's Love  quilt is front and center draped over a thrifted shutter.

My vintage white shelf was filled to the brim with a modge podge of items for the patriotic season.

Lots of tins and thrifted items

Soon all of this will be moved elsewhere.

I think I will put out watermelon decor next. 🍉🍉🍉

I have rambled long enough. I am off to see what the day allows. I wish you the most terrific day and remember to take a little time for yourself and do something you love even for just a moment.
 Love ya' !

As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

Enjoy the small things that happen day to day.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!🤗🧵❤

Dedicated to my baby sister, Amy . Tending to your gardens is bringing me joy.  Love and miss you, Amo.

We are eating lots of fresh salads this summer. Yum!

  1. Hi, this post brought a good laugh to me. The first pic showed a little cow, moo moo, nearly the same is in my kitchen. I found it when I was in the Netherlands together with my daughter. Yes it is a great disaster what's going on in Texas. I am so sorry for all the people and much more for the parents. Not much rain here in Germany. In my part they said rain for 2 says. But where???? We had some dark clouds and very little rain. You could count the drops. The forecast says more warm weather is coming.
    Have a happy day, Gabi

  2. I came to see what you're presenting today and to wish you a happy Tuesday, Melisa!
I like your patriotic decor and I adore that new graphic of the garden being my home...I yearn for a small garden in the city.
In the summer, I practically live off salads and dressings, because that's where we meet.
A big hug to everyone affected by the Texas floods...a Big disgrace.
    Hugs

  3. Your quilt blocks are looking good, Melisa. Heat, humidity, and possibility of showers/storms are in our forecast all week here as well. Makes for some good stitching time. Stay cool and hydrated!
