Santas and Cranberries

Ho ! Ho ! Ho!
11 more days until Christmas and  "Santa "  is going into the hoop.

Happy Wednesday, cupcakes!   Come on in for a quick visit.  I have been buzzing about the workshop working on Christmas quilts. In fact, I have 2 works in progress to show you.

Shhhh! Mr. Pinker may be missing a few shirts in the making of these quilts. I won't tell if you won't. 😀🤪

This Santa  is a design from Cheri Payne and was a  sweet gift from my dear friend,  Joan.  🤗   Such country cuteness is certainly the tinsel in my tree.

I finished appliqueing all of my little Santa blocks .Father Christmas is a design by Connie Tesene and Mary Tendall of Country Threads and can be found in the book , Fast , Fun & Fabulous Quilts

I gave a book small book flip through in an   earlier  post in November. If you would like to see more of the fabulous projects in this book, click here. It is loaded with pure country cuteness.

Now time for a yummy mouth watering recipe.

This is a holiday favorite that Mr. Pinker and I fixed last Christmas, and it will be on the table again this year.

We only make it twice a year which is a good thing because I could gobble the whole bowl of it.

Cranberry Marshmallow Salad

Serves: 10

INGREDIENTS:

4 cups of fresh cranberries

 1 1/4 cup of sugar

1 cup of heavy cream

1 10 oz bag of mini marshmallows

1 8 oz can of crushed pineapples, drained

1 cup of chopped pecans ( optional)

DIRECTIONS:

In a food processor , coarsely grind cranberries. Mix in 1 cup of sugar. Cover and place in fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight.    In a large bowl , whip the cream with the remaining 1/4 cup of sugar until stiff.  Stir in cranberries, marshmallows, pineapples and pecans.  Cover and place in fridge for 1 hour or until chilled. Enjoy!!! YUM!

Doesn't that sound delicious!!! I promise you it is.

Eeeh! Tomorrow is Embroidery Thursday. I will be finishing up my Flurry and Flakes SAL so I hope you will pop over for a visit. And speaking of SAL's, Joy at Days Filled with Joy is posting her Christmas QAL post today. I do have to pop over to get the next set of instructions . I am staying on top of this  QAL.

Alright , sweeties. I will chat with you later. Have a WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY and may your day be filled with sugarplums and gingerbread.  Christmas hugs and ..

As always

  10. You've got a whole bunch of cheeky little Santas there. And your dessert sounds delicious. We dont get fresh cranberries here, just dried ones, which I use in baking or sprinkled on top of my breakfast cereal. Guess I could substitute other berries instead to make the recipe instead.

    1. The Santas have been loads of fun to work on this month. How interesting that you do not have fresh cranberries in your area. I did not know that, but that is a great idea on using other fruit in the salad. I am going to have to try that during the summer- maybe blueberries or peaches. Yum.

  11. Adorable Santa quilts! The cranberry dessert looks yummy. A new recipe to try. We get cranberries here, but they are sooo expensive (imported fruit). Has your hubby complained about missing shirts?! :)

    1. Lol hubby has never missed them yet. He knows any fabric is fair game for a quilt. Hee hee! We just buy fresh cranberries twice a year on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Otherwise I just use the dried once in my baking. They are definitely a treat . Thank you for the sweet visit, Astrid. Happy quilting.
