Biscuits and A Sampler - A St. Patrick's Day Freebie

Butter my buns and call me a biscuit!!!

It's Wednesday already - how did that happen!!!

Good  morning ya'll . Is that a growling tummy that I hear? Maybe its my own .😋 I have a hankering for biscuits. How about you? Well just grab an apron .I am not too shy to ask for help in the kitchen . 😄 Now come on; I promise I won't ask you to wash the  dishes.

I have bookoos of biscuit recipes.

Now the ones we are making today are not the biscuits that I showed a couple of weeks ago , but they are sure to quiet the rumbly in your tumbly .

This is a 2 ingredient recipe and quick to prepare as well.

Ok, you grab a bowl, and I will get what we need out of the fridge and pantry-

Hmmm we need heavy cream and flour.  We will use Granny's old rolling pin. It looks pretty rough, but it does the job perfectly. It's my favorite rolling pin.🤗

We can't start without the recipe can we?  You can grab the image and print the recipe - Sorry it scanned sorta cockeyed.

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Do you mind if I get a pinch of the yummy raw dough?

Pat and roll!

Mason jar lids are great to use as biscuit cutters.  Another tip from Nanny.

Nanny always said "Don't twist the cutter but push it into the dough".

Two skillets ready to go into the oven.

While the biscuits are in the oven, let me show you what I am working on now.  It is another mini sampler but this one is for St. Patrick's Day. Just a simple lower case alphabet with a few shamrocks.

I have high hopes to finish it by evening. If you would like to join me and stitch one yourself, then grab the chart and your favorite green floss and then you can go to town on it.

UPDATE: I finished my Mini Sampler . It came  out cuter than I imagined.

If you are interested in stitching St. Patrick's Mini Sampler  ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

NOTE: Normally I have been able to create links to the charts and instructions which were in JPG form. For some reason, recent updates on Google Docs. has prevented me from doing that and I am not able to create a pdf without having to deal with storage issues.  Many dear stitchers say they right click, save the image and then print.  I think some have copied and pasted it to a Word document that they can print off as well. I hope you are able to find a way to enjoy this chart. You will have to click each page to save. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding and for all of the helpful tips and ideas.

I stitch my little designs for fun and to decorate my home. I feel very blessed by this community and love sharing my little charts, but I am not a professional designer. And I do not have professional software. Thank you for understanding . I am always grateful for your kind encouragement , your visits, and for stitching my little designs.

I think our biscuits are about ready.  Don't those look mouthwatering.  Oh, shucks! They didn't rise as high as I had hoped .

NANNY's BISCUIT TIP  # 200 - Pack the biscuits close together.

Sorry Nanny, I'll do better next time. Lol.  My Nanny was an amazing Southern cook.

Grab you a plate and mug of milk. I even have honey from our on bees.

Let's dig in and eat and then we will go stitch.

I  am so happy that you dropped by and spent some time with me today. 🤗

More biscuit recipes will soon follow.

I appreciate the sweet Wednesday visit.
As Always...

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Putting on the Green Freebie and a St. Patrick's Day Parade

Top of the morning to you! Happy Tuesday,  Sweet Ewe!

I am searching for four leaf clovers, but oh bummer, none to be found today. Maybe tomorrow.

St. Patrick's Day would not be complete for me without stitching a  darling ewe.  You have seen this gal before ;  Woo Hoo! It's Erin Ewe!!!  Here she is in 2021 lounging around in her tweed cap.

Erin Ewe

This  time Erin is grazing in a clover field, and she  looks quite spiffy decked out in a green . Notice  she is wearing the Irish tweed cap rather than sitting in it this time. This stitch is called "Putting on the Green" .

I finished "Putting on the Green "on a small Dollar Tree unpainted wooden tray that I painted white using Walmart Apple Barrel paint.

The pom pom trim and the black  1 1/2" wired buffalo check trim are from Amazon. The backing fabric is some old fabric that I had in my stash.

I did not have a piece of mat or foam board so I just mounted Erin on a piece of cardboard with 2 layers of batting underneath and used Aleene's tacky glue to adhere the trim and then  called her finished. I think she turned out pretty darn cute !!🐑☘

If you are interested in stitching Putting on the Green   ,grab the images below. Many of ya'll know but I always encourage you to read my little disclaimer and note about getting my charts.

OOOPS! I forgot to write in the directions that I used 1 strand of 895 to create a long stitch for the shamrock's stem in Erin's mouth.

NOTE: Some symbols on the colored chart do not show up well.  So  I have listed them

/ 937 is  used in the blanket  , the hat and the large clover.

X 895 is used in the hill , the floating clovers and the shamrock in Erin's mouth.

Since Erin is putting on the green , I thought today would be perfect for an early St. Patty's Day parade -a parade of stitches that is. If you see any that you are interested in click on the colored text and with a hop , skip and a jump you will make your way back to a previous post .

Here  we go!!!!

Wheew!!!! That was a short parade wasn't it? Lol. But this little collection I am sure will grow as time goes by.

Now on to a secret. Shhh! Don't tell anyone, but I started pulling out Spring decor !

I know . I know It is still February, but I am bound and determined to have sunshine in my day whether it is outside or with bright cheery spring country clutter.😀🌞🐰

Thank you for the sweet Tuesday visit and...

As always,

Happy Stitching and Quilting, ya'll

Friends, Flags and Stitching

😀🤗 Happy Monday and Happy President's Day to all of those in the U. S.!  I am celebrating the day feeling  blessed beyond measure with love and kindness from my stitchy friends. ❤🤗

And my day is beginning with  a little cross stitch finish.  Wooo Hooo!!! This is "July" from Pine Mountain  Designs. My dear friend, PJ,  sent me this darling stitch, and I am over the moon that I fully finished it way ahead of time. !!!!! . Doing the happy dance. 💃 Thank you sweet PJ.

Patriotic Jar and "July" by Pine Mountain Designs

I am "Counting Sheep" while working on Blue Whale Designs Liberty Homestead pattern. How can one resist a patriotic sheep , I ask you.  This pattern was a gift from my  thoughtful dear friend, Patricia who just like me has an affection for prim sheep. Thank you , dear Patricia. 🤗 These fabrics are over 20 years old so it feels good to be putting them into a quilt.

Last year I pieced "Long May She Wave" into a wee quilt. It will be going into a hoop tonight.  Do you recognize the cross stitch? I am pretty sure it was a freebie , but the name of the designer escapes my mind.

So what do you think?  I have a plethora of patriotic pieces to keep me busy. Don't you agree?

I plan to slowly take down my Valentine's decor and bring out anything green ! 25 Days until St. Patrick's Day. Oooh ! I better get on the stick.

Today begins the Sweet on You blog hop. I will be sharing on Friday. If you have a chance, hop on over and visit the ladies who are sharing today. I am sure you will  find some fabulous projects and inspiration galore.

Ya'll I have to admit that last week was a bust in respect to quilting and stitching so I am wiping the slate clean and writing out some goals for the week.

1. Applique one more sheep block .

2. Work on Heart in Hand's "Grow Whirlgig"

3. Piece Wild Wild Rose Blocks

4. Work on finishing my project for the blog hop

5. Eeeeh! Maybe go camping! Fingers crossed.

Alrighty ! We will see what I can get done. I will update you next week.

In the meantime, I better get to work if I am going to meet any of my goals so I am heading to my stitchy chair with needle and thread in hand. May your day be filled with joy , happiness and blessings and ...

Wordless Wednesday- A Doily Addiction

Good afternoon, ya'll. If you are wondering how I am doing with my addiction to doilies,  well not too good!!😁😃🙄 I added 7 more doilies to my collection yesterday. I was in doily heaven ,but in my defense they were just 75 ¢. I will show you those in future posts.  For my NOT SO WORDLESS WEDNESDAY POST, here a just a few doilies lingering in the kitchen along with a bit of country clutter. We won't talk about the other country clutter addictions? Lol.

Oh, you might see a dust bunny or two, but that is real life, just shoo them away  . 🤗

"May Peace Be Your Gift" is a freebie from Needlework Press and was posted on  their Facebook on Dec. 11, 2019.

I appreciate the sweet Wednesday visit.

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, ya'll
