Brrr it is cold out there! What am I saying- it is downright bone chilling!
Welcome sweet friends and Happy Monday. We have been slammed with a cold spell. Schools were delayed 2 hours today so the kiddos would not have to brave the freezing temps so early in the morn.
These last few days, Mr. Pinker and I have been away enjoying Christmas festivities with family. The hustle and bustle of the soon- Right?
The countdown is on! 10 more days until the very special day.
Do you have all of your Christmas shopping completed? Nope , not me! Mr. Pinker and I will make our final run for gifts on Wednesday when we go to the big city.
I am still stitching Christmas and will do so till the end of the year. I had meant to post my newest "Speaking of Christmas " stitch earlier, but alas I was making merry with family and friends.
"Joy" is my latest finish. Super simple but oh so cute- well at least in my eyes.
Did you notice what I have "Joy" nestled in?
Well, the other day at the thrift store, I found a metal soap dish which is as cute as a two dollar button.😀❤ I had to have it perhaps to put in my prim bathroom. But alas it has not made it there yet. Hee! Hee! I am enjoying using it for my cross stitch displays right now.

OOOPS- CORRECTION: If you copied the Direction page before December 17, 2025, I made a mistake on the Floss List. In the original directions , I listed symbol "V" DMC 407 as one of the flosses used. I did not use this color in the making of this design so please cross it off the Floss List.
Below is the corrected, DIRECTIONS PAGE. I am sorry for the mix up.

Since it is as cold as the dickens outside, I plan to stay in and cozy up to some slow stitching time this afternoon.
Now you stay warm and cozy yourself. Thank you for the sweet visit and...
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting,
y'all
Melisa

So glad to know you have been out spending time with family and friends, Melisa! That's the best part of this season, isn't it? "Joy" is a lovely design, and I'm putting it on my list! Right after I finish Santa which I've been working on recently. Have fun with your shopping - it's always such a good feeling to get that finished!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday, Diann. We have had a fun but busy few days with the kiddos. It felt good to just rest and piddle about the house today. Hopefully, we will get all of our shopping completed Wednesday. Fingers crossed. I hope you are enjoying stitching on Santa. He is one of my favorites in this series. Hugs.
DeleteFamily time is always nice but during the holidays, it is the BEST! Joy is an adorable little stitch, Melisa. I love all of the "Speaking of Christmas" pieces.
ReplyDeleteIt sure it, Jeanna! We have had a great time visiting family. More will be coming into town this next week so we are excited. Thank you for the sweet Monday visit. I wish you a lovely week. Hugs.

ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like it!!
I loved this collection of Christmas words, Melisa!
Thank you for sharing.

Oh I do too, Isabel especially when we can gather, enjoy quality time and relax. It makes it even more special. I wish you a lovely week and thank you for the kind compliment. Warm hugs
DeleteThank you for the beautiful pattern. Enjoy the time around Christmas !
ReplyDeleteAaw you are so welcome, Annelies and thank you for dropping by to see my little stitch today. I wish you a lovely week. Happy stitching. Hugs.
DeleteThank u for these patterns they r cute
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Lisa. These are simple little stitches, but I am enjoying creating and sharing them. Have a blessed day. Warm hugs.
DeleteLove "Joy" and all the other fabulous and oh so lovely Christmas themed patterns. Thank you for sharing your talent with us, once again. Christmas will be very quiet in my home since both grandsons will be working. Reminds me of my husband when he was active duty military and would volunteer to work so the younger guys could spend the day with their families. Didn't stop us from enjoying the day. Not much happening in my little corner of the world. Little to no sewing but last week I stitched like my hair was on fire. LOL I managed to pick up a bug while out with a neighbor friend so there was lots of sleeping and/or nodding off while sitting. It's not fun to fall asleep with my needle in my hand. Can you say ouch! Happy Monday and the holidays. Big Christmas hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteGood evening, dear Darlene. I do hope you are feeling better and have been getting the rest you need. I think the nasty bug is going around for I have caught it too. I have been running in low speed these last few days. Not any fun at all is it? It just warmed my heart to hear how your hubby volunteered for active duty so the others could enjoy the holidays. I know you are proud of him and miss him so much. Now you get better soon so you can stitch the days away! Hmmm maybe some chicken noodle soup is in order. Big hugs to you sweet Darlene.
DeleteIt is wonderful spending times with family. The Joy Speaking of Christmas design is lovely. Thank you for this wonderful series. I can't believe there are only 10 days to Christmas! Thanks for the visit. Alicia
ReplyDeleteGosh I cannot believe how fast the days are going by. I love the holidays so much and just wish they would slow down a bit. LOL. Thank you , dear Alicia for the sweet visit and kind compliment on my little stitches. I have enjoyed working on them. Hugs.
DeleteYou are always giving us the sweetest patterns - thank you so much. Shopping has been done for awhile - dh and I are doing our own 12 days of Christmas with the last being on Christmas Day. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOh I think that would be so much fun to do the 12 Days of Christmas. I wish I had not dragged my feet on shopping. As the kiddos grow older, I do not know what to get them. LOL . Have a great evening, Donna and thank you . Hugs.
DeleteJoy is so cute! I just downloaded the instructions, thank you. My goodness it must be cold if school was delayed! I love the little bath basket - that is exactly the way I love to repurpose thrifty things!
ReplyDeleteAaw I hope you enjoy it, Linda. Thank you so much. LOL we cannot take "cold" here in the south. If the weatherman just mentions snow, we rush the stores and close the schools. Hee! Hee! We really do. Have a great evening. Hugs.
DeleteThank you so much for the Joy stitch. So pretty! Love the poinsettia framing around the word. So happy for you to hear of all the celebrating you've been doing with friends and family. Can't ever have too much of that. I got to go to my annual tea party at my friend's house. So fun and the ornament and cup White Elephant exchange got good and rowdy with a lot of stealing of presents. Such good natured fun. What I brought home is very pretty and I am happy. I finally got all my mailed gifts out the door today. So late this year.
ReplyDeleteAaw it sounds like you had loads of fun, Ginny. Our quilt guild did the White Elephant exchange once. It was a hoot! I am glad you received a wonderful gift. Now did you swipe anyone's gift? Hee! Hee! It's all part of the fun - right? Thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteOh 'Joy' is so adorable!! It looks perfect nestled into your display.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Vicki. This ornament has been on my mind for awhile . I am so glad to finally have it stitched and on display. I hope your day has been a delightful one. Hugs.
