Rain is on its way! Well at least that is what the weatherman says. We shall see though.
Good Thursday morning, Sweeties. How is the weather in your neck of the woods? I hope it is pleasant.
Yesterday, we had a spot of rain as well. I spent time indoors working on my Peppermint Pinwheels blocks.
QUESTION: Do you like peppermint candy? It is a must have during the holidays. I fill my candy dish with these sweet , little treats- just as my Nanny did.❤💚
| 10 more blocks completed. |
Since it will be raining today, I will create more of these sugar coated red and green blocks . ❤💚
It is Embroidery Thursday for me as well. Sooo.... I will also begin embroidery work using my new set of Country Christmas doodles. I will work mine up into ornaments using DMC 498.
These are the ones I completed last week.

The other day, I pulled out some of my little embroidered Christmas quilts that I sit here and there and everywhere! 🎅🤶
My grandsons' handprints are some of my favorites.
I even made one into a pillow. Aah little Mr. R's baby handprint. ❤🤗

Well Sweeties, I will keep it short and sweet. Thank you for visiting me on this lovely rainy day.

Yesssss, I love peppermint candies but I cannot get the little red/white one in my country.
ReplyDeleteI still have the candy canes which I brought years ago from Canada. Oh my Gosh where is the time. Can you hold it on?
The quilt are beautiful, like the handprints. Great.
The weather is not made for me. Yesterday snow, today rain, weekend ???
I like it warm, sunny sky and sitting in the garden.
Hugs and a happy day,
Gabi
Oh how interesting that the peppermint candies are not available . I buy candy canes every year . I think the grandsons like them more than the little round ones. LOL. It sounds like the weather is like a roller coaster ride in your area. I am with you- warm sunny days are a delight. I am not ready for winter. Have a blessed day.
DeleteYour Peppermint Pinwheels quilt is so stinkin' cute. Perfect fabric for pinwheels. I love it so much!! Gotta lot all the redwork embroidery. Lately I've been thinking about doing some redwork embroidery. It's been quite a while since I've done any embroidery. Yours are always fabulous. And of course you already know how much I love your houses. Can't remember the last one I stitched. I should start writing down everything I'd enjoy stitching very soon. Sometime in 2026 is a strong possibility.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a colder and rainy day today and I really enjoyed the change of pace. Happy, Happy Thursday!!! Hugs, DarleneJ
I am glad to hear that you got a spot of rain, Miss Darlene. I am sure y'all probably needed it. It was overcast all day and finally the rain arrived here. Thankfully, it was a gentle rain. I am having a ball working on the pinwheels. I do need to determine how many more I want to make though. LOL. I am starting to make stitching plans for 2026 too. Gosh there is so much I want to do . I am sure you will have a wonderful array of projects to keep you a busy busy bee. Have a great evening. Warm hugs .
DeleteLove Peppermint candy - in fact, I had a peppermint shake from Chick Fil A yesterday! Your hand print ornies are darling! I may steal your idea! I think I may start your redwork ornies after the holidays - something new for next year. No rain here - we're beginning our drought season. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteOoh I have never had a peppermint shake. I bet it was delicious! Hmmm I think I need a sweet treat. LOL. The little handprints are definitely precious and a wonderful memory of my little munchkins. They are growing like a week. Thank you so much for the sweet visit, Donna. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteOh the fabrics in the Peppermint Pinwheels are sooooo sweet! Yes, I gotta have peppermint candies year round!
ReplyDeleteI'm a year round peppermint lover too. I always keep a few in my purse. I am having a great time working on these little blocks. I hope to add 10 more by the end of the week . Fingers crossed. Thank you for the sweet visit, Kathy. Hugs.
DeleteYour doodles are adorable, and your Peppermint Pinwheels look beautiful. I'm not crazy about the little round peppermint candies, but I'll eat a candy cane - weird huh? I like chocolate with my peppermint! :D
ReplyDeleteDo you like York peppermint patties, Linda? They are some of my favorites. I just get them once a year- a sweet treat to remind me of my Great Aunt who loved them. Aaw thank you so much for the sweet compliment on my doodles and blocks. I have been working on both today. I hope your day has been a lovely one. Warm hugs.
DeleteThose handprint blocks are just too precious! I bet you remember making the drawing of each one!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteOh I do, Terry. The little one was always hard to keep still even to make just to draw out his teeny hand. They are growing up on me way too fast which I know you understand. Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit. Hugs.
DeleteI love your pinwheel quilt. The addition of the pink to the green and red is delightful! If I didn’t have so much to do today, I’d head to my sewing room and start cutting!!! Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Missy. These colors just speak to me so I am having a ball working on them. Hopefully, you will get some time in the sewing room soon so you can enjoy working on some. Have a blessed day and Happy Thanksgiving.
DeleteYour peppermint quilt is so cute...I do love a peppermint candy cane (or 2, 3, 4--hahaha).
ReplyDeleteLovely doodles for ornaments, Melisa...I am downloading them for a project in the future--thanks so much...hugs, Julierose
Aaw thank you so much, Julierose. I hope you enjoy the little doodles. I have been working on one today. Oh yes, you have to have a peppermint candy cane or two. Hee! Hee! I already have bought a box this season. Warm hugs.
DeleteI agree, Peppermint candy is a must for the holidays. The Christmas embroideries are so cute, Melisa. I really hope I can find time to stitch a few. Thank you for sharing them with us! The handprints are such treasures, what a great idea.
ReplyDeleteOh yes a must indeed. My candy bowl is already filled with them. LOL. I hope you enjoy the little doodles if you get the chance to work on them. I have been stitching one today.Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteYes to Peppermint Candy especially during December. But I do like them all year round. Cute doodles, Melisa.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I am the same, Robin. I fill the candy dish near Thanksgiving, but I purchase them year to put in my purse and travel bag . I hope you are having a good day. Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYour doodles are adorable! Yes, I love peppermint candy! My Granny always had soft peppermint candy sticks during the holidays. I loved it. I love your peppermint pinwheels too!
ReplyDeleteThe soft peppermint sticks are the bomb! I love them, but rarely see them out in our stores. My husband's friend gave us a box of Red Band peppermint clove sticks one year . They were divine! Thank you for the sweet Thursday visit. Hugs.
Deletegood morning lovely Melisa.
ReplyDeletewe are expecting rain today as well. woohoo!!! bring it on, but as i have said a 100 times no thunder and lightning please.
i love your raggedy ann doll. she is absolutely precious. i'll look on the website to see what she offers. i just may have to purchase one of her cute, cute, cute dolls.
i love how far you have gotten on peppermint pinwheels. it is going to be a beautiful quilt and one that is larger than the littles you make. i can't wait to see it finished.
i am ready for the rain. i think it's supposed to start early afternoon and rain until tomorrow morning. we'll see!!! i am being optimistic, however.
well sweet lady i guess i better get busy preparing for this marvelous day. i hope you have some rain, but no flooding please.
have a wonderful, blessed day Melisa.
blessings and love are on the way to you.
Debra Broyles
Good afternoon, dear Debra. Oh I am so glad to hear that you will be getting a spot of rain as well. I agree- no thunder, lightening or flooding please or wind-. LOL. Thankfully, ours has been gentle. I always worry about the wind since we live in the holler with all of the trees. Isn't that Raggedy Ann the cutest. I am a Raggedy Ann lover. My Nanny was a doll maker and always made them for the grandchildren and to sell. I have a small collection of them. I hope you have a wonderful day. Enjoy the pitter patter of the rain and stay dry. Warm hugs from a rainy holler.
DeleteOh my you are a little busy 'beaver' these days--always coming up with new patterns and then sharing them with us--and yes--I have copied off several--though I am not sure when I will get to work on any of them--but then with me--one never knows?????--I think I am about caught up on all the extra work I have had to do in the apartment--my tote of fall decorations--is still sitting there calling my name--I mean Thanksgiving is less that a week away and then it's that Merry jingle all the way time--I have made myself go outside and sit in the sun for the last 5 days or so for 15 minutes and I do believe it is helping some!!!! Well off to do some sorting and putting some fabrics away--stay dry--hugs, di
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, Di. It is so good to hear from you. I think that is a great idea to go outside and try to soak up as much sun as possible even for just a few minutes a day. I love the warmth of the sun. I guess that is why I love the Spring and Summer seasons so much. I hope you will share your Christmas decorations when you have your apartment all decorated; it always makes me happy to see your pretties on display. Have a blessed and beautiful evening. Hugs.
DeleteI adore those days when the gentle rain patters against the windows while I read, embroider, or paint inside, warmed by the hearth and surrounded by my family... few feelings are better, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteYou've shared some wonderful work, as always, my friend.
Hugs from Spain
Oh yes, the rain can be quite peaceful and it is even better when a fire is in the hearth and family is all around :) I hope your day was a very lovely one, Isabel. Warm hugs and love.
DeletePeppermint candy is OK, but what I really adore is chocolate peppermint marshmallows!
ReplyDeleteMmmm I do not know if I have ever tried chocolate peppermint marshmallows. I don't think one could go wrong there. They sound delicious. Thank you so much for the sweet visit, Jenny. Now I am going to see if any of our stores carry those delectable treats. Hugs.
DeleteI do like peppermint candies, and I like your peppermint pinwheels, too! Such great colors in them. Fun to see your embroidered Christmas quilts, too! These little doodles are so fun to stitch - I have finished a few of them this week. I have a fun idea for how to finish them - will share in my Sunday post!
ReplyDeleteOooh I am intrigued, Diann. I cannot wait to see your embroideries come Sunday. Eeeeh! Thank you so much for stitching the little doodles. I have been working on one today. Hopefully , I will finish it tonight. Fingers crossed. Warm Hugs and Happy stitching.
DeleteIt’s getting harder to find, but I love Peppermint Ice Cream for Christmas Dinner dessert along with Christmas Cookies! Love your doodles!
ReplyDeleteCome to think of it, I haven't seen Peppermint Ice Cream in our stores in years. Long ago we had a locally owned grocery store that always sold a variety of products that you didn't see at the big box stores- that is where we would get ours along with our Christmas punch. Sadly it closed down a few years ago. I had completely forgotten about peppermint ice cream. Thank you for bringing back a warm memory, Gail . Hugs and Blessings.
DeleteYou’re welcome! Hugs and Blessings to you too!
DeleteIt has been cloudy and drizzling rain all day. I love peppermint candy and candy canes. They had been part of our holidays for as long as I can remember. The Peppermint Pinwheels quilt is beautiful the colors are perfect. I have so many cross stitch patterns stacked up to finish that I haven't been able to get to any embroidery, but I have copied the doodle patterns and I am looking forward to stitching them one day. Your little Christmas quilts are so festive. Thank you for the visit. Alicia
ReplyDeleteGosh , it has been the same way here today. Thankfully, it was not cold though. I went through my stack of "needing to be finished " cross stitches the other day after we chatted about having stacks of them. LOL. I pulled out my Christmas themed ones in hopes of nudging myself into doing just that. We shall see though. Hee! Hee! Thank you so much for bringing a smile to my day, Alicia and for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteThe latest doodles are so cute. Love the little Charlie Brown tree. The hand prints are inspiring. I did the handprint turkeys (the ones we traced our hand to make) with my 3 gr'sons prints for their Thanksgiving banner
ReplyDeleteIt went before I was done! I have peppermints around all year. The red & green with the zing of pink is so festive and happy.
ReplyDeleteMy oh so special grandmother, I called her Mrs. Hembree all my life kept out the ribbon candy for the holidays.
ReplyDeletePeppermint Pinwheels are adorable and I had to not look at them too hard as I want to stitch them in those colours and I can't start another project right now! Thank you for the Country Christmas Doodles...adorable as well. So happy to see you stitching the Moda Christmas ones too. So much stitchy goodness in our corner of the internet, Melisa!
