"Whatcha' workin' on ?" asked Mr. Pinker as I sat in the camp chair stitching away.
"Huh? Oh, Little Clementine! " I replied. Quickly I picked up my fabric to show him my newest Halloween Stamp in the works.
"Cute, " he replied as he turned to walk away.
"Cute? Downright adorable in my book," I chuckled. I then went back to work with great intent on finishing the little feline. Of course, I had already stitched the border for another stamp, the night before. I reasoned it could be filled in later when I come up with an idea.
Meanwhile Mr. Pinker went into the camper. Soon I heard a clickety clank.
"Whatcha' doing, Hun?" I yelled over my shoulder.
" I am going to fix you some supper. A busy gal has got to eat doesn't she? "
"Eeeh you are a keeper! " I shouted at the top of my lungs. And with that I went back to stitching away on little ole' Clementine.
As Mr. Pinker bustled about in the ole' truck camper kitchen, I listened to the melody of a bird serenading me from high above somewhere in the trees. I never did spot her, but I was glad to listen to her as I worked on Clementine. Soon a wonderful aroma wafted through the air. Supper would soon be ready.
"Hmmm, what magical concoction has Mr. Pinker whipped up," I said to Miss Birdie high in the trees.
"Chirp, Chirp" whistled Miss Birdie.
"Hmm I am not sure what that is, but it smells delicious, " I replied back.
From deep in the camper, Mr. Pinker rang, "Supper is ready! "
With that I dropped little Miss Clementine. Baby Jack -aka a jack- o- lantern bucket - had joined the stitch. Only a few more stitches to go and Clementine would be completed.
After filling my belly full , it was time to finish Clementine. It did not take long to do that. I even gave her a little bow which I tied and then stitched into place.
Once we were home , I was able to finish Clementine into a little pin pillow- all complete for the Halloween season.

So what's my plans today? Well, I am thinking of brewing up some trouble by working on another Halloween stamp.
I will also continue working on the ever so lovely Home For the Holidays Sampler by Lori Holt- a sweet gift from dear Joan. The holly is all stitched soon I will be moving toward the house.
As far as my quilting goes? How about my Alabama Beauty!
I will continue working on these projects throughout the week. I think these projects will allow me to get my 15 minutes of stitching a day in. Don't you?
By the way, my 15 minute project for this week was Alabama Beauty. I made it to the bottom of the quilt - now it is time to switch to the other half of the quilt. Woo Hoo! I am doing the Happy Dance!
Well , Sweeties, I have chatted your ears off again. Thank you so much for visiting me today and hearing the tale of Clementine and another lazy day at camp.
As Always...
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all
Melisa

ReplyDeleteClementine is so cute, especially with little Jack hanging from her tail! Thanks for sharing your fun designs, Melisa. And so nice of Mr. P to help you out by cooking dinner, too!
ReplyDeleteYou have been busy! Alabama Beauty looks great. Clementine and Little Jack is an adorable stamp. I have added it to my list to stitch before Halloween. Thanks for sharing your day. Alicia
ReplyDeleteWell, Miz Melisa I do declare that Miss Clementine is downright adorable. That little punkin hanging off her tail is an adorable touch. I've been stitchin' away on something with dense stitching hoping I'll finish it soon but I'm about to put into a bag to finish in 2026. LOL I've also been making another circle quilt that will go to a very dear friend who's helped me in time of serious need. 2025 has been a very difficult year for me!!! Unfortunately, I get very teary when I think about it. I keep telling myself that this too shall pass but I do not deserve what's been happening. Anyway, it is what it is. Will you be home long or hitting the road again. Mr P is a keeper, please give him a big ole hug. And, big hugs to you. DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteI love your Halloween stamp collection, dear Melisa 🎃!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hugs from Spain

ReplyDeleteI have stitched that sampler by Lori too and enjoyed every minute of it! Still need to find a good frame for it.
I hope you have a wonderful week full of stitching and fun! I doubt I'll get much stitching in this week...i've got lots of cleaning and tidying to do because my friends from Germany are coming to visit for two weeks this Saturday 🥳
Talk to you soon! Hugs and love from Maine, Alex 🥰

ReplyDeleteMr Pinker's plate of food looks outstanding! Clementine is just adorable.
ReplyDeleteHow do you keep dreaming up new things to stitch!! I LOVE Clementine! I am gonna have to stitch faster, LOL.
ReplyDeleteGreat little Halloween-ey Stamp, Melisa--so darn cute!! Mr. Pinker is definitely "a keeper"--so nice to be treated to a supper you don't have to prepare--altho' I do like cooking, it's great to have a break now and then isn't it? ;)))
ReplyDeleteI am still on the mend after my shot --so not much sewing going on here at all... but I did find a backing for a little Christmas table topper and layered it...but even that tired this olde gal out..;(((
Hugs, for a good week Julierose
Dinner looked mighty fine, Melisa. Clementine is adorable. Well done!
ReplyDeletegood morning camper Melisa. i bet you look so lovely sitting in your chair with stitching in hand singing to the birdies. i wish i was there stitching with you.
ReplyDeleteMr. Pinker sure can cook up some yummy grub. was it as delicious as it looked? yummy!!! i bet it filled your tummy up and you were able to sleep peacefully.
i love, love, love little Miss Clementine and Baby Jack. so cute, cute, cute!!! i did print the pattern (of course, I did, i have a great two ream stack of Pinker n Punkin projects "to do" stack) and hope to work on it very soon. i also had to print the Boo and Jack stamp. i didn't have that in my collection. thank you, thank you, thank you. you are so creative and a talented whiz!!!
i hope you are enjoying the great outdoors. my husband has end stage COPD so we are pretty much homebound. he is on oxygen 24/7, but is able to get around and manage just fine. the only real outings we do are to doctor visits, but that's okay. i am able to get to my guild meetings, quilt activities, quiltie friend get-togethers, etc. it just puts a damper on us doing anything together other than doctor appts such as going to lunch, dinner, visiting, etc. someday they'll invent oxygen tanks that last longer than five hours and we'll be able to make extended trips to my daughter and sons' houses in arizona. medical technology has come so far. i am so grateful for all the medical scientists who keep bringing new inventive miracles to people. anyway, enough of that. we have much brighter things to get to such as quilting and stitching.
are you seeing much wildlife? are you far from home? praying the weather has cooled while on your adventures. it was a beautiful week here weather wise last week, but this week we are onto hotter weather. yikes!!! not for me!!!
time for me to get Lola harnessed and ready for her walkie. it's nice in the morning. not too warm, but by the time we finish i am very warm. ha
blessings and love are on the way to you sweet Melisa. stay safe and enjoy the serenity of nature.

Hi Debra ~ Your message was long and caught my eye with COPD - I can spot that anywhere. My husband has end stage as well but is a bit more advanced. He's been on palliative care a while and now we are looking at Hospice as a next step. I just wanted to send you an extra hug and a little virtual support.
Deletesharon - thank you so much for your message. my husband is not on palliative care at this point. he says he doesn't want any outside help. i'm the one that's going to need it for support. it is hard watching him when he is having a breathing episode.
Deletei'm so sorry for you and your husband Sharon. my prayers and thoughts are with you. God bless you both at this very difficult time.
Debra Broyles
I love your stories! I love your quilts. :) I love that little Clementine. And your husband made an amazing meal. Blessings!

ReplyDeleteArent you clever! It never seems to take you too long at all to stitch up a little something.
ReplyDeleteYou are so generous! All your stitcheries are wonderful and Little Clementine is a cutie for sure! Your camping sounds so incredibly fun & peaceful. I love listening to the little birdies and the big birdies too -- think owls & blue jays! Hoot! Hoot! Squawk! Squawk! Take care and keep on enjoying the great outdoors and sharing with us, your faithful readers!

ReplyDeleteCute, cute stamp! Your supper looks delish! You've reached the halfway point on AL Beauty! WooHoo! You go, Girl!
ReplyDeleteAw... little clementine is adorable, Melisa. I just adore black cats :) And a husband who cooks--lucky you! My husband will grill if I ask him to, but never cooks or offers to on his own. At least he gets his own breakfasts and lunches, though, so that's more than my dad ever did. Ha ha! Enjoy your day ♥
ReplyDeleteHappy week to you! Your Clementine is just precious! I am working on Halloween ornaments for my grands. Your dinner looked good and I have shrimp on the menu here this week too. Your camping trip sounds wonderful. It must be cooler where you are....here in AR it is in the 90's but it does dry up the humidity! LOL! Regardless of the heat I am decorating for Fall, I've ordered Fall books to read, and candles.....I love it! I love your hexie flowers and your quilt too. I have a hexie project I just can't find it....typical me! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love hearing the tale of Clementine and another lazy day at camp ;)) I can see that your Mr. Pinker looks very like mine (well, not the same name ;D), it's good to be supported! Your stamp pincushions collection is adorable! Love your sweet hexies too. Thank you for sharing with us and linking up!
ReplyDeleteClementine is definitely a precious little stamp, Melisa! My Chicken Legs does most of the cooking here unless we have company coming, then we both work on the food. They are definitely keepers, for sure! His supper looks great! Great job on getting along with Alabama Beauty and your hexie flowers. Have a great week and thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings.
