Good Sunday morning. May I greet you with some country clutter? Lol.
A little area that is fixing to be cleared out and changed. These are some of my favorite things, Raggedy Anns and Andys, stitching, wooden items, toys and of course little quilts.
School started this past week.
Both grandsons are at the elementary school now, and they love it.
I made this teeny rug mug on Thursday since the little one was not here to entertain me. I can not believe he is in Pre-K.
I finished the binding on last Sunday's little quilt, Family is Everything.
It is hung in the hall for now.
On this Slow Stitching Sunday, you will find me quilting on "Fair and Square " a quilt design from Kim Diehl's new book , Simple Whatnots II.
It is in the hoop ready to be finished.
Oh, what else can I get into? Orange plaid shirtings are being cut into 1 1/2 " strips.
I'm thinking lots of four patches for a little quilt. Fall is on my mind.
What a lovely pile of yellow scraps.
I am going to nose dive into these small strips and see what I can create.Scrappy striping sounds like a lot of fun .
So my plans on the cross stitch front . Well I pulled out Little House Needleworks, Autumn ABC's this past week, and I hope to put more stitches in it.
It is going to be a relaxing day . So what do you have planned for Slow Stitching Sunday?
Thank you so much for visiting and as always...
Happy quilting and stitching, ya'll
Melisa
I am joining these lovely ladies' link parties. I hope you check them out; they always have so many wonderful projects going on and provide the opportunity for other needle workers to meet.

As always, your clutter looks lovely! The mug rug is very sweet, will be great to use for cocoa for the grandsons. The simple whatnots quilt looks like fun but I LOVE the quilt on the cover of the pattern! The autumn ABC's will be perfect for fall.
ReplyDeleteWhat am I doing today? After I finished mowing yard yesterday, I decided to take it easy and do a simple project that I don't enjoy, stitching a sleeve to the back of a wallhanging. When I pinned the sleeve onto the back, I wondered why it was so short? I thought I had measured several times but just thought, oh well and started stitching. I watched several programs on TV while stitching. I finally completed this several week pushed back job shortly before bedtime. I held it up after finishing and realized why the sleeve was too short, I sewed it on the wrong side! I will spend today removing all the stitching I did yesterday afternoon and start stitching it onto the correct end. Blah!
Happy Sunday, Gretchen. Oh my and bless your heart.I so hate that you did all that work and it was on the wrong end. I feel for you for I have been known to do the same thing. Lol I hope the ripping will go fast so that you can get the sleeve on and your quilt hung so you can enjoy. Thank you for the sweet visit, dear
DeleteMelisa, you always do country clutter so beautifully! There is so much for the eyes to drink in and enjoy. Love the sweet Raggedy Ann sitting on the old school desk. LOVE the enamel tub stacked with those pretty quilts. Those orange plaid shirts are lovely; very autumnal. Enjoy your hand stitching today. Fair and Square will be fantastic once you have finished quilting it.

Happy Sunday, Maureen. I hope you have had a great day and am so delighted you spent some time with me. I have been quilting and stitching away. That little Lookie book was a Goodwill find for less that a dollar and is dated 1949- such a treasure. Thank you so much for the visit and have a blessed week, my dear.

ReplyDeleteAah thank you so much, Robin. This is a little area in my hall that I like to change out. I am thinking sunflowers but I have to admit fall is calling to me and when I want to sneak in a holiday early - I start in the hall where few will see that I am jumping a season. Lol. Have a great week my dear.
DeleteFair and Square is a lovely piece of work!! Love those orange shirts--what a great spark they will add to a project!! Your (what you call clutter0 little vignette pieces are just really charming together...thanks for sharing hugs, Julierose

DeleteWhat fun "clutter" you've shared today, Melisa! I stitched that piece in the middle of your first photo (ABC's) way back in the 80s, too, and have no idea where it is?!?! That brought back nice memories :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad your grandsons are enjoying school-that was always a favorite time of year for me, too--both when I was a student and when I sent all three boys off after a busy, busy summer :) Enjoy your week! ♥
Happy Sunday, Carol . I found that little country sampler at the Goodwill for a dollar. I was jumping up and down because I just love the early 1980's -early 90's cross stitches and crafts. I feel like a definitely scored that day. Thank you so much for the sweet visit and happy stitching.

I’m trying to ignore the fact that fall is coming. I’m clinging to summer for as long as I can...that being said, I like the autumn abc’s project you are working on.
