Howdy do! And a very lovely Sunday to you! I hope your day is off to a delightful start. Do come in and sit for a spell. Bring some stitching to work on as we sit and chat.
Can you believe that we are wrapping up May? Wheww ! Where did the month go?
Goodbye May! May Berry Basket
The rains have continued throughout the week. Earlier this week the winds blew a few trees down and thus we were without electricity and cable for a few days, but all is well now , though the cable line is still laying on the ground.😕🙄
Rainy day on the farm.
I have tried to keep busy . The strawberry decor has been gathered up and put away. I am still stitching berry related items though.
Most of the strawberry decor was put away this week.
Patriotic decor is slowly but surely coming out. I am a little late this year .
I began decorating with patriotic quilts , stitching and lots of dishes.
One of my favorite decorators on Youtube posted her kitchen patriotic tour the other day. Have you watched Jean E. ? Her video posts always bring a smile to my day. This year's patriotic kitchen tour was a delight for the eyes. So if you have a chance pop over to visit her. Jean is precious. 😀
This week's finish was "Every Heart Beat True" from Annie Beez Folkart. This chart was a darling gift from my friend Robin. I began stitching it while in Quartzsite earlier this year. Lots of fond memories are wrapped up in this stitch. Thank you , sweet friend.
With a finish under my belt, that means I want to start something new. Well to be honest, I am always ready for a new start. Hee! Hee!
Anywhoo... These are the designs that I want to begin this week-- USA Banner Spool by Crafty Bluebonnet, a gift from my sweet friend, PJ . We both love patriotic designs. The 2nd design I want to start is Lizzie Kate's "Let Freedom Ring" a darling gift from dear Susan who is a prolific stitcher and loves all things vintage just like me. Thank you , sweet friends. 😘❤ I miss both of you on Instagram. I do need to visit IG more often.

More cuteness overload!!! You're like the energizer bunny - going and going.. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou always seem to be enjoying whatever you're doing - stitching, sewing, gardening, etc.
Happy Sunday with lots of hugs, DarleneJ
Happy Happy Sunday, dear Miss Darlene. LOL I wish I was the Energizer bunny! I miss her days of endless energy, but I am still plugging along. Today was a good day. I even pulled out some old projects to work on. I hope your day was just as delightful, sweet friend. Hugs.
DeleteI like your new patriotic projects.
ReplyDeleteKisses
Aaw thank you so much, Isabel. I was able to make progress on Let Freedom Ring today and I started The Little Patriot. Every little stitch counts as they say. I wish you a lovely evening. Hugs.
DeleteHappy Sunday my friend! Yesterday was my mom in law's 89th birthday! Wow! When we celebrate her birthday, I know May is over and summer is officially starting. In 2 weeks, we'll be on the road again visiting family and friends. Thank you for the sweet patriotic stitch - to be truthful - I have not started on anything patriotic this year. :-( Time seems to be running out for me. I ordered the patriotic freebie from Stoney Creek but I know it won't be here in time to stitch before we go. I've got a few of yours saved and ready to print but alas, we need new ink. LOL! Anyway, thank you again for all you do for us. Have a blessed Sunday and week!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, dear Donna and Happy Birthday to your Mother- in- Love. Wow 89! How wonderful! I hope she had a fabulous day . Oooh you are so lucky to be getting ready to hit the road again. I hope you have a great time which I am sure you will. We will only be taking short trips this year, but that is ok. I can still dream. I know what you mean about being behind on patriotic stitching. I had high hopes this year, but for some reason I have been dragging. Oh well, I will try to get a few completed though. The little Stoney Creek stitch is adorable . I had to hop over to see it. Have a wonderful week . I know you will be busy getting ready for your road trip. Hugs.
DeleteYour patriotic truck finish looks great. You will enjoy stitching the spool by Crafty Bluebonnet and the small by Lizzie Kate. Both are fun stitches. When you are finished with the rain, please push it my way. Happy Sunday!
ReplyDeleteLOL we have been getting plenty of rain to send your way, Robin. It has been nice to not have to water the plants, but I am sure it will not be long before it heats up. I loved stitching the patriotic truck. It was such a relaxing trip . Every time I look at it I will think of you and my time stitching it while camping . I hope you had a great day. Hugs.
Deleteomygosh, Melisa--that Tumbleweeds piece is just SO beautiful--I just love quilts with repeating squares lately...great color combos in this one.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you'll have plenty to keep you busy throughout this coming month of June--gosh, May just flew by didn't it? I'll have no excuses left for extending my May birthday celebrations now hahaha!
We are hoping that the pollen blew right away yesterday during our big wind storm!! Right now our deck looks like the aftermath of a hurricane!! Cleaning up is on our agenda today for sure...hugs, Julierose
Oh goodness, I hope there was not any damage with the wind storm. It is amazing how even a small gust can create havoc. Right? I am enjoying working on Tumbleweeds. I bought the top a couple of years ago and it is quilting up so nicely. I hope to finish this quilt before the year's end. Have a great evening and don't work too hard. Hugs.
DeleteLOVE your rainy day on the farm pic! What a beautiful view you have. I'm sorry you were out of power and cable!
ReplyDeleteI did not watch all of Jean's video, but she looks and sounds so nice, and her kitchen was full of such pretty and neatly arranged treasures. I bet you would have a gazillion more followers if you did YouTube videos!
That is a sweet Little Patriot design. Have a great Sunday!
Aaw thank you so much, Linda. Up on the hill at the farm has the most beautiful view of the hills and mountains. Luckily the power was restored quickly, but cable/ Internet service was another story. LOL. Thank you so much for the sweet Sunday visit. You always brighten my day. Hugs.
DeleteGlad you have electricity and cable again. That was quite the storm to leave you in the lurch for so long! Your patriotic freebie is a cutie. I love the border!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Terry. I really did not think the storm was that bad, but here in the holler we get these strange bursts of winds and of course with all of the trees it does not take much before trees or limbs fall. When we left the holler we saw that more trees were down in the neighborhood so I guess it was worse than what I thought. I was able to make a little progress on the border of the Little Patriot today. I will try to do a little each day. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
DeleteI love your red truck full of flowers, Melisa! That is a sweet one. Thanks for sharing a new freebie with us, too. Have fun with the grands, and I hope you find some good mischief to get into this week!
ReplyDeleteOh thank you so much, Diann. The truck was such a delight to stitch. I told hubby that I would love to have an old fashioned truck like that in the yard filled with flowers. LOL. We had a great time visiting the little ones today. They are excited that school is out. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs.
Deleteyou amaze me--how do you time to stitch other's designs when you have so many of your own you are always working on??? Working on the lemonade one for summer--though mine will be ice tea--and later today the plan is start the embroidery on one of the Round abouts--do have them all traced off for the ones you have given us and the bunny one is done--so lets go stitching--hugs, di
ReplyDeleteAaw shucks, Di. I am the one amazed by you! I wish I was half as prolific as you are. Oooh I look forward to seeing your iced tea stamp. I know it will be adorable and I loved your Bunny Roundabout. Fabulous idea on the multi colored scalloped border. Thank you so much for stitching along with me , Di. You keep me motivated. Hugs.
DeleteYou've certainly got enough going to keep you busy a while. Stitching, designing, redecorating, gardening ... goodness. I hope you have some time for Mr. P! Hahaha! Thanks for the new stitchery and I'm loving your progress on the Bunny in the Round.
ReplyDeleteOh I am trying to stay as busy as possible, Susie. Some days are more productive than others. LOL I can't leave out Mr. P. I am so blessed that he supports me and even encourages me in my crafting endeavors. If I am in the quilting room too long, he visits me. Hee! Hee! Have a blessed day and thank you for the giggles. Hugs.
DeleteDon't forget the June Tiny house for tomorrow!!!
ReplyDeleteAaaw I am so touched that you are enjoying the Tiny Houses. It is all stitched and the post is ready to post. I hope you like the new house. It is a little rustic but you can stitch it in any color you like. Thank you for the sweet visit and for stitching along with me. Hugs.
DeleteStrawberry season is just getting started here. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteGail at the cozy quilter
Oh wow ! I just love strawberry season. I hope you enjoy some fresh ones in the near future. When we had our strawberry farm the season usually ended around now. Have a fabulous week, Gail and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteWow – you certainly accomplished a lot while the power was out! You have so many beautiful projects in the works. The tumbleweeds quilt is fabulous. You are starting some fun patriotic cross stitch projects – “USA Banner Spool”, and “Let Freedom Ring”. “Every Heart Beats True” is very cute and looks great. I have also been focusing on patriotic projects. I have the 1776 Crock, Sarah Jane’s 1776 Saltbox, and the Freedom Saltbox that you designed on my June stitch list. I am adding the “Little Patriot” to that list. Thank you so much for all the patterns you design. I am finishing up the May Tiny House today. It is so cute and I love this series. Alicia
ReplyDeleteOh Alicia, I am so excited and so very grateful that you are stitching so many of my humble little designs. I sure hope you enjoy each and every one. With all of the rain we had this week and then being without utilities, I was able to sit and enjoy some good stitching time. Hopefully , this week will be just as productive but with electricity. Hee! Hee! Have a blessed and beautiful week, Alicia. Hugs.
DeleteI'm thinking you don't need sleep! So many fun projects and chores keeping you busy. Glad power is restored for you.
ReplyDeleteLOL I wish I did not have to do that old sleep thing. Hee! Hee! I could quilt and stitch 24/7 if I could . Wouldn't you? LOL Thank you for the sweet visit and giggles, Deb. I wish you a wonderful week. Hugs.
DeleteYou have some lovely projects in the works, Melisa. You are like the energizer bunny! I don't how you accomplish so much. Have a great day!!
ReplyDeleteAaw shucks, Thank you so much, Jeanna. I have been trying to stay as busy as possible. I am sure I will slow down as the grandkids are here visiting. They keep me thoroughly entertained. LOL. I wish you a lovely week. Hugs.
DeleteThat must have been one big storm. Hopefully you've got cable and Internet back. I can deal with no cable, no Internet is a whole other thing. Congrats on the finish, it's very cute. Hopefully this week is much calmer.
ReplyDeleteIt was a humdinger. We have our Internet / Cable service with one company so when one goes out so does the other. Thankfully, the electric company was much quicker on restoring services than the cable. Have a blessed week, Kate and thank you for the sweet visit. Hugs.
DeleteYour new decorations are lovely, and Jean A. is undoubtedly a great source of inspiration! I'm in love with your sweet Every Heart Beat True embroidery and the cute Bunny too. I just purchased a magnetic needle minder like yours, a butterfly ;) Your Tumbleweeds quilt is beautiful, enjoy hand quilting it. Thank you for sharing your welcoming home and linking up.
ReplyDeleteAaw thank you so much, Frederique. Every Heart Beats True was a delightful stitch; now to find the perfect frame. Oh, I have not seen the butterfly needle minder. I will have to search for that. I have a strong admiration for butterflies. Thank you so much for telling me about it and for the sweet visit. Have a blessed day. Hugs.
ReplyDeletei am glad all your services are restored. We had one of those "Holy Cow" storms here the other night, too. We were okay but my son's boss had a tree come down on his house. No one was home so not injuries, thankfully. Thank you for the new patriotic stitch. It will be so cute done up. You have many tempting choices.
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, those storms can be frightening. I am so sorry to hear about your son's boss and the damage he incurred. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Aaw you are so welcome and thank you, dear Ginny. It always brightens my day to hear from you. Hugs.
DeleteI too have been slow to put up the patriotic displays. I have a quilt to finish up and then I think I will get right to it. Since I love your decorative displays (the header picture is stunning!!), I know I will love Jen's so thanks for the link! Also thank you for the "Little Patriot" freebie. You are always so generous with your design talent!
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon, Vivian and Happy Friday. I guess we have to be in the right mood to decorate or even work on our crafts right? Oooh how exciting that you are working on finishing a quilt. I am sure you are looking forward to finishing it so you can use it or have it on display. Is it a patriotic one? Aaw thank you for the sweetest compliments. You are always so kind and supportive. Have a beautiful and blessed weekend. Hugs.
DeleteTumbleweeks is coming right along. Thanks for the new Patriotic freebie. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week, friend.
ReplyDeleteMelissa you are definitely getting in the spirit of things with all of your patriotic decor. I aLeah’s enjoy seeing your sweet stitcheries and your Tumbleweeds quilt is going to be a lovely finish! Thank you for sharing on To Do Tuesday🤗
