"Are you ready? " asked Mr. Pinker
"For what ? " I asked with a confused look on my face.
"To hit the road, "he said with a smile.
With that , I jumped up, ran to the bedroom , grabbed my bag and was out the door. ( Yep, I keep my bag packed for camping trips. Hee! Hee! 😀😁😂)
"Whoa there, Nelly! " yelled Mr. Pinker . "I have to load up the camper first. "
Sooooo- these last couple of days we have been spending some lazy days at the lake.
"Where are you going , Hun?" I asked.
"To get dinner, " he said with a smile. I just rolled back over and went to sleep. It was too early for me.
While Mr. Pinker fished the morning hours away, I caught up on my Zzzzzs. 😴💤😴💤
Once I was up and about , I went outside and worked on appliqueing my yellow heart blocks.
This project was inspired by Di at Quilting is Blissful blogspot. She always has the cutest heart projects in the works. ❤💛💚 13 yellow hearts were appliqued .I still need 5 more.
Soon I heard Mr. Pinker making his way back to camp.
"Why are you placing your blocks on the ground?" he asked.
" I was just snapping some photos, " I said.
"Why don't you move to the trailer? "
Hmmm now why hadn't I thought of that. Oh well. 😏 I spread some of my lovely heart blocks across the bed of the trailer to admire.
I will be piecing them together like this once that I have all of them appliqued.
After snapping a few photos, I followed Mr. Pinker into the old truck camper. Mr. Pinker was looking about sniffing. "I do not smell breakfast," he said slyly.
"Breakfast! " I exclaimed. "It is dinner time ! Where are those fish?"
" The fish are pretty elusive this year. I guess we will be eating leftover cabbage soup, "he replied.
After eating, I sat down and finished the first of the Durene Jones "Bunny Eggs" which was a sweet gift from my dear friend, Marianne.

I am stitching mine in DMC 221. Thank you dear friend.
I then pulled out my 2nd stitch to work on . - a new house stitch inspired by a house that I saw on the drive to camp.
"Whatcha making?" I asked.
"Brownies" he said with a grin.
Soon the Omnia oven was working. It was not long before I jumped up and went outside.
"Where are you going? " asked Mr. Pinker.
"Outside. ", I replied. " The smell is too enticing." But in the end I marched right back in , relinquished to the delectable smell and ate a brownie or two. Hee! Hee!
Not pretty, but the brownies were yummy. |
So that is what is going on at the campground on this fine day. Quilting, stitching , fishing, and eating! I hope you are doing something you love!
As Always,
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all

It's so awesome that you and Mr Pinker are at the lake just relaxing and enjoying the days. The quilt with the hearts is beautiful. I know you're enjoying stitching that beauty. I was telling someone just the other day that I haven't stitched one of your houses in quite a while. Can't wait to see what you're working on. Have fun!!! Hugs, Darlene J
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing you camping adventure posts. Love the Spring header for the blog. Do you know when you will release the pattern on the top left? It is so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat Mr. Pinker. . .always there for you! So sorry breakfast or dinner eluded him; but there is always next time! I sure like your hearts!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteYour appliqued hearts look so lovely--I like the flowery backgrounds on the yellow ones especially...And oh yes, yummy brownies are such a treat...enjoy the camping...

Well, I've learned something new. We don't have a camper and I've never been camping, so I had never heard of an Omnia oven. Those brownies look pretty tasty! I love your heart blocks.
ReplyDeleteI had an uncle who loved to fish. He and my aunt had a cabin in the hills on the Tennessee River. We used to have wonderful times there. (And wonderful fried fish!)
How wonderful to drop everything and run away for a few days. Do you have a lake nearby or do you have to go a ways? Bummer, no fish. It's been forever since I had fresh fish while camping. One of my son's oldest friends, my "third son", left some salmon at his parents' house for me and he brought it home for me this afternoon. Doesn't that sound just delish! It is mine because my son won't eat it. Loves the sport of fishing but won't eat them. The low volume backgrounds on your hearts add such life to the blocks and the new stitches look both adorable ( the bunny) and the lovely Americana. Never idle hands for you, for sure. I would be terribly tempted smelling brownies, too. I've never used an Omnia. Looks like it makes great brownies!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day you both had camping. Shame about the fish, better luck next time.
ReplyDeleteFabulous day at the lake!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing
Hugs
Sounds like you're having a grand time! Wouldn't it be nice if you could make it up here this summer? Love your heart appliques and look forward to your finish! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteI love reading about your camping trips. I hope Mr Pinker catches some fish so you won't have to keep eating cabbage soup. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour heart blocks are looking good, I really like the background fabric you used for the yellow ones. Enjoy your camping trip, hopefully you missed out on all the storms this weekend.
ReplyDeleteJust catching up!! Have fun, dear friend! Mr. Pinker sounds like Chicken Legs. He likes to cook and bake too! Aren't we blessed girls?!! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteSounds to me like a perfect camping day! The heart project is coming along nicely.
