It's Getting There!

It's not a finish, but it is getting there!

Welcome y'all and Happy Friday.

All of my butterflies are quilted on the Flaming Butterfly quilt .

The blocks are quilted

I do believe this sunny yellow butterfly is my favorite. It reminds me of my sweet sis.

The blocks were appliqued in Quartzsite.

I will be moving on to the border next . I will quilt a cable design.

I wish I had bought more of this fabric. Isn't it gorgeous? I love that it has strawberries in it which is another reminder of my sister.

Even Oreo is happy that I am nearing a finish on my quilt.  Oreo is one of my nephew's "barn " cats. My sister adored cats and both of my nephews do too.  Oreo is a pistol. LOL.

I will keep it short and sweet today because I want to work on my border. Thank you for dropping by and have a super day!

 As Always,

Happy  Stitching and Quilting, y'all

Melisa

Thank you for the sweet visit.

"Love is like a butterfly . It begins from nothings and turns into something beautiful and rare. " - unknown.

Hugs and Stitches!!!!🤗🧵❤

Dedicated to my baby sister, Amy. Every time I see a butterfly I think of you.  Love and miss you, Amo.

I am joining these lovely ladies' link parties. I hope you check them out; they always have so many wonderful projects going on and provide the opportunity for other needleworkers to meet.

  1. Wooooow, what a quilt. Fantabulous! All my favorite colors. Very, very beautiful!
Oreo is great. I have a cat like Oreo in the neighborhood. And a real crazy dog. No, no not an angry one, but sometimes I think its not a dog but a sheep.
    Have a grat day,

  3. I love your quilt - and that border! I'll be "stealing" your idea if that's ok. My dd has a cat like Oreo - not in color but personality. He's an outside cat that they brought from another house but loves to stick by family and comes in during storms. Have a great day. Blessings!

  4. Your Flaming Butterfly quilt is just beautiful, and I love that yellow butterfly too. Oreo is adorable. My tuxedo - Toby - is also a pistol - must be a "tuxie" thing. How dear that your sis also loved cats. :)

  13. Looking so pretty, Melisa. Love Oreo, too :) I do miss having a kitty around the house but with my husband's allergies I don't think we'll ever have one again.

  14. The Butterfly quilt honoring your sister is gorgeous. Enjoy your time spent quilting the cables. I'm moving a little slower today - nice way of saying today I'm being a bit lazy. LOL Actually I'm going to start a project that involves lots of half square triangles. Pretty bright colors with an an adorable background fabric. Enjoy your day. Hugs, Darlene J

  15. Your Butterfly quilt is coming along so well. That border print is so pretty. It never fails that we fall in love with something that isn't available easily, anymore. The butterfly fabrics all are so fun. The original maker really creative with what she put together. Oreo is such a cutie. I miss our kitty. I wouldn't mind having another kitty but not without my son's involvement.

  16. So glad to see the progress you've made on the butterfly quilt, Melisa! It's so pretty! The yellow butterfly is definitely a special one, and I love those blue chain blocks running through, too. Oreo looks like sweetie - does he like to be petted?
