It's not a finish, but it is getting there!
Welcome y'all and Happy Friday.
I do believe this sunny yellow butterfly is my favorite. It reminds me of my sweet sis.
The blocks were appliqued in Quartzsite. |

I am joining these lovely ladies' link parties. I hope you check them out; they always have so many wonderful projects going on and provide the opportunity for other needleworkers to meet.

Wooooow, what a quilt. Fantabulous! All my favorite colors. Very, very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOreo is great. I have a cat like Oreo in the neighborhood. And a real crazy dog. No, no not an angry one, but sometimes I think its not a dog but a sheep.
Have a grat day,
Gabi
Oh you are getting so close to finishing your Butterfly quilt. I love it and I love all of the reminders of your sis. That Oreo is a nice-looking kitty. Love the pink nose and white belly!
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt - and that border! I'll be "stealing" your idea if that's ok. My dd has a cat like Oreo - not in color but personality. He's an outside cat that they brought from another house but loves to stick by family and comes in during storms. Have a great day. Blessings!
ReplyDeleteYour Flaming Butterfly quilt is just beautiful, and I love that yellow butterfly too. Oreo is adorable. My tuxedo - Toby - is also a pistol - must be a "tuxie" thing. How dear that your sis also loved cats. :)
ReplyDeleteYour butterfly quilt is looking fabulous, Melisa. Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteIt's always such a good feeling to be nearing the end of a project. Enjoy the last little bit of the stitching .
ReplyDeleteIt's a gorgeous quilt, Melisa and that yellow butterfly is my fave too! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies are so lovely, Melisa; the quilting on the yellow one is gorgeous!! Have fun cabling that border--fancy stitching there;))) Do you mark it out first? Hugs for a good weekend

ReplyDeleteThat strawberry fabric is adorable... as is Oreo!
Love those butterflies!! and you are hand quilting? I am so impressed with that skill! oreo is a cutie pie
ReplyDeleteI like that yellow butterfly too! Hooray for having all the blocks quilted and moving on to the border! --TerryK@OnGoingProjects
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Melisa. You are getting really close to a finish. Oreo is one happy kitty!
ReplyDeleteLooking so pretty, Melisa. Love Oreo, too :) I do miss having a kitty around the house but with my husband's allergies I don't think we'll ever have one again.
ReplyDeleteThe Butterfly quilt honoring your sister is gorgeous. Enjoy your time spent quilting the cables. I'm moving a little slower today - nice way of saying today I'm being a bit lazy. LOL Actually I'm going to start a project that involves lots of half square triangles. Pretty bright colors with an an adorable background fabric. Enjoy your day. Hugs, Darlene J
ReplyDeleteYour Butterfly quilt is coming along so well. That border print is so pretty. It never fails that we fall in love with something that isn't available easily, anymore. The butterfly fabrics all are so fun. The original maker really creative with what she put together. Oreo is such a cutie. I miss our kitty. I wouldn't mind having another kitty but not without my son's involvement.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see the progress you've made on the butterfly quilt, Melisa! It's so pretty! The yellow butterfly is definitely a special one, and I love those blue chain blocks running through, too. Oreo looks like sweetie - does he like to be petted?
ReplyDeleteYour butterflies quilt looks amazing, Melisa!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend
