Flowers are blooming!

The birds are chirping .

The bees are buzzing . ๐๐It is a beautiful day!

Welcome y'all and Happy Saturday. ๐๐๐

Hmmm . What else is going on? Well, I have my first entry of the year for Joy's Tablescraps challenge at The Joyful Quilter. So Yee Haw! I am excited!
So what was the challenge? Well, to use yellow scraps in accordance to this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge with Angela at So Scrappy and create an item with the theme "Song, Poetry, or Lyrics " which was Joy's challenge. Easy Peasy. ๐๐๐๐๐

"Here is the beehive
But where are the bees?
Hiding away where nobody sees.
Here they come flying out of their hive,

Little scraps of polka dots and plaids make up my beeskep. A honeycomb border finished this small quilt. I am doing the Happy dance ! ๐๐๐
I do invite you to see what other Tablescraps were being made this month by buzzing over to Joy's beautiful, happy blog. I know you will be delighted. Have a beautiful buzzy day. And thank you for spending a bit of your time with me today, Sweeties.
As Always,
Happy Stitching and Quilting, y'all
Melisa
Thank you for the sweet visit.

Very cute beehive (?). The yellows all work nicely together. It's obvious you're having lots of fun, Mz Melisa. Happy Friday and Saturday. Stitch, stitch, stitch!!! Hugs, DarleneJ
ReplyDeleteThe beehive quilt is very cute! I've enjoyed reading and seeing spring arrival at your home.
ReplyDeleteIt's got up into the 70's yesterday and we had buckets and buckets of rain, the grass is actually green now! All the geranium plants that were overwintering in the shop were sat outside to soak up the new rain. They even look greener, spring is finally arriving in northern Indiana!
Your beeskep is adorable! Glad that spring has arrived at "the hollar" and hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSweet beehive table mat, Melisa! Hello there, Miss Edna!
ReplyDeleteBeeskep is so adorable, Melisa!! Great Table Scrap piece...Spring is slow in coming here; temps bounce up to high 60's and then back down to 30's a day later--but my daffodils are starting to flower--so Spring is coming here..hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteVery cute! A prefect table scrap for spring.
ReplyDeleteThat is one cute beeskep, Melisa! It makes me want some local honey! LOL Have a great weekend! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteAnother fun filled and very happy post, Melisa! I enjoyed all the springy brightness you shared and the happy stitching as well!
ReplyDeleteSweet little bee skep mini. I also have some bright red tulips blooming along the front bed. So pretty! Your mention of the Joyful Quilter sent me down another rabbit hole. The table scrap challenge sounds so fun and another diversion from tasks needing to be accomplished. Haha I have been meaning to ask you about your All Around the Garden blocks. Did you ever share the specs on that block with us? Did your bees weather the winter well? Always good to see Edna's pretty face! She makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteMagnificent bee quilt!!
ReplyDeleteSpring is here!
Hugs
Look at all the bees! I love your scrappy bee skep, Melisa! Making it with strips like that was the perfect choice. I remember that little rhyme, too - does it have some finger motions to go with it? I'm digging deep in my memory banks for that info!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute beehive! :)
ReplyDeleteThat's the cutest beehive I've ever seen. I've never heard that song but it is charming too. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteSuper cute beehive quilt, Melisa! Fun little inspiration ditty, too. Thanks for joining in the March TABLE SCRAPS Challenge!
ReplyDeleteDelightful! Your bee skep and song/poem that inspired. And you are a beekeeper? I always wanted to be one!
ReplyDeleteOh, Melisa, your beehives are magnificent -- both the quilt and the real ones in the photos! Congrats on a great entry to Joy's Table Scraps!
ReplyDeleteThis is adorable! Perfect fabrics and lovely poem.
